It was possibly the worst excuse for Italian food Ive ever experienced! The restrooms even had blowers to dry your hands. Something youd expect at a Dennys perhaps. The food was bad! The reviews I read were misleading and inaccurate. If you are looking for even mediocre Italian food, you wont find it at Tortino. The waiter compared a white fish special ( likely Bassa farmed fish) to Sea Bass. That was simply a lie! The lamb chop which was good meat, unlike the old and bad fish, wasnt marinated, and therefore tough as leather, and tasteless as well. The wine we ordered was great! And, reasonably priced. But as a dining experiences go this was a disaster! If you are looking for a reasonable Italian food experience in Washington, D.C. DO NOT GO TO TORTINO! You will be disappointed. I am a true Foody and this was as bad an experience as I could ever imagine. I am loathed to give it even one star!

Great restaurant to go for Friday night dinner. The food was pretty good for its price (mid-range) and the service was great. We had pan seared scallops and it was pretty nice. My friend ordered the special, lobster ravioli and the cream was exceptional; have to say it is one of the best ravioli we ever had. I had the pan seared duck breast and the dressing was superb as well as the tenderness of the meat. The server recommended us the chocolate cake for dessert; it was not bad. The cocktails are lower than average though, plain and not interesting at all. Our overall dining experience was great. Note: not a very quiet place if you want a place for conversation.

My boyfriend and I wanted a nice restaurant for our anniversary, so we opted for Tortino. In a near empty restaurant we were seated by the kitchen (literally the food runners were tripping over us), and my boyfriend was carded (curtly) for wine. While we look like a young couple, we definitely felt we were being treated as such. I have no issues with carding, but be polite! Were paying too! The food is decent, but not really mind blowing to me. Its rather stuffy inside, and the staff is pretty short with you. For a $100 meal, I can go elsewhere. Also, we were overcharged by $6 for the wine, but at that point, I was ready to leave.

SO GOOD! When i was visiting with my sister, we were craving Italian food and when we looked up places near us, Tortinos popped up and i am so happy it did! Its a pretty small restaurant but it felt very cozy. The staff were BEYOND helpful helping us order! Since it was our first time there, the staff were so excited we chose them! They really helped us when we were trying to figure out what to eat and they would check up on us very often to make sure we liked what we were getting! The food so beyond delicious and the staff were unforgettably friendly. I would highly recommend Tortino and I would definitely go back again!

We reserved a table for 8 people. Upon our arrival, the table was ready, however two of our people were still on the way. Our server was asked to get our orders until they arrive. However he was rudely and kind if arrogantly refused to do that. He was like "we are very busy now and its difficult for the kitchen to make your orders now while people are still joining you." However, we just wanted to order a starter to kill the time. As opposed to their not very welcoming servers, the quality of food and the potions were pleasantly satisfying. The seafood looked very fresh and the lamb shank was mouthwatering.

We went here this weekend after my daughters college graduation with a big party of 9 people. Amazing! I was nervous because I had booked the reservation based on reviews that I read. It surpassed our expectations. Many in our group got the Seafood Risotto and it was amazing! The staff is really great. Someone misordered thinking they were getting the special, but got something else. Our waiter immediately made the substitution and didnt charge us for the extra plate. Its not a fancy or formal place but not too informal. We will definitely return to this little neighborhood gem.

Food was outstanding. Atmosphere is upscale, but comfortable, not stuffy. Our waiter, Jon (Jonathan I think), was efficient and friendly while remaining considerate of the fact we were spending a lot of time talking with someone we had not seen in many years. The restaurant itself was also very accommodating when we added a 3rd guest at the last minute and arrived about 15 minutes late due to traffic congestion.

Being a very picky Italian from the Northeast, its not often Ill say this: but this is authentic Italian food. This *tiny* restaurant is on the expensive end, but worth the rare visit if treating a companion to a special meal. Service here is excellent & very friendly. Due to the size: reservations are strongly recommend (especially if you have your mind set on what little outdoor seating they have).

The quality is always excellent here. This is our neighborhood Italian spot and we love how they handle our kids, large groups, or a special night out. There is no kids menu, but our kids like pasta with butter. Every time, I find myself stealing their food because the plain pasta is just that good! Entrees are always delicious and the vegetables are fresh and tasty.

All six of my family members completely cleaned our plates. The food was delicious. Service was pretty good. Fresh, house made pasta that didnt disappoint. The spinach salad is a great starter. I had the porcini infused pasta with lamb ragu and meritage red wine. It rivaled most meals that I had in Italy. Will certainly be back!

This is an amazing Italian restaurant. Clean basic dishes with incredible flavors. No heavy sauces and great care taken to highlight the best of the meats and fish. Soups are outstanding and the desserts are not heavy. Above all the service was impeccable. Highly recommend - my favorite DC restaurant. Well priced too!

Great food, great service. Its a small place in a residential area of Logan circle, DC. Took my mom here for her birthday and she was impressed - it takes a lot to impress her! We had the crab ravioli and it was beautifully delicate and light. The tiramisu was excellent as well. Everything is made fresh in house.

Authentic italian restaurant one of the good ones. I loved the raw meat and the complimented wine by the server was fantastic. Felt really special as the place is cozy and servers dressed and treat with gratitude as my mother was asking many questions about how its made :)

这家各种意面都非常赞,墨鱼汁意面和海鲜意面都很好吃,三文鱼也不错。而且价格很合理,人均20左右。

If you havent tried this restaurant... You need to. You wouldnt expect much from looking from the outside, but when your in you will enjoy. We tried the pork chop and salmon and it was marvelous. The presentation was very good and the service was accommodating.

I went here for lunch and all was excellent. Authentic Italian. And not crowded for lunch. Risotto special was spectacular, as was appetizer special (grilled octopus, squid, and shrimp). Service was great, too. Would definitely go back.

Hidden gem, In town vacationing. Found this little gem in the local listings. Prices are very reasonable, yet it is upscale with attentive staff and good food. Wife had pasta and I had roast duck breast. Excellent food great prices.
