My husband and I made a reservation for 6:00 on a Saturday night. We were having a date night and planned to go to the Capitol afterwards. We were seated immediately by the hostess. The restaurant was so loud that we opted to sit next to each other instead of on either side of the table. Two couples who were having drinks and waiting for a table were standing in the aisle next to our table (not in the bar). They were practically screaming at each other to be heard over the din, and the waitstaff had to squeeze by them with loaded trays because they were right in the middle of the narrow aisle. After 10 or 15 minutes of this we and the women in the booth next to us asked the couples to move to the bar (they were also dropping a lot of expletives and there were families seated around us). They were offended and defensive. Strike one, no service -- not even a glass of water, strike two -- it shouldnt be the wild west at a restaurant, manage your bar patrons and dont let them harass diners. Two strikes is all you get. We didnt stay and wont be back.

Got into the restaurant around 2PM on a Saturday. Theres no Hostess, just a middle aged man hitting on a divorced middle-aged woman. Our party of four waits like deer in the headlights--are these poeple customers? Employees? After a solid five minutes of watching thes people interact, the middle-aged man comes up to us and asks where wed like to sit--he was either the owner or a host. Unfortunately, this inconsiderate behavior extended to the waitress as well. She would be by the instant your beer dropped below the 1/3 mark offering you a new one, but processing a check took well over fifteen minutes. They get two stars for the good beer list and food, but the service is almost the worst Ive ever seen.

I have been there several times for lunch and have liked the upscale casual atmosphere with good but not overpriced food and a satisfying beer wine selection. Today maybe I caught them on an off day but the staff was a little forgetful of the details youd expect from good service. It also took about 30 minutes to get our food when the place was not that busy. Not the end of the world...but at lunch time people have tight schedules. I was forced to take my meal to go and eat half while driving and the rest between clients cold. It did taste good at least.

Honestly, I think the only reason this place does any business at all is because it is a bar in Arlington, and its the closest one to N. Cambridge without having to go all the way to Porter. The food is mediocre, and the waitstaff is a bit snooty. But to be fair, most of the customers are pretentious tools, so that kind of evens out. Its not a bad place to meet up with someone for a drink early in the evening, provided you are going someplace else for dinner. Its also a bit pricey for the portions you get.

Disappointing. 1. Told it was a 15 minute wait but it was actually 1 1/4 hour.. 2. Waitress took our drink order. Then returned for the food order 15 minutes later - without the drinks. 3. Had to request salt and pepper as there was none on the table. 4. Finished dinner and sat....and sat.... and sat ...waiting for the waitress to come by. Finally went to the hostess and asked her to send the waitress over as we had finished dinner 20 minutes ago. 5. Food was overpriced and tasted so-so.

They have a very classy food and drink selection. Their bartenders mean business because every drink Ive asked for has been great (even ones I knew at the time Id likely dislike); try black rye - its amazing even if you dont like rye. My only complaint is they dont have any basic appetizers...but they do have a great hummus platter and their other apps are nothing youd expect from a bar you may have never heard of (example: chilled white gazpacho; what bar do you know has that?).

Very nice ambiance. My wife and i came from upstate my for a weekend getaway. We stayed at the homewood suites adjacent to your establishment. We wanted to just have drinks bec wed eaten earlier. The manager made us feel as though it was an inconvenience to seat us at a table bec there was no seats at the bar available. He wasnt too friendly and some of the female bar staff was very standoffish. Its sad bec this place could be a very nice establismentm

I visited this place for dinner last week. We started with an appetizer of PEI mussels, had entrees of steak tips and pork shank, and ended with a dessert of coconut mousse. The mussels were cooked just long enough to be cooked but not too long to be tough. The steak tips were cooked just right such that the inside was still red while the outside was brown. The meat came off the pork shank nicely. It was all pretty good but also pretty pricey.

Met with some friends there with the intentions of having a light bite to eat and drinks. I ended up getting the ribs appetizer and fish and chips dinner (so much for eating light). Both were really good. The Thompson Runner drink proved my wife correct that I am a light weight when it comes to drinking alcohol. Good thing I wasnt driving. We got there at a good time good a Saturday; 5:00pm. We just missed the rush of people who came in.

Pros - Great local place. Excellent live music on Thursdays. Amazing desserts that change weekly. Outdoor seating. Right on the 77 bus route from Harvard Square. Free and easy parking. Cons - can get very noisy even without the band. Dimly lit. Unsuitable place if you want to read books while eating. Menu doesnt change. No bread basket.

I am a regular of the Menotomy. A great place for comfort food, and watching games. Arlignton needed a place for adults to hang-out. Although youth friendly, this is the place. The bar tenders are great, service is great, food is very good for the price. I also convinced them to serve me Pernod the traditional way. Just a great place.

Food is good. Staff is better. They dont get 5 stars because I was told I cant sit at a table if I was only drinking and not eating. I got that in Paris.,...to get that in the US is silly....if the place was packed sure....but as I write this from the place there are more than 12 tables free at 10pm while the live band is playing.

Great bartenders that are professional. Quick drink service but has all the complicated factors made properly in each cocktail. Food is consistant and very tasty. Bartop service available and recommended. Family friendly so bring the kids but after 9pm it is a bar that still has table top service available for a late meal.

First time trying this place. Slow service (found our waitress outside texting), really tough, dry wings (tasty tho) and high prices. Giving it one star since those tasty wings made me sick all through the next couple of days. Wont be returning, there are many better options on mass Ave in either direction.
