I want to give a better rating but cant. My friends and family have stop going here after so much disappointment, the food and waiting are the worst. Generally they are out of anything you want at anytime you want it. Then you may luck up and get what you been craving and its all fat of under cooked, by this time you are miles away with a 18$ plate of waste. So many times, they lost my 20yrs of business. It used to be worth the trip. I feel bad i cant give them a better rating but no...

This place had changed many times over the years Ive been going here. I think theyre in a good place right now. The BBQ isnt cheap, well, because its BBQ. Ribs are the tastiest but they are putting some sort of spice on the chopped pork now that Im not crazy about because Im more of a purest. There isnt any place to sit so be prepared to take out or eat in the car. Parking in the small lot usually is not an issue.

This is not the pit stop of old. They changed the sauce. They no longer smoke their ribs.(they pit cook all of their meats but dont smoke them) The food isnt as tasty as I remember. The service is good. The portions are generous the pricing is good. I would say if your in the neighborhood around 10:00-11:30pm and you want some bbq pit stop is a good choice (just dont expect great bbq)

Best rib restaurant hands down in Massachusetts!!! Ive been to them all and nothing compares to them. I would say I wish they had a bigger spot and opened all week long. Hope it will come one day. But, the food makes you dance its so good. The sauce is special and the sides are so great I cant even say anything more it, can I do a commercial for them:))) lol

definitely not the same. great sweet potatoes, collard greens and mac and cheese( even though they heat the mac and cheese in the microwave) the ribs are chewy and the chicken is so- so. in addition they are never open when they are supposed to be lol. still trying to go there tonight lol!!

I grew up and still live within 3 miles of this place and never tried it until today. Ive been missing out for 45 years. Devastating but thrilled I finally stopped. I will be back!! The ribs are massive and meaty. The cornbread is the moistest Ive ever had.

The most incredible meat cooked perfectly, and a tasty sauce.I left Mattapan to go to Cambridge with my full rack and side of sauce and lasted till Fenway had to stop because of aroma and eat half of rack.Great decision.

They are the best in New England. Period. Its a tiny place with no seating, but the focus is on the food. You can see right into the underground oven from the counter. If youre in Boston, this is THE rib spot!
