Started out with gross, food encrusted silverware. Not a good sign. Had to ask twice for new ones. Then, two of the four people in our group ordered Awful Awfuls to drink with their meals. We received the other sodas, appetizers and our meals, but still no Awful Awfuls. Our server was young, and had a couple other tables, so we tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. However, when it got to the point where we were almost done with our meals and we still didnt have the drinks, I went up to the counter and asked about them, and was told she was just starting to make them. I explained that we were almost done with our meals, and that they had wanted their drinks WITH dinner and not after. The waitress said "oh you can take them home with you." I explained that wasnt the point, and that they should have been made and brought out with everything else. She just stared at me blankly, like a deer in the headlights. While waiting for the manager to make our order, we observed another table that our waitress was helping also becoming increasingly frustrated as they too were made to wait for their food, and also for someone to come and cash out their check. I understand and appreciate that wait staff work hard and are often busy, but dont unapologetically subject your customers to horrible service, without so much as a word of explanation or apology. In closing, my opinion is that the ice cream is great, but the food and service leave A LOT to be desired.

Went here when I was visiting my cousin in Dec 2015. We went a couple times and this really matters if you like a quiet environment. Best times we found were before 4pm or after 7pm. The staff was very friendly and we got seated in like 2 minutes. The waitress took our beverage order and then let us settle down to check the menu. Quite a selection. I asked the waitress for a suggestion and she mentioned a couple of things. I got the tuna melt with fries and extra pickle. Absolutely delicious. We got our food pretty quickly after ordering and it was hot, fresh and delicious. Then when I thought I was done, the waitress convinced me to try some ice cream. Great idea, although I was quite full afterwards :) Overall a thoroughly great experience.

I love this place. It reminds me of my childhood. Came in for lunch last week with my grandmother and the food, awful awfuls, and even the way the place smelled brought back a lot of great memories. Our waitress Krysta was very friendly and helpful and the food was great. I hope this place is here forever :)

Food was made wrong, when brought out the "right" way, it was cold and gross. Just slapped something together quickly, instead of doing it right. Watress could obviously see something was wrong, and avoided the situation all together instead of trying to fix it. Will not be going back.

I have breakfast there just about everymorning. The morning waitress Kim is very fast and efficient and also has a wonderful extra friendly personality. Newport Creamery should award her employee of the year.
