This was my first visit in 2 years. Now I remember why. Entered store famished at apron 5:15- hardly any customers- I ordered a cold sandwich. After waiting for **25 minutes**, I finally approached the register to see whether they had forgotten me. While there, i heard several employees relaxing & chatting with each other in the prep area.. The young girl at the register was aloof and bordered on rude. Finally after waiting another 5 minutes, the sandwich appeared- and was completely different than what I had ordered. When I pointed out that the order was wrong, the girl at the register gave a curt & snobby "sorry". Not having eaten since breakfast, I didnt have the energy to argue with her, & ate the darn thing. Dont intend to go back.

This place was a terrible experience for my family and me. The service is poor and unfriendly. The food took 30-40 minutes just to get ready. Also it is very OVERPRICED! This place really needs to get its act together. You are supposed to go to a restaurant and have fun and be greeted with a smile. Its surprising that this happened at a place in the heart of Marblehead, but then again not really as all of the people there are big snobs. Dont go here... you have plenty of other nice places to choose from such as Crosbys, Maddies, Barnacle and the Landing.

Not very nice most of the time (young staff and the owners, too!) They seem aggravated to have to take your order, and they get annoyed when youre trying to find something suitable from their LIMITED muffin selection. Apparently you have to get there as the muffins are coming our of the oven, or else you wont get one!! Finally, whats up with the elderly locals that fill the joint daily!!! Theyre loud and take up practically the entire place! Talking with one another from table to table with no regard whatsoever for the other patrons. How rude!

I go to this place may be once a year until I remember that they dont have any muffins. They have trays and trays of all the unpopular muffins but not even normal muffins like corn, blueberry, chocolate chip. This place is also a yuppie magnet. Pretty much everyone that gives Marblehead its reputation shows up here to talk extra loud about how great they are. Next year Ill try to save myself the aggravation and remember that there are no muffins in The Muffin Shop only yuppies.

The salads are amazing and huge! Our favorites are the cob and the grilled chicken caesar. The lobster roll is also perfection. The only reason I gave the Muffin Shop 4 stars is for the atmosphere. We go for lunch often, and would love to have some background music playing - it would liven it up a bit.
