I used to think being invisible was a made up power, until tonight. We mustve been wearing invisible cloaks because nobody here at El Potro notice us. Got to the restaurant at 7:30PM to grab dessert with friends. Didnt get seated till 7:40. After getting seated, we sat patiently for 20 minutes before deciding that our invisible powers were on point tonight. We left after 20 minutes and no one working notice that either. The place was busy. It wasnt busy enough where they couldnt acknowledge us. I wanted to give this place business and see if it was worth it. Turns out to be the worst place we ever visited, in terms of service. I cant comment on the food because we left. Maybe I will give this place another chance. Maybe not. First impression is everything to me. If you ask me, go to another restaurant that will service you better.

I tried El Potro for the first time a couple months ago when one of my friends at UML took me. I liked it the first time, it was wicked good. However, I went last weekend during the senior bar crawl with my two friends who have never been, we order an appetizer of nachos. The nachos came with 8 chips. Literally, we counted the plate and took a picture, 8 chips, for $10. We waited to eat any because obviously thats a rip off and when we told our server he basically barked at us and told us thats how it always is. We said we didnt want it, he said he could cancel the order we left and went somewhere else. I will absolutely never go back again, my two friends who I took with me for the first time, will never go back again. And it ruins it for the restaurant when you have rude staff.

Never had a problem with service here, though I typically sit at the bar. Bartenders are nice enough and are promt to pour you another beverage. The wait staff are busy , but courteous. I think the food is absolutely delicious and the best in the area. That brings me to the drinks. Sadly, I find them rather weak, ( and i am not the onlyone) they taste good, but cant taste the tequila in the margarita and definitely dont feel it later. I thought maybe it was because its a margarita, nope....patron silver didnt taste right at all. So, if you want great tasting food, El Potro is great, if you want a buzz.. Good luck.

Great place for some very good food! We dropped in when in the area based upon the reviews, and if you are in the area I might suggest this is a very good choice. The food was very good, and we were happy. The only real negatives were the menus were both filthy (had salsa dried on them on most pages, both if them) and the booths were comically rocking and in need of repair or replacement. My side had a couple of chairs pushed against the other side where the bench should have been, my wifes would move +/- 1 inch back and forth like a rocking chair...Ok till someone sat behind her....

We are on our way to the airport, we were so tempted to get something fast like a sub, instead we went for this place. What a great find. The grilled chicken was to die for. The environment walking in is that of a Cantina where all the locals gather. What were talking about the 20 to 40 year old locals. We had to get takeout so we went straight to the bar and the bartender / manager took care of us. We had to wait a little extra but the wait was worth it. Go here if your taste buds want something other than a northern meal.

I agree that the service is the worst!!! We were just about to leave when someone finally came just to give us a menu. I have two daughters so I immediately go to the kids menu first. Their "authentic" food consisted of hotdogs and chicken fingers! Children like Mexican food too! Then, we waited another 15 minutes for our order. I get the place is busy but the wait time is terrible. The food matched the service, TERRIBLE! I literally came home and barfed!

Outstanding service and very delicious food. The staff is welcoming, friendly and professional. It is one of the very few places that stay open past 9:00 p.m. on a weekend and wont rush you out and the decor is unique and handmade by one of the staff members and his family! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!!

“Excellent food” Seven of us had lunch at here in December 2016. I loved the quirky menu and had a hard time choosing (I wanted everything!). Most in the party ordered the batchelors wrap (or similar nam) and they all liked it. I cant remember what I ordered but it was delicious. The only criticism is that it took a long.

Okay presentation was over done the food was mediocre a little spice, not enough flavor the atmosphere is nice the decor is bright and colorful. I didnt like the food the taste missed the mark. Maybe it was the cooks maybe it was the time of day, but the food just wasnt making it for me. Service was......okay.

THe atmosphere of the restaurant was very good with carved and painted. Our server was friendly and polite. Our food was very good and delivered with only a short wait. There were complimentary chips and salsa before the meal. Or food was reasonably priced. Overall it was a very good experience.

No complaints! Went here with a couple of friends and were treated nicely. You can tell that some people who coming in were still new, and it was a great vibe. The portions are gigantic, and will leave you fully satisfied! Service and food are both great, I would recommend this place to anyone.

I have been going to this place since I was a kid. Food is always good, excellent service. If you like lamb dishes, the baked lamb garnish is the best -- comes with potato , rice and veggies with the sauce its made in, of course!

Warm, inviting, upbeat and affordable dining in the heart of Lowell. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Food portions are big and fresh. Parking is the citys main issue but if you find another eat here!
