This place used to be great back in the day, but not so much anymore. I have no idea what happened. We used to come here all the time for spaghetti pie and sweet tea. On our last visit, it was an off-peak season Tuesday at 11:45 am, and they informed us they were out of sweet tea and spaghetti pie already. How can you run out of tea and your main dish BEFORE lunch even begins? The burgers are so-so, and have definitely grown smaller over the years. A buddy ordered the tuna fish melt, and it was horrible. It was literally canned tunafish slapped on 2 pieces of plain bread and grilled for a few minutes. That was it. And it was $12. We could have lobster rolls at The Shanty for $19 instead of that mess for $12. The service was horrible too. It took 10 minutes for us to get drink refills even though our waitress only had 2 other tables. Not sure what has happened here. This place used to be great, but save your time and money and go somewhere else these days.

Ate here for dinner one night during our vacation. TERRIBLE experience and Im writing this to save others from getting ripped off. Only other customers were friends of the employees. A man who was clearly the owner or manager walked out at one point and passed out beers to his friends. They all talked loudly while they drank the beers. The friends eventually left but the man continued to talk on his cell phone loudly. Food was bad and clearly fresh from microwave. Overpriced to say the least. After dinner, I walked to the bus station near by where this man was also using the public facilities. He used the restroom and DID NOT wash his hands. Calling sanitation department to check this place out. I think he positive reviews on here are written by friends of owner. Stay away from this place!

The cheese sticks were good (I assume because they come boxed and all they do is deep fry them) but severely overpriced and the rest of the food was downright terrible. We ordered fish and chips....come on we are on the vineyard and it was inedible! The salad was scant in the bowl and also overpriced. We then went with what the waitress (who BTW was pretty bad at the main goal of service ignoring us for much of the evening and seeming annoyed when we flagged her down to return the fish) suggested was a safe bet which was the cheese pizza and that although edible was not worth the hefty bill that came at the end. Waste of money. Barely edible food. Would have been happier with McDonalds as I think they care more about quality and service than this place.

Dont get cheese on the club sandwich because they will charge you for it even though the menu says it comes with the sandwich. Also, the service was absolutely atrocious. The waiter could not understand English and they could not understand simple directions regarding meal specialization. Another thing was that the service was extremely slow as we waited an ample amount of time to get seated even though there were open tables and the meal took an extended amount of time to come out. All in all, a very poor experience at the Edgartown Diner.

All I have to say is yum! I was leery of having the chicken and waffles for breakfast. Chicken for breakfast?, but I am now a firm believer. The chicken was soo juicy and tasty, Id come back just for that. And to be greeted with a fresh hot cup of Chilmark coffee, ahh it doesnt get better than that. My husband had a western omelette with handcut homefries seasoned perfectly. He is a big eater and even he was satisfied. Our waitress, Esther was so friendly and attentive. We definitely will be back, that chicken is calling my name!

This place just (re)opened mid March. Hadnt been to the previous incarnation, but its wonderful now! The coffees local (Chilmark) and delicious, and the chicken and waffles are really tasty. The wait staff is exceedingly friendly - one went so far as to take our fussy 5 month old off our hands, and walked around the room cooing to him while we finished our breakfast. Great place!
