We chose Scampo to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. After having read all the good reviews we anticipated a wonderful evening. Loved the decor and the high energy level of the room. Hostess was friendly and gracious. When ordering our pre dinner cocktails, the waiter was not very knowledgeable regarding ingredient questions. We had one of the Mozzarella appetizers which was delicious. However the appetizer was presented to us, before the waiter provided plates and silverware, so we used our bread plates. He seemed a bit annoyed, but what else were we to do? I had the ravioli which was divine. My husband had the special which was lamb. The lamb portion was quite large, but most of it aside from the chop, was too chewy to enjoy. Both the dining room manager and Lydia were walking the room, but neither stopped by to check on our meals. We did go ahead and order dessert which was out of this world. A dense chocolate cake with a malted ice cream! Overall, the service was spotty. Our waiter had a very large table to deal with, and Im not sure how many other tables he had. We waited a long time for our check and then a long time for it to be processed. Again, I mention that "managers" were on the floor, but no one came by our table to help out. I really dont know if we will return. Weve been to Bergamot several times, (owned and run by Lydias former protege), and he does it right! Most of all, I contacted the restaurant to mention the problems we experienced and no one has responded!

We went to Scampo to celebrate Mothers Day. The service I found lacking with the servers showing no enthusiasm or personality. At the beginning of meal they bring bread sticks, which were delicious. We ended up waiting a while for the main course to be served. While waiting, we asked for some more to be brought. The small portion that was brought looked like left over pieces, broken, with some of them being burnt. The rabbit ordered was absolutely tasteless and portion of risotto which helped to add some flavor to the dish was so small that could only compliment a child, not an adult. Salmon that was ordered was tasteless as well. Prior to our dinner I was reading reviews about this place and the first one was about these bread sticks, so I was wondering if the restaurant management actually reads customers review and makes some changes. I guess not and nobody cares about you. I wouldnt recommend this place. You can find plenty of French restaurants in Boston where the food and service is much better. I would visit Mistral any time and not waste time coming here.

Pretentious place with zero vibe. Horrible service (long wait times to get served, defiant waiters). We wanted to have a fun girls night out and one of our friends recommended this place. When we walked in, I already noticed how waitress Stephanie examined us and it felt extremely uncomfortable. The evening did not get any better. Surrounded by 80 year-old drooling dudes who were on dates with 20 year-old botox-lipped blondes, you cannot really get relaxed! Food is average tasting and way over-priced. Dont waste your time and choose a restaurant that has character and friendly staff! Wont ever return to awful Scampo.

We were 6 for full dinners. Most drinks were extremely slow to table. I had to wait a whole course then, when my drink finally came toward the end of my meal, it was not as ordered because they "dont have any fresh ice". Waitress said she should have told me. (Yes, I would have order something else) After speaking with the manager the drink was "comped". Manager said they were more busy than expected because of graduations. I guess that is a surprise in Boston during May.

Expensive for what it is but food is definitely excellent. No complaints there. Our final waiter was great but our first was not as much and the hostess appeared very confused. We had to sit at the bar first because we arrived at 5:24 PM and seating didnt begin to 5:30 PM. When it came time to move to our seats, we moved ourselves and made a few trips to bring everything with us. We were surprised that none of the waitstaff came over to help bring over our drinks and menu.

Been here a few times for dinner but most recently made a trip for Sunday Brunch. We started with a pitcher of sangria which was nice but didnt seem worth the price. The entree items all looked great and they were very accommodating letting you swap sides if you dont eat meat or didnt like what came with the entree. While the menu items are a bit on the pricier side for brunch items the food tasted really good so it was well worth it.

Very bad experience. I called in advance to see until time they were open and when we arrived (still within working hours) they did not want to serve us. After speaking with the manager they allowed to stay. The food was not good (carbonara pasta drenched in cream and full of onions) and the bartender was extremely rude. Terrible service and overpriced. Will not go back on would not recommend this place.

Went for a company dinner with 12 people. The wait staff was highly attentive without being intrusive. The food was fantastic. I had a pork chop with corn risotto dashed with black truffle oil. The pork was tender and juicy with great flavor. One of the best Ive had. You pay a premium for presentation but overall a good value for the quality of the food. Highly recommend. Will be back.

Mistral is deservedly viewed as one of Bostons premier restaurants. Outstanding selection of well-prepared and delicious dishes and outstanding wine list. Servings are not huge, so feel free to order multiple courses. Service is attentive and prompt. The cavernous space gives a sense of grandeur, but also is a bit of an echo chamber for the high-powered clientele.

Scampo is my go-to place when I crave comforting and delicious food. No foams, spheres, gels, etc. The Italian inspired menu has lots of options and is somewhat eclectic, which makes it all the more interesting. Portion sizes are on the larger side which would please most, and the food seems to hit the right spot every time. Service is consistently great as well.

Came here impromptu for dinner and had an overall excellent experience. The patio is spacious and comfortable. The bar staff are phenomenal. The food was great enough to make my friend, born and raising in Italy, happy (which isnt an easy feat), and the menu options have something for everyone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Unfortunately, the featured entree of "Porterhouse" (at $48), was a huge disappointment and of insultingly bad quality-- a thin, gristly sole less than 1/2" thick. Lydia - you should be ashamed of yourself! The appetizers -- Calmari, Cape Scallops and Scampo Meatballs -- were outstanding, although the Calamari was a very small portion.

I really enjoyed the food and experience here. It was very expensive, so I cant go five stars. But the house made pasta is very good. My spaghetti bolognase was superior. All in all a very nice experience. They also did a very nice job of catering to people in our party who have food intolerances (or allergies).
