This used to be a favorite place to go get above average pub food in Andover. The service was always great and you could hang out on the patio in the summer. I havent been here in a while but my last experience today was horrible. This place seems to have changed. The staff and everyone looks different. First, they used to have an amazingly flavorful chicken marsala that has now been watered down into a leg and breast that may as well be boiled in straight-up water. It came late. There was no flavor. It smelled so awful that my 9 year old complained. I had to send it back. Next I ordered a burger and thought "well its quick and they cant mess this up." I was wrong. The burger came with the hair of whatever you see in the picture. I still cant stop retching. All they offered was to take the food off my bill (can you also erase the memory from of my mind?) They still charged me for the 2 drinks I ordered while waiting over an hour for the food. Didnt even see a manager after sending back two items. Stay away.

Tried this place last Saturday for lunch. We got there shortly after 1pm and were both pretty hungry. As we walked in, the waitress asked us how things were and I replied that I was starving. She said that we came to the right place. Well, not really... The restaurant looked pretty nice inside. The issue was that no one came to see us. They had 2 waiters in the room and a bar tender but neither of them even offered us some bread, water or even say that they are busy (it wasnt that crowded though). We left after 15 minutes of waiting (ok we could have gone to the bar but come on... no service at all?). In my book thats just not acceptable for a restaurant. We might try this place again someday but it might take a while to get over this first experience.

First.. Handicapped parking is non-existent. A kitchen worker (probably on his break), when asked if there was any specified handicapped parking said.... I dont think so...just park wherever someone is leaving. Second.....Just an FYI....the restaurant is "Ahhhndover pricing!! $7.50 for a salad....Not included with meal. Side of mashed potatoes $6.00....seriously???? Extremely overpriced for quality! The young lady who served us was very friendly, BUT the service was VERY slow....and we were the only party in the room!!!! I would NOT recommend!!!

We went there this past Friday. It was the second time Ive been and the food, once again was very good. My girlfriend had the scallops and I had the lamb shanks and we were both quite satisfied with the presentation and the quality of the food. Very tasty. And for us, the service was excellent. Michele was always right there when you needed her. It was like she anticipated our needs. Both times Ive been here, Ive been seated upstairs so I cant vouch for the service down in the bar area but we had a great time. I would definitely recommend it.

Greatest place on a Wednesday or Thursday night...casual dinner at bar...bartender service excellent...Russ knows his customers on first name basis.....has their favorite drink at the ready when they arrive...no waiting...A great retreat after a busy day.....Their simple delicous burgers and fries are to die for...good place for small family celebrations...everyone joins in......Dance floor could be larger....but would perhaps take away from the cozy-ness....

Stay away. The waitress knocked an entire glass of red wine on me - down my shirt and onto my new Armani dress pants. The manager offered to pay everything - dry cleaning and pants if the stain didnt come out. It didnt. Sent them the pictures and the bill as they requested. 5 months later no refund, no call, no email. Not worth the price of a middle of the road fish dinner.

Had a groupon so figured Id try it. So blah for the money. Casa Blanca has great Mexican right down the street for 1/2 the prices. Service was fine. Not sure what is making this restaurant an Andover Institution. Horrible cheesy holiday masak was also dispruptive and blaringly-loud.

My wife and I are new to the Boston region and we are living in Andover for the next few months We tried Palmers the other night and found it very good. The location is good, the service was really good, the beer was cold and the Stuff Shells (special) were great. We will be back.

Went to Palmers, food was ok as well as the service. So many restaurants that top our list and this is not one of them. More of a townie place. People should venture out and find that there are many other fantastic restaurants for less money but most important great food.

Had our holiday party here and received nothing but top notch service. The wait staff was very professional and courteous. The steak with blue cheese was absolutely amazing! Cant comment on price since this was a work sponsored event.

Food was good and they had an average beer selection. Outdoor seating was a huge plus and the wait staff was nice and efficient. There was a live band and was pretty full inside. Crowd was not young (30-50) but they were still rowdy.

A wonderful evening not rushed at all. Excellent Chips and Salsa followed by very nice crabcakes and superb table side guaucamole. Lovely pork chops and nothing but excellent service. Worth the 75 mile drive from round rock.

Met 2 other couples here for a special night out. While the food was high quality it was incredibly underseasoned and the service was below average. Fortunately, cocktails were pretty good!

Terrible food, the tables always feel "sticky" and the ambiance is not for me. I hate going here, which is unfortunate since I live in Andover and there arent many choices.

Good food and service, with interesting and creative weekly specials. Live music Friday and Saturday in the bar. Lively atmosphere after 8pm.

A bit overpriced but great food (although high price is expected being in Andover center). Ambiance is nice. Love the outdoor seating.

Food was horrible. Establishment cares/makes money from booze so food suffers. Service is slow. The $30 steak was from a $10 cut.

They have good drinks. The menu when I visited last only had one vegetarian option. Everyone else in my party loved their meals

I give it four stars, but the service can be slow at times. The calamari appetizer is good. However, the prices are high.
