The Kimball Farm in Carlisle has all the same delicious ice cream as Westford but in a smaller, quieter setting. You can usually get a picnic table here, or bring a blanket and sit on the grass. There are usually kids playing on the lawn and Ive seen a bean bag toss game and other things set up. The only problem weve ever had is mosquitos (bring bug spray at dusk) and bees (stay away from trash cans). The lines are much shorter than Westford and the parking is all close by. Kimballs Carlisle is a great option if youre mostly there for the ice cream, while Westford offers the full experience with mini golf, bumper boats, and farm animals. Be sure to look at the chalkboard for special flavors while they last.

The ice-cream, especially the orange-pineapple flavor is great. The location is quite off city limits especially if you want to get there after dark. The other sad thing is I wish they had smaller filling sizes rather than having even the smallest size (kiddies) sufficing 2 adults and a kid together. I would have eaten more and tried more of their ice-cream had they offered smaller sizes for lower prices. Not sure whats the business sense behind making people buy one cup for $4.75 rather than making them but 3 small cups (say half the kiddies size) for may be $3 each.

Its ice cream, and its pretty good, but I honestly dont understand why this place is so loved. The huge portions are offensive. Even the kiddie size is humungous. Update: Ive been told that if I want a smaller-sized portion, I can get it by ordering through a manager. So, if any of you reading this wants a smaller-sized portion, just ask for a manager next time youre there.

Small shack. I usually enjoy kimballs ice cream but I tried something new and it wasnt all that great. The milkshake tasted like cleaning products or rotten milk. I dont usually like to complain, but, I got up the courage to ask the woman in the window to remake it. She did, and it tasted the same. Yuck! I bought a regular ice cream and was satisfied with that.

Been coming here every summer since I can remember. Large delicious portions of every homemade ice cream flavor you can think of. I love the black raspberry frappe or getting a small sundae in a large cup (thank me later - especially if you have messy eaters in your family). Highly recommend this place over any ice cream stand with in 20 mins of it.

Today we went to Kimballs in Carlisle. I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter so ordered the chocolate peanut butter swirl. I swear there wasnt more than a dime size amount of peanut butter in my scoop. Having been watching my weight for months now this was supposed to be a treat but it was just a huge let down.

Known for their huge portions and great selection of home made ice cream. No recreational facilities here. There is seating at a half dozen or more picnic tables with umbrellas or at tables under a canopy. They always have nice flowers hanging by the service windows as well as wooden barrel halves filled with plants.

Simply no better place to get ice cream. The ice cream is really wonderful, the portions generous and the setting is so relaxing. Im astonished to read the reviews complaining about large portions! The value Kimballs gives you for your ice cream dollar is spectacular. Cant finish it? Dont complain.Take it home.

Great ice cream locally made - only suggestion is with obesity and diabetes spreading like weeds in the US tell the owners we dont need giant size to enjoy the flavor of good ice cream. A smaller size would be just as good actually even better - and more profitable for them! Help keep us healthy, give us less!!

Great ice cream at a competitive price. (In other words, it is expensive but so are the other similar places in the area.) The portions are large. The kiddie size is more than enough for me. While it is sometimes busy here, the lines are usually shorter here in Carlisle than the Kimballs in Westford.

Favorite place for Milkshakes! Me and My brother go there all the time to get gluten free peppermint stick milkshakes! Other places are good too, but Kimballs is by far the best with its creamy delicious pepperminty ice cream flavor, so convenient since theres in Carlisle

Kimball Farms Ice Cream is on my Top 3 Favorite Ice Creams of all time list... their flavor list is long, and you get A LOT of ice cream for the price. The drive out to Kimballs is beautiful. They have covered sitting areas, or you can walk around and look at the animals.

Same great Ive cream as Westford but the lines are quarter the size as Westford. There are no games or food besides ice cream but if all you looking for and dont want to wait in line for over an hour mid summer in a Saturday night give the Carlisle location a try.

Some of the best ice cream in New England. Not a user friendly sort of place. The huge tasty portions are packed into too small cups and the long spoons bend so that you cant use them to eat your excellent ice cream. SOMEONE there is NOT paying attention.

I was happy to see the mint chocolate chip was white. I ordered a kiddie and was disgusted by the amount of ice cream in the cup. The ice cream was creamy, but the flavor was just ok. I ended up with a horrible belly ache. Never going back.

Classic icream stand, same great ice cream as the original location in westford without the crazy lines. Huge portions. Parking is easy. The is no dedicated restroom, but a port a potty off near the wood.

My family loved it! Get the kiddie cone though! It looks like an extra large! The cone is small but they pile on the ice cream on kiddie cone. I think its $4. Cookies & Creme is to die for.

Great out of the way location and chill atmosphere. A million flavors, coffee Oreo had the perfect texture. Make sure to ask for whip cream! Plenty of room for kids to run around

Even on a wet mothers day there is a line of people buying ice cream. I had the maple walnut and my wife had chocolate chocolate truffle. The small size is plenty large enough!

One of the smaller locations in the group, service is generally pretty fast and the crowds are a little smaller than in other places. This is some of the best ice cream ever!
