Alright
Im writing this because I had a really racist encounter with one of the servers at this restaurant. I looked at the menu and I liked the uniqueness of the place. I also like that the menu reads "We dont hire robots so sorry if the servers are unpredictable" I cant say for word, but I found that pretty quirky and I got a laugh out of it. I tried to order and the server gave me really a negative service. He said he was working the patio so I walked directly behind him and he let the door close on me. At that point I was ready to leave and as Im leaving on the man says good we dont need anyone "BLACK" in here. And one of his friends followed with "Freak". As odd as it sounds Ive never had any direct racist experience in my life. And by that, I mean no one has ever treated me badly because of my skin tone up until now in THIS restaurant. I like servers being themselves because it makes the restaurant more authentic, but thats horrible they would hire racist people who will insult their guest and treat them with bad service because they are black. Unbelievable. I will never set foot in there again.

Love the dark beer-cellar eclectic environment and decor, enough to keep your eyes reading during delays in serving. Its open later than most local bars. Service is eclectic, depending on whos serving you-- humans are humans. Some are more human than others lol. Rest rooms-- very european, ie not enough room for one person! Paper towels seem rarely maintained, hand air-blown dryers put out less air than my computer fan and its cold air. Great that they have 6 rotating keg stacks but for a beer-fanatic locale I would think they could up that count a bit-- like doubling to 12 kegs! Can you find the mysterious can of beer half-hanging from a hole in the ceiling in this place? Ha ha. Good luck and have fun. One thing that is occasionally upsetting, as with many other venues where people are trying to enjoy food and drinks and talk, and the music is turned up so blasting loud that no one can hear each other. Its been that way here occasionally but fine volume at other times.

prolly best chill dive bar in Silver Spring. servers all seem to have awesome personalities.. a handful of awesome mustached gentleman, and at least one cute waitress by the name of Jenny. Burgers are bomb. Beer selection is above par. Jukebox has awesome selection of tunage. The bar, overall, has a slightly hipster vibe, but in a non-pretentious chill kinda way. Only downside to this establishment would be that the layout isnt exactly conducive to mingling with people. Making new friends isnt as easy as it should be in a bar this great. This place is great for a group of friends to kick it. Also, rockabilly bands on Saturday nights is fun.

I like this place a lot under the right conditions, but it is certainly a dive. They embrace the dive label, and it works. My main issue is on weekends it is frequently very crowded and very loud, so much so it can sometimes be difficult to hold a conversation. Add live music to that equation and I quickly lose interest. With that said, they have a great beer selection and the food is pretty good. I would rather come here on a Tuesday or Wednesday than a Friday or Saturday.

Lively old-school beloved Tavern in Silver Spring. Longtime basement joint (currently in a temporary nearby location due to fire damage at the original locaiton) with a great curated beer (rating Outstanding on BeerAdvocate for example, prices for what you get are pretty reasonable for DC metro) & (fantastic) whiskey menu. Bar food is quite good here and not fancy (organic burgers, tater tots). Quarry House has a jukebox & live music as well. Laidback vibe.

Typical bar food selection (burgers, wings, etc) but much better quality/taste than most bars. Great beer selection and jukebox. But best of all, IMHO, is the extensive whiskey selection. If youre a single-malt enthusiast and are interested in trying a wee dram or two, the Quarry House is worth a visit. For anyone from NYC, its a lot like Welcome to the Johnsons on the lower East side (but with a much better beer and scotch selection).

Local favorite! A great little dive bar with reasonably prices food and about a million drink options. The best deal has to be the Monday half off burgers, plus they give you tater tots! Where else can you get those other than at a school lunch cafeteria. But seriously the tater tots are good. If youre a fan try the totchos, nacho toppings on a bed of tater tot. The wings are also one of my favorites, saucy but no soggy.

The service at the Quary House is beyond abysmal. Theres no host to seat your party so you have to fight (sometimes physically) for a table with other patrons. It took our party of four all of FOUR HOURS from sit down to walking out the door for dinner and 3 drinks, including 25 minutes between asking for the check and receiving the check. Food ordered came out over an hour later and was stone cold! I will never return.

I absolutely love this bar...it is by far one of my favorite places to take friends. Mind-blowing selection of beer and whiskey. Only complaints is that it is just so small it is difficult to find seating and be served in a timely fashion. Its size is part of its charm, but I wish the service could be a little bit quicker. All in all, I love it though- definitely see for yourself!

They are famous for their Toasted Cheese Sandwich, but the real deal is their extensive beer list and of course their wings. Went there last night. The live Band was not our taste playing mostly 50-60s music, but we will most definitely be back for more of the incredible wings and their homemade blue cheese sauce. Large selection of great local and european beers for around $5.

Love the quarry house. Best burger and wings in the entire area! Every time I go I have a great time hanging out with my friends. They have half off burgers on Mondays and 20% off whiskey on Wednesdays. The place can become very busy, but it is worth the wait. They have a massive beer selection too! Ive been coming here for over a year and overall I loving coming here to eat.

Great atmosphere and perfect for a date or group of friends. They know good beer and whiskey, if you want bud light its under the "Crap Beer" section of the multi page beer and whiskey menu. Tater tots and beer is a fantastic combo (Bacon, cheese, and tots with a Porter is my goto). I have not found food there which I would not eat again.

The prompt for this asks me to describe my experience at the QH. INCONCEIVABLE! Food is good, bourbon is better, the staff is the best. Theyre not open yet today...if they had any windows Id go stare in them like a creeper till they let me in. Instead Ill just stand at the bottom of the stairs and wait.

They refused to serve me or my guests because one person in the group had a valid out of state license that was vertical (but indicated their age was over 21). They claimed that it is enforced everywhere but that is the ONLY place weve had an issue. Poor customer service and very rude toward us.
