Had we done our research, we would have made a special trip for this ice cream but instead, we stumbled upon JP Licks, thus cementing our memory of this place as one of those happy traveler discoveries. For some reason, I am really annoyed by the name -- JP Licks sounds like a strip club or just plain corny. The blood red dripping glass lights are also out of place and cheesy. Once I got beyond this, I was enamored with this neighborhood ice cream shop with a good menu, interesting flavors and creamy, delicious ice cream. I had the Cherry Garciaparra, a nice play on words for this small Boston chain. With a sidecar of hot fudge, it was perfect. I also tried the butter pecan and the peanut butter chocolate chip, all with hot fudge on the side. The hot fudge was thick and rich. For those who care, this location (i dont know about the others) is kosher certified. On Saturday night, there were leftover challahs on the counter! Change the name, lose the corny lights and keep making great ice cream!

JP Licks why are you so so expensive. The ice cream/frozen yogurt here is superb. The flavors always sound delicious. I love their frozen yogurt offering and the flavors. Their special Yogurt low calorie tart Yogurt X is great with added probiotics. It tastes great and makes me feel better about my frequent frozen indulgences The only problem I have is the price. I went here for a small with some hot fudge and it was 5.29 so so expensive. I have the cow card but not sure yet what kind of rewards come with it. I usually do the kiddie size of frozen yogurt which isnt that bad price wise and will be staying away from their toppings laden choices from now on. The setup for this location isnt as great as the Jamaica Plains location but better than some. They offer free wifi which is great!

Utterly Delicious... On a hot summer day there is nothing better then coming to J.P. licks and trying one of their many unique flavors. My tastebuds were in euphoria over the maple walnut ice-cream and I couldnt have been more disappointed when I looked down at my bowl to see I had finished it all. There are many locations of this chain and they all serve incredible ice cream. There is a reason this shop made it onto the buzz feed article "27 ice cream shops you need to visit before you diet"

You could do worse, but the ice cream here is nothing to write home about. The coffee is poor and not made with any particular skill. The pastries are delivered frozen and heated in the morning. This shop has one thing going in its favor, though: compared with Emac and Bolios location down on Beacon, it is much, much cleaner. There is at least some evidence of management at JP Licks, and they wont tolerate the smell that Emacs puts out.

Big fan. Great ice cream, second only to Toscaninis in the area. Their coffee is outstanding too. Theres often a long line here, and deservedly so. The seating area can be too loud and/or too cold at times. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. Cant recall a bad interaction and I probably go every two or three weeks.

Horrible service. Girl taking orders didnt seem to know where she was even working judging by her lack of basic knowledge, seemed out of it in a way that pot couldnt accomplish. Crazy chaotic atmosphere. Tried to order three things that they were out of/"didnt have" (despite being written on the menu). Ridiculous. Never coming back.

Boston ice cream staple. I love everyone of their locations and their ice cream is amazing and homemade. So delicious and so many inventive ideas from fresh cucumber to fresh peach to mint oreo and even kugle. Its the best! This one in Coolidge Corner is small but has all the flavors just not a lot of seating. Still, its great!

JP Licks is great- they have a wide variety of options, all of which are delicious. Its also open late, and can serve as a substitute to the typical bar scene if one is so inclined. Ive never had anything there I dont like. The only potential downside is it is usually crowded

I like JP Licks, but this location is lacking. Its small with little seating, always busy and doesnt have the same choices for soft ice cream and frozen yogurt that the flagship shop in JP has. Still its good ice cream, so youll find me here when its hot out.

Traditional Ice Cream Shoppe with untraditional flavors. JP Licks scoops huge servings of Ice Cream even in their smaller cups. They have a wide variety of flavors and even have some that gluten/sugar free options. Its a great place to get a tasty treat.

Great ice cream. Service is good, but this place can get busy and loud. I would take it to go as seating are difficult to come by. The JP location is better, but the ice cream and coffee the same at both. They also carry H&H bagels from NYC.

The best ice cream around! I prefer it to Ben and Jerrys, however some of my friends would argue with me about that. The servers are very friendly and the environment is fantastic. I strongly recommend trying their flavors of the month.

Great ice cream and coffee! There is always a HUGE selection of ice cream and frozen yogurts. Black raspberry and peanut butter cookies and cream are a few of my favorites. This is also a great spot for coffee!

Great ice cream and one of the best local brands. I used to be a big fan of Ben & Jerrys, but theyre getting really cheap with their ingredients. J.P. Licks is one of my go-to shops for ice cream now.

Delish ice cream, and even better sundaes! I am in love with the brownie brownie batter ice cream, it really tastes like brownies! Sign up for their cow card to get free stuff throughout the year!

Various ice creams with standard toppings and cones. Has some interesting creations but nothing to write home about. Also has slew of coffee options but did not try them this go around

This is the best place to go in Coolidge Corner on a warm summer evening. Get some ice cream and eat it in the park next door. Youll have a great time with your friends or family.

KOSHER!!! :) Sadly, service is mediocre and this one doesnt serve bagels :( Oreo ice cream is great and most others are decent, monthlies are interesting (same as other JPs).

I had the cookie dough and really enjoyed it. JP Licks always delivers. This location had free (and no key required) bathrooms if you are in the area and need to go.

Great place to get a quick ice cream fix. Their morning coffee here is also surprisingly good. Everything is just a wee bit pricey.

Rich ice cream w/ creative flavors that work. Even the regular, traditional flavors are some of the best versions Ive ever tasted.
