Cant believe $6 for a cup of tea at Fishbones. We will never go back there again. Incredibly poor customer service. My wife and I had a nice meal and topped it off with dessert and a cup of tea for my wife. Now for years my wife asks for two tea bags with her tea. Our waitress delivered our dessert and tea with two teabags. When we got the check we noticed we were charged for 2 cups of tea, The waitress informed us that she had to charge us for two cups of tea per the owners instructions. When I asked to speak with the owner, they sent the manager over instead. I told her nicely that it seemed a little unreasonable to have a $6.00 cup of tea. Yes, she said because you had two tea bags. We have been to lots of restaurants, many much nicer, more expensive than Fishbones. Never have we been charged for two tea bags. I wont bore you with the details of my polite disagreement with the manager. While she said that she understood my complaint there was nothing she could do. Nothing? "No" she said, that is the way we manage our business. So the manager has an unhappy customer, not over $3.00, but simply for the fact that she was completely unwilling to make a clearly unhappy customer, a happy customer. That she could let us walk out of that restaurant with such a bitter taste is unbelievable. For those who may think that I am just too cheap, we left our capable but embarrassed waitress just shy of a 25% tip. We will never go to Fishbones again. Ever. Shame on the manager and shame on the owner. An otherwise enjoyable experience ruined over a cup of tea. The food may be good but the experience is lousy.

I am working in the area and found this place online looking around. I love good seafood and am fussy. I went here on my first trip and have eaten here at least 3 nights a week while working here for th elast month. The food is outstanding, fresh, nice portions. It is hard to get a table on any weeknight after 6;15 OR 6:30. So that speaks for itself. So go early or after 7:45. They have call ahead, bu tnot sure that helps-its not a reservation. I have had variable service quality. One night the waiter buzzed around walking right past me and avoiding all eye contact. i understood he was overwhelmed with too many, but all he had to do was make eye contact and say i havent forgotten you. Kudos to the hostess who noted my anxiety in trying to catch his attention over 5 minutes with several passes. She came over and took my order, then he followed up to finish serving later. So 5 starts to her. Other times Ive ordered salad and entree and had both come almost same time. Specify this clearly here and tell them if it comes too early it will go back. Ask them to check with you before putting it in the computer if youre ready for entree. Maybe they wont be able to handle that. Not sure. But the food is excellent and worth it. You must ask for dinner rolls if you want them. Service could use some work-but the food is great and well worth it. First quality fresh and you wont leave hungry either. Give it a try, you wont be sorry.

My husband and I have been to this restaurant twice and both times we had delicious dinners. The place is very comfortable and they now have additional seating and a bar. We always have fish (the actually have a great fish market as well as the restaurant) as that is what it is all about. Our last visit I had a fried shrimp dinner with baked potato and coleslaw. My husband had a fried clam dinner with garlic mashed. We made our own swaps and enjoyed clams and shrimp for both of us. Batter is great and the shrimp was really excellent. I thought the clams were chewy. Nice to not always have french fries. We asked if there were any other options and she listed off a few to our surprise. Dont be afraid to ask for something if you dont see it on the menu - they will often be able to accommodate you. The shrimp wasnt on the memo that night but it was available. Apparently not enough to place it on the menu for the night. Smart! I hate to order something and the restaurant doesnt have it. Doesnt seem to be that way at Fishbones. Desserts look incredible but we have been so full each time that we have nott tried anything yet. I have recommended this place to a number of friends and they all like it very much. Nice outdoor patio - Parking is behind the building. Tricky to find. Take a right immediately after the Stop & Shop parking lot (see white house).

Went to Fishbone Friday June 22. We arrived at 530 and got almost the last table available, right next to the windows. Nice. We were promptly asked about drinks, and after that came we ordered appetizers. Fried calamari, nice and lightly breaded. We also ordered 6 cherrystones on the 1/2 shell. They were delicious, with the exception of one that had a bit of shell in it. I ordered the lobster risotto, FANTASTIC, and my husband had the fishermans platter. All cooked to perfection, fresh etc. Love all of it. We had a bottle of wine with dinner. Our server was very attentive. We had the panna cotta for dessert and it was heaven. Never had before, but i went home and made for us the next night! : ) The quarters are close, but not uncomfortable. We had a few friendly comments with those near us and I dont think either of us was uncomfortable with it. The ONLY suggestion i have for the restaurant is that is was a bit too hot that night and there didnt seem to be any airconditioning. We were pretty sweaty by the end of the meal as the restaurant filled up, etc. But I will def go back!! We would have sat on the patio, but it was about to rain and did! Next time!

The food is getting worse! We live not far away so we have gone to this restaurant three times. The first time we were happy with the quality of the food - it was fresh and meal was nicely prepared. The second time was okay but we did not feel the food was as good as the first time. (The first two visits were in June.) Yesterday we went there again and it was the worst. The oysters were warm and seemed to have been opened for a long time. The worst moment came when I put the second oyster into my mouth and almost threw up immediately as that oyster smelled like hell. As a oyster lover, I have never experienced like that in any of the restaurants that I been to. The waitress apologized and offered me a new oyster but I declined as I had lost all my appetite. The waitress later said that the kitchen needed to do a better job not letting that happened. Yes, I totally agree. I suggest that the restaurant owners look into quality control. It is getting worse and wore. Will we go back the restaurant again? Maybe, but if we do we are not there for oysters.
