My review is more like 3.5 stars, rounded up for good measure. This is a pretty good fast food chain, not to be compared with other chicken joints in the area that are non fast food. Its on a similar level of KFC. The Popeyes of the Northeast are a hard find, so its pretty special one has graced the Riv. Service is usually poor here. Most of the staff seems put out to help, and sometimes you even get extra sass when you dont deserve it. And usually expect a wait because something usually needs to be fried (which can be more of a good thing, at least the food is fresh). Their chicken is tasty, and their unique sauces are even better. Try the blackened ranch for subtle spice. The sides are also pretty good. Fries are delicious, mashed potatoes are yummy and mac and cheese is good. It is on the pricier side for fast food, but its worth a try! The inside is really clean and large so seating is never an issue.

Food can be good at times, however ive had chicken that tastes like rubber and soda that tastes like water too. Dont go in after 9:00pm because the employees get angry that they have to do their job and fry up some more chicken. Ive been given scraps of mixed chicken of whatever they have left so they dont have to do their job, its pretty sad. If only I checked my boxes more often but by the time you get your food, its 15 minutes later and you just want to GTFO of there. Cleanliness is lacking. Soda station is always a mess. They mop the floors and dont put up signs. Ive almost fell myself. I could go on and on. Oh and lastly, the manager is some young kid who has absolutely no control over his employees. I will say that he does have great customer service skills though. This place has potential. Just needs a manager with some cohones and employees who work. Nuff said?

worst fast food experience ever. terrible customer service, employees were rude and arguing amongst each other. the employees were the loudest in the store, the only good part of my experience was the food. do not recommend ever eating here have had this experience multiple times always with the night time crew

The food was awesome. They made the tenders fresh when we ordered. The bisquits are so good, and the mashed potatoes and Cajun fries were great, too. Service was exceptional for a fast food place, particularly Erica, who was personable and helpful throughout our visit. Well definitely be coming back.

Go there twice per week always ordering for two families. This time was told I have to get wings when ordering the special 10 piece...to bad I really love there chicken but had to settle for KFC. They lost a 50 dollar sale I lost better tasting chicken. No win either way.

Very good fried chicken. The employees are usually very friendly too. Never had a bad experience. It is usually pretty slow, but that means its freshly cooked. Always very clean inside too. Next closest Popeyes is providence, so its still a novelty locally.

Food is always fresh and hot. I mean yeah it takes a while to get your food but hell Ill take that over food thats been left out all day. Plus this new staff over there is entertaining and talkative. Thank God !

Great food but if you want the deals you have to go early. Everytime I go in the evening they are always out of whatever deal box they have. I guess thats a good thing because it means its really good!

Travel from Mattapoisett. It,s the best!! Always fresh. Willy Will is friendly. Place is clean. We are from LA it is like stepping into the spirit of LA. The music reminds me of home.
