The Breakfast Shoppe is a nice cozy spot located in Severna Park, MD that backs up their name " The Breakfast Shoppe". They have nice big portions that will have you leaving full and satisfied at the end of your meal. Its a very lively and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the minute you walk in, with the assistance of their great staff your sure to have a great breakfast experience. Next time your looking for something other than your typical chain breakfast spot, stop by and brighten up your morning! The menu is made up of breakfast favorites including pancakes, french toast, Benedicts, and steak and eggs. The items are mostly sold al a carte unless you get the "Whole Nine Yards" breakfast which includes: fresh oj, two eggs made your way, choice of meat, pancakes or french toast, home fries, and toast. You will definitely have to loosen your belt for this one, but will enjoy every bite. The pancakes and french toast are hot and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness that would make any breakfast fans morning. The only issue Ive seen so far, was someone ordered eggs fried hard and it wasnt quite to their liking; other than that The Breakfast Shoppes food is a winner in my book! A highlight from my most recent visit was the Philly Benny which was a Eggs Benedict topped with sirloin steak, onions, and swizz cheese. It was my first time trying a Benedict, which our waitress recommended. Lets just say, once again I was not disappointed! My meal came out piping hot and the hollandaise sauce was smooth creamy and very flavorful. The steak was a little under seasoned for my liking, but the hollandaise made up for the lack of seasoning and I enjoyed every bite! If your a Benedict fan id recommend trying one when you go.

I recently went to the new location of the Breakfast Shoppe. I havent been there since I was little and thought it was worth a try. An old friend and I went on a Saturday morning. We waited for about 20min or so, which is to be expected at this establishment. Once we were sat, our drink and food orders were taken in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the eggs benedict Florentine. I was really kind of shocked that all varities of this dish were almost 11 dollars. I am a vegetarian and I wanted the traditional without meat, but figured I should try something more if I am going to pay 11 bucks. The food took at least 30 min to arrive and the table next to us, who was seated after us, was served first (I hate that!). My friends food (a waffle) was fine. My food was ok, but my egg was overcooked and I found shells in one. I have not spit out food in a long time, but I spit this out. Yes, I should have said something, but I figured I did not want to wait another 30 min for a new dish, so I just sucked it up. Overall, I was not impressed with this place. It was way over priced with ok service and a long wait in general.I will say though, that the atmosphere and decor looked great. However, I probably will not return to this establishment. :(

I used to love this place when it was at the old location. Sure, the food would take awhile to get to you but at least it was hot. Today my wife and I went to the new location for the first time and it was very disappointing. We were seated quickly, which was a plus but once that happened it took forever to have our drink order taken and eventually a hostess had to do it. The waitress had four two-top tables in her section and still seemed somehow unable to cope. We waited 40 minutes for our food to be brought out and it was cold, and to make it even better..the couple seated next to us got their food 15 minutes before us and we had been seated 15 minutes before them!! What was really sad was that the only person working there that seemed to have an idea of what was going on or trying to take care of customers was the busboy and I actually asked him why he wasnt waiting tables instead?? The only good thing during this visit was the food. Even cold it was still delicious...but all the aggravation and waiting really took alot out of it. One last thing: Ever since I washed dishes, bussed, and waited tables 15 years ago I ALWAYS tip 20%. Today was the first time Ive ever left less and it killed me to even leave that.

Horrible. After a supposed 25 minute wait we were told we were next to be seated, this is 45min since after arriving. Then after being told we were next we promptly waited with the other patrons at the hostess desk, I might add we were next to be seated. The hostess then proceeded to tell us we cannot be there due to fire code. I lost it. No one else was asked to move, I was carrying a baby and out of all the other parties with a 45+ minute wait we were told to move. Breakfast Shoppee needs to understand fire regulations and manage their restaurant accordingly. I can tell you first had as a restaurant contractor the fire code was never jeopardized. Furthermore their staff needs to accurately provide a honest wait time. Ive eaten their three times never without an issue. I would instruct anyone reading this to forgo the sloppy service, poorly managed restaurant and go to Iron Rooster in Annapolis.

The reasons for the low rating was our service today. Charmaine was awful. She never smiled and was not very nice to be honest. I had to go to the counter twice myself to refill my coffee. We had other servers drop off the food and then they rushed off without asking if we needed anything. I could not get my servers or anyone elses attention to come help us. I finally asked the busboy for some salsa. He must of told the sever who eventually came to our table to ask if I needed something. By the time she brought the salsa my meal was almost gone. The prices are extremely high. I was so disappointed and honestly felt like I wasted $63.00. That was for 3 breakfast meals, 3 ojs and 3 coffee. McDonalds across the street probably would of been better. I was a server for 5 years and am very understanding so for me to write this negative review it means a lot.

I joined my family for a Saturday brunch at The Breakfast Shoppe. Everyone at my table was very happy with their selections from the menu but my dish was different than I expected so I decided to eat my husbands pancakes instead. My waitress noticed and not only offered to take the dish away and bring me something else but the owner/manager came over to reiterate that they would bring me whatever else I wanted and then gave me a gift certificate for a future visit!! I couldnt believe it - it was the BEST example of going above and beyond for a customer I have witnessed in a long time. I would visit this restaurant again and again and recommend it to anyone who asked.

Went for breakfast on Saturday morning, the initial wait of twenty minutes before we were seated was expected due this restaurants great reputation at the old location. Menu options were ok but not spectacular, no hash browns seriously?? Food took over 45 minutes to arrive, pancakes were burned on the bottom and sent back, after another wait the replacements arrived and were heavy and doughy. What kind of breakfast cafe cannot even cook pancakes? Also lachs was incredibly salty. Long waits, noisy atmosphere poor food, a real disappointment considering the high prices and reputation. Dennys and IHOP are better bets.
