Never have I ever had such delicious Italian food before. This isnt some mediocre pseudo Italian restaurant like Olive Garden or even Macaroni Grill. Everything tastes homemade and authentic. Their eggplant/chicken parmesan is to die for. Their lasagna bolognese is also a solid choice. You dont necessarily need an appetizer if you dont want to shell out extra for it--they give you fresh bread served with oil and vinegar as well as a fresh appetizer salad--but I would suggest doing so anyway since its so good. My favorites are the Arancini and their two Mozzarella covered bread appetizers, though I would like to try their seafood (cant since I go with my partner who has allergies). They have a well stocked bar, but dont be fooled by the massive amount of martinis on their cocktail menu--these arent like any martinis youve had before. Most are lighter on the vodka and stronger on mixes of wine and other liquors, and all have a really unique flavor. The upside down pineapple tastes just like the cake, the espresso is the best little coffee martini, and anything they have with mint is so refreshing. They are on the pricey side and a bit hard to get to being in downtown Silver Spring, so I dont go often, but when I do I always enjoy myself. The atmosphere is so warm and relaxing but it also manages to feel so trendy. If you live in the area, this is a must-go date location and a great place to catch a delicious dinner.

We came for $5 martini night. I ordered the pineapple upside-down martini and my husband ordered the key lime pie martini. Though as martinis go they were alright, they did not channel the flavors of the deserts they were named after as many other martinis have succeeded to do. It felt like they tried to be different but just ended up being mediocre. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer which was overpowered by old bay seasoning. It was a pretty unexciting, "applebees" like appetizer that I didnt expect out of a local place that bragged about making things in house. After these two flops we decided that wed save our money and have dinner else where. This was a real disappointment as the decor was really quite lovely and inviting. I expected more and was let down.

I went to olazzo for the second time this week and it was just as good as I remember it being the time. It was my 2nd wedding anniversary dinner and we wanted to go somewhere cozy and close to home. Our food was very good and the service was also great. The server checked in just enough times to be attentive--yet not annoying. We were seated in the back room and it was a bit tight/cramped at our table. The tables could stand to be a little bigger to accommodate the large plates the food is served on. We had the calamari to start (yum) and I had chicken Alfredo and my husband had chicken parm...both were very tasty. Ill definitely be returning to olazzo in the future.

Barf my guts out. More like, "NO-lazzo." This is SYSCO boxed food reheated by drop outs at its finest. My "chicken parmesan" was breaded somewhere in a factory in the midwest, flash frozen, shipped in a semi with WOW written in the dust on the trailer and then freshly fried by a guy with tattoos on his face. It had the consistency of warmed raw fish and tasted like nothing more than generic brand spaghetti sauce– a lot of work for a 1/4 thick piece of factory farmed meat. If youre looking for fine Italian in Silver Spring, go to the next more expensive place. Olazzo isnt even Olive Garden in a fancy façade.

Very good food and service! Just got back from Sicily a few weeks ago. Food is authentic and enjoyed the cozy ambiance---except there was a disconnect With the music being played. Something that sounded like rap music and other stuff that didnt seem to go with the Italian theme. Really rap music??? I mentioned this to the waitress she said the owner is Italian and this is the vibe he wants to project for his restaurant! Its like going into a Chinese or Indian restaurant and hearing rap or the Beatles music. Not authentic in that sense! Be true to who you are. Rap, NO! it was disconcerting.

Ive been a long-time fan of Olazzos; the cozy atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the top-notch food make this a go-to favorite. Roberto and his brother Ricardo set out to feature the food their mother and grandmother made them, and you can taste the love they put in each and every dish. Their fastidiousness extends to the rustic brick walls, the wooden ceiling beams they built themselves, and the flat-screen TV-cum-fireplace is a smart and inviting feature. You wont find a bad item on the menu, and youd be hard-pressed to leave without a smile on your face. Buon appetito!

Nice atmosphere, but thats about all that can be said in favor of the place. The arancini were OK. Not fabulous, but passable. The marinara they were served with, however, was goopy and sweet and tasted as if it had come out of a bottle. The penne with sausage was an embarrassment. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was the same as had come with the arancini, and two lengths of parboiled Italian sausage had been lazily plopped on top of the whole concoction. To top it all off, the parmesan was fake (the type of stuff you get in an aluminum can).

I thought I didnt like Italian food in general, but this place made me raise my eyebrow and take a look at Italian food differently. Solid solid pasta dishes. Al dente texture and a very well balanced taste. Their pasta source is oozed with the original ingredient flavor for some reason, I can taste the freshness of their tomatoes or the clam source with white wine in a pretty awesome harmony. Eggplant dish was spectactular! I will go back for their eggplants. Also got great list of craft beer, absolutely a great spot for Italian food.

Love this restaurant! The drinks are awesome! The food is awesome! The service is top-notch. Been here several times. Great date night spot! The exposed brick, dark wood, and dimly lit candles make for a super romantic ambiance. In my experience, their clientele consists mostly of couples and young professionals. I always get the Shrimp Rosé which has penne pasta, a creamy tomato sauce, shrimp, and crabmeat. The portion sizes are huge! The dishes come with salad and bread. Highly recommend! #cityexperts

Too expensive and bougie for the quality of food. I ordered fried chicken over pasta. The pasta arrived with what suggested that it might have sauce on it, lol. I said bring me about a half cup of sauce please. Dumped that over the chicken and pasta and it was fine. Bland, had to get a little crazy with the pepper shaker to add some flavor. 2 pasta dishes, 4 glasses of mediocre wine and 2 tiny scoops of ice cream was $91. Wouldnt return or recommend. Olive Garden is better.

Small bar with a restaurant. We ordered take out coming off the Metro heading back to the hotel. Food was very good. Had the Chicken Alfredo (chicken was over cooked though), ravoili rose, sausage and peppers, and meatball sandwich (the cook made my son a sandwich although not ok menu). Service was very good and both the bartender and the greeter/waitress were pleasant. The bar/restaurant was clean and quiet although a little dark lighted for my taste.
