Completely enjoyed our visit to this restaurant. There 4 of us. Two of us had crispy, fried chicken (1/2 chicken) and western fries. Another had the roast beef and golden french fries lightly covered with a rich, brown gravy. The fourth person had sliced white turkey and mased potatoes with a light, creamy turkey gravy.The dinner included a warm roll, and unlimited soup and salad bar. Soup choice on this day was cream of broccoli and vegetable beef. I had their vegetable beef soup ... excellent! The salad bar had the usual fresh, salad products. It also included things like sweet potatoes, sauerkraut/pork, BBQ chicken, and cold salads. I especially liked the tuna salad. We served ourselves the soup/salad. While eating, our order number was called and we brought our own food to our table. Each dinner came on a platter which was completely filled! Two people could easily have shared one dinner and just ordered another soup/salad. We each took food home with us. My husbands roast beef was piled high and was as good as the chicken. If we lived in the area, wed be regular customers. The restaurant includes take-out, which is excellent for nights after work when too tired to cook. The restaurant is clean, large, and casual dress. Youd feel comfortable in jeans or dress clothes. It handles individual diners or party groups. The best thing about the restaurant, to me, was the quality of the food cooked. The beef is butchered next door to the restaurant, the vegetables do not taste as if coming from a box or can. The food is not fat-free, low-cal, but it is well prepared and not greasy. I think everything (other than salad dressings, etc.) are fresh made right down to their mashed potatoes. Wouldnt a dinner of roast beef, mased potatoes and gravy, a vegetable from the salad bar, and a warm roll taste good about now?

Have never eaten in restaurant, but shop monthly in the shop. Owners have a farm and so their meats come directly from their farm. Meats are fresh and service is timely. They use the numbering or ticket system when its crowded. They offer assistance to the handicapped or if your groceries are heavy. You have the option of ordering your meats wrapped(not sure about extra charges). Hours of operation are 9- 6pm Monday thru Friday. Saturday til 4pm.

This is a great family restaurant. They are not only a restaurant but they have a butcher shop that you can get fresh meats sausage and boxes of ground beef already made into hamburgers. They also have fish and shrimp. They are very friendly and helpful with anything you need!!!! They also have a great bake shop with fresh pies and cinnamon buns!!!!! And a variety of other things!!!! The whole place is family owned and operated!!!!

Went withy wife Jennie, her sister Margaret and Margarets husband Bill. The wives each had the soup & salad bar. The husbands each had the fried chicken dinner with the soup & salad bar. Everything eas excellent. Finished the meal with slices of their frosted raisin bread and a nice helping of cottage cheese topped with apple butter. The best!

Cozy restaurant thats popular with the locals! The staff is young and enthusiastic to serve you with whatever you may ask for. The facility is a vintage style, and they butcher their own meat in another facility next door. They also have a shop seperate from the restaurant seeking fresh meats, breads, etc.

Being part of a butcher shop is only one reason why this place rocks. Their bakery items are fantastic, and you can get a heck of a meal if you just want salad bar only. On my last visit, I had a ribeye sandwich that was well done (as I requested) but still very tender. Down home food done right.

Great family establishment, good food, great prices, generous portions. All meat comes from their farms. Restaurant attached to a butcher shop/general store. Well known and well loved by locals. Fantastic home made deserts, and breads for sale. Pleanty of room for seating, big separate dining spaces.

The review is for the meat shop. If have not been here please try it out. Their meats are bar none. They have sausages, scrapple, steaks, pork and chicken. They will cut a steak any size you wish. This place is a hidden gem and very clean. Try it.

Nice family oriented restaurant, cafeteria style, with a good sized salad bar. About $28 for 2 which included iced tea, but the staff is friendly and the crab soup and Mac & Cheese were really good!
