We arrived Saturday evening around 5:30 just before the dinner crowd and were immediately seated. As we entered we asked the hostess if they were serving soft crab that evening. She checked and to our happy surprise announced "Yes!" Five minutes later the waiter pours our water glasses and takes our drink orders. He returns with the drinks then asked if we were ready to order. We asked for just a few minutes, so he leaves us. Almost 20 minutes later, he returns. For most of this time, I observed 4 staff just chatting away around the hostess station not 10 feet from our table. Lack of attention to the customer. In a polite hurried attitude, he asked us for our order. I asked about a special written on the board and this turned out to be a discrepancy between the printed version of the nights special and what was printed on the chalk board. Oh well..... Gee Wiz were sorry.... I only bring this up because I could understand if something happened after printing menu inserts that at may cause them to change the specials, but it was the chalk board that was wrong. Simply a lack of attention to detail. Placing our orders, my father asked about a soft crabs entree, the waiter said that the they only had a soft crab sandwich, but did go back to the chef to see if there was an entree option, returning to say no, that the crabs were already floured for the sandwich. This is a shame because my mother ordered the crab cake sandwich and found the crab was good but the sandwich fixings made a mess of everything. She ended up eating the crab and leaving the rest. A couple of those fried soft crabs and a few vegetables would have made a very fine entree..... Both my parents ordered the Irish Onion Soup, which turned out to be a broth with a few big pieces of onion on the bottom. Floating on the broth was a piece of toast with partially melted cheese. It was clear that the bowl was simply put under a broiler just long enough for the cheese to start to melt but long enough for the cheese to begin to dissolve into the broth. By the time the soup reached the table, the cheese was solidified. It could be cut with a knife. My father ordered the shrimp scampi. Nothing remarkable except very little spinach and only a few grape tomatoes. For an appetizer I ordered the calamari. This wasnt bad. About half the pieces were tender with a crispy crust. The others were a bit chewy. My entree, the crab stuffed turbot was the greatest disappointment of the evening. This dish had great potential but fell short primarily due to a lack of attention. The stuffing turned out to be more a thin crab imperial sauce with bits of spinach. Very little crab meat could be found. The turbot was overcooked yet cold when it came to the table. In fact the entire entree was cold, especially the plate. The turbot was served on a bed of vegetables including sliced potato, green beans carrots and brussel sprouts. While attractively plated and a good combination the vegetables were cold and the carrots and brussel sprouts under cooked. By the time we finished our meal and left, the waiting list was out the door..... I though to myself, "Wow! Is this all Salisbury has to offer?????"

Crab cakes were not lump, small and over priced. You would think a "high end" restaurant would serve a better crab cake than what you get from the frozen food department at the grocery store. Filet mignon was ordered well done but brought to the table blood rare. For some reason they didnt have any heat on when we arrived. The heat kicked in and then stopped working again before we finished eating. The only people getting waited on properly had bottles of wine table side. My wife doesnt drink, and I dont drink alone. When a patron has a 100 dollar check for dinner for two, they deserve the same service a anyone else. We should not have had to stop our waitress and ask for refills on our sofas...especially seeing as she was at the table next to us every five minutes to pour some more wine. Chicken quesadilla for the appetizer was the best part off the whole meal. I tried this place over ten years ago based on reviews and gave it a second try only to confirm my first impression....way overrated. I dont know why it is saying that I "Liked the Food, Service, and Value.......obviously I didnt.

The food was good (if they can manage to cook it right..), and the atmosphere was great, but the service was horrendous. Our waiter was rude, inattentive, and snippy. We asked for a gluten free menu (which is poorly done in itself) and he never gave it to us, we had to get up and go ask for one again. My sister got a Stella cider, but didnt get a glass and had to ask for one, and then received the wrong kind of glass. Then our food took ages to be served: an hour and a half before we got our entrées. My mother asked for medium-well steak and got it very rare. Furthermore, our water refills began to taste like water-downed ginger ale for an unexplained reason. My family tried to take my mother out for a nice Mothers Day dinner and Market Street Inn did not deliver. Certainly would not recommend, unless you have the patience of Rory Williams.

DONT GO HERE!! This place is terrible. Service was rude and the food was horrible. Our server Ashley was snarky towards us from the very beginning and it took forever for anything to come to the table. We waited over an hour for our food only for it to be burnt and disgusting. All 3 burgers were burnt and not even a little burnt it was entirely burnt like the cooks just didnt care. My friend got shrimp scampi and it was sweet like they had put sugar on it for some unknown reason. The portions were small and the food was expensive. Theres no theme to the restaurant just dark. The hostess wasnt even friendly when we came in. I will never go here again. I wish I could give it zero stars.

My wife and I had seen the picture of the restaurant on the Internet and thought it looked like a good place for dinner. The picture was taken from across the water and when we drove up the ambience from the parking lot almost had us leave. We are glad we stayed, however. The Service was excellent and the interior was very well done. We would have liked a table by the window, but all the tables were reserved so we were seated at an inside room table. The Server was responsive and made good suggestions. All the food we had was very tasty and hot. If we are back in Salisbury, we would not hesitate to go back again.

For the price of the food and the amount of people that WERENT in the restaurant one would think they would be happy to serve hungry guests. I was wrong. The COOKS could be heard shouting, cursing, and complaining about the special instructions we needed on our dish and other dishes rung in while we were there. If it wasnt for the guests they ex-cons in the kitchen making food wouldnt have a job. SMALL PORTIONS, HIGH PRICES, and COOKS who dont want to cook food earned this place two stars.
