The fact that I have to select 1 star irks me. Ive been to ihop 3 times in the past 7 or 10 yrs. I never go to ihop because I usually go to a privately owned diner where I get treated like family and the food is excellent. Unfortunately the owner retired and decided to close the diner and this is where the nightmare begins. While on the hunt of looking for another privately owned breakfast spot I had to settle for ihop. Every experience has been a negative one. The first time I went with a friend and I ordered scrambled eggs and the shredded potato hash browns. How do u mess up eggs and shredded potatoes? The potatoes were burned on the outside and raw underneath and the eggs were meh. The bill was like $30 for 2 people. I didnt touch any of the food because the potatoes turned me off and I spoke to the manager and told him I wasnt going to pay. He obviously didnt want to argue with me and saw that my friend and I didnt even touch our food and we left. 2nd experience at this dreadful place was a little better but still mediocre so I paid. 3rd time was the charmer for me. I ordered a BLT which btw an infant can make. How do you mess up a BLT?!! The bacon or lack there of was burned. The fries were not even fully cooked. I was so appalled that I was served this sad excuse for a sandwich that I broke it apart got up and left without saying anything to anyone. Like you serve me that crap and expect me to pay? What is the world coming too?!! I will never go to a ihop again in my life. Im going to support privately owned businesses who actually care about your patronage.

There are several other restaurants within a 5-mile radius with much, much better food and service for any meal of the day. So far, every time someone has brought me to this IHOP, I have been dissatisfied with the food and the service. (Next time I will just stay home instead.) I have experienced much better service at other IHOPs in the US, so my review is specific to the Dedham, MA location only. To the Dedham IHOP manager: The recipe for soft boiled eggs: Place enough water to cover the eggs in a saucepan. Bring water to a gentle boil. Lower the eggs carefully into the water, using a tablespoon. When the water reboils, start timing 3 minutes; reduce the heat so that the water simmers gently. Remove the eggs from the water. LEAVE THE SHELL ON THE EGGS! Serve.

Service was incredibly slow. They were changing shifts and we got left sitting at our table for at least 20 minutes. Our food order had to be handled by a waitress that was supposed to be getting off and then we had to wait for another server to finally bring our food. We only got half of the order and then we had to wait another 20 minutes for a side order of bacon. The strawberries on the pancakes and crepe tasted sour like they were about to go bad. And the waitress never checked on us. One of our drinks were incomplete due to missing ingredients and even though the manager came out and tried to remedy the situation but it didnt help at all. The only thing that came out fast was the bill at the end we were very disappointed.

The service was so nice. I ordered a chocolate chip pancake and it was moist and delicious. The bathrooms had music and to my surprise they had these health guards where you put this paper on the toilet seat with a hole in the middle so that you wouldnt touch the toilet seat with your bottom. It was so amazing. The people who worked there were very friendly. They would come back regularly to ask if you want anything else. I was very impressed and satisfied. The portions were giant! I couldnt take another bight! But I just had too :D . This Ihop was the best. I always come for more. This was Carolina saying: THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER!

Its a good place to get a quick bite. Inexpensive and usually never a problem. Waitresses are nice....but a little pushy. I was trying to read through the menu, and the waitress came twice Within 5 minutes. Then another waitress came asking me if I was all set to order, and I told the other waitress all ready asked me 2 times, and I havent even got a chance to read the menu yet. Other than the pressure to order, food was good. My girls ordered the kids ruty tuty jr. My girl got scrambled eggs, and I dont if the chef was extra happy, because he hooked my.kiddo up! She had a huge serving of scrambled eggs, I was pleasantly surprised.

I think IHOP is disgusting to begin with but at this particular one we asked for chocolate chip pancakes and they couldnt seem to figure out what we were talking about. "No not chocolate batter, or chocolate batter with chocolate chips, but buttermilk pancakes with chocolate chips." They were like "Ok I guess we can do that." Youre supposed to be a pancake house! Anyway they also took forever just to get our drinks and didnt check on us very often. It wasnt crowded either, we were one of maybe two tables there. I would not go back here again.

Horrible experience. Second time. Gave it a second chance and second experience was worst than the first. First time I ordered red velvet and got pink pancakes(false advertising) then today I came with my nephew and sister in law and after 20 minutes after we ordered chocolate chip pancakes the waitress came out chewing food stating the cook says theyre out. We were all hungry especially my nephew who was getting restless and antsy. Why wait so long to give this info because you decoded to hide somewhere and eat? Smh horrible.

If you want to get sick catch a virus this ihop is the one for you. In 3 separate occasion i went on Monday got sick day after, my brother and mom went Wednesday morning mom got sick day after, my mother in law went Wednesday afternoon with her son and got sick day after. i am upset about it if the cooks or servers are sick they should stsy home but obviously ihop in Dedham dont care about peoples health. Eat up those germs and bacteria and have yourself a sick time. I will not visit Dedham ihop again.

totally Nasty. I mean IHOP is IHOP but there are minimum standards youd think you can expect but not this one. Stopped for dinner with my 6 and 3 year old daughters...thankfully I tried the salsa that came with the Quesadillas before they did- it was rancid. Paid $4.50 each for .50 worth of instant mac and cheese. The worst was the bathroom. Most gas stations I have seen were cleaner- completely untouched and disgusting. We left 10 minutes ago and both my 6 year old and I are nauseated. Stay Away!

Had the most "God-awful" turkey dinner. The plate was hot so I couldnt touch it but the food was absolutely cold. The turkey was in thin pieces that were fried and put over cold stuffing. Not too sure I would go there again. I hAve never had such a poor serving. The waiter was very apologetic and polite. That is the only thing about the whole dinner. Needs a new chef Wont recommend it to anyone. Terrible experience
