Thought we may have found a gem and had good reviews from one friend, so thought wed try this place out. It was a cold evening, and so was the restaurant. We asked for more heat. They turned it up for a few minutes and then it was cold again. The dining area is near the bar, and this provided an unnecessary noise experience. We started out with a Brie en Croute, with a French bagette. It was promised in 15 to 20 minutes and was served in 35 minutes. We chose the only decent Cab Red by the glass on the menu and they were out of it. Settled for a Syrah that was just ok. Finally got entrees. I had a fillet of beef tapas with risoto. The 4 oz fillet of beef was good, but very expensive for USDA Choice. The risotto tasted good, but was consitancy of a thick glue. My wife ordered the shrimp and pasta meal that only comes as an entree. The taste was mediocre, the pasta not fresh and there were only 4 shrimp. I rip off for the price. Actually, our impression was that this restaurant was all about the money and very little about the food or service. We finally got our bill. The total was $135!! We pointed this out to the waitress who, once again, had paid little attention. The bill was $50 high with food we hadnt ordered! The waitress then brought back the corrected bill with the comment "your bill has been corrected". Nothing else was said. No apology. No offer of any kind. Unless you have a tolerance for over priced iffy food and substandard service, VA Beach now as many better restaurants, with more pride in their work.

My friends and I went for happy hour, it was alright but nothing great and very over priced. The drinks that we got tasted like they had the minimal amount of alcohol in them. We only got starters because everything is about $9 and up, mind you these are tapas as in about 1 piece for 3 people meaning $3 per tomato slice for just the starters. We were the only people at a table, everyone else was sitting at the bar. Theyve tried to price themselves as a trendy tapas place but thats not the vibe we got from the bar group. Overall it was over priced for the generic food we got.

We waited an hour for our food. Missed our movie, had to move our ticket time back. Still waited another hour for our food. Got it 5 min before the movie started so had to scarf it down. The couple next to us didnt get their food and left to go see their movie. A couple at the bar also had to move their movie tickets back, dont know if they ever got their food. If you have a restaurant next to a movie theater you should expect your rushes to before movie times. Everyone was friendly but Ive never had worse food service. 2 hours for appetizers!!?!?!

Finally a great local place to go to without all the smoke, obnoxious beach crowds and chain restaurants. Discovered this place by chance after a movie. Very friendly atmosphere. Had many regular patrons there who introduced themselves to us and we felt welcomed. Loved the different martinis, and our food was wonderful. Spicy Thai beef, rice balls and a pasta special. Will defiantly come back to try more!

Nice atmosphere, however, it took too long to get two burgers and fries. My boyfriend and I went there for some lunch before seeing a movie, we asked for medium burgers, it took 15-20 mins to get two well done burgers. Not to mention you have to pay $1 for cheese and its not even melted on the burger. The fries were delicious though. Perfectly cooked. Just wish the burgers were as good the fries.

We stopped in for a quick bite. First sign of trouble; happy hour specials served with Burnettes. We ordered chicken nachos and steak nachos. Never again. I only tool 4 bites and I want my stomach back. Barely any cheese with lots of mayo sauce instead. Very disappointing. I will definitely not be back. I hope this place goes out of business soon.

I have been to this place many times and it is always hit or miss. The patrons at the bar and even sometimes at tables can be loud, obnoxious and drunk. The service last time we went was terrible. It took almost an hour for my husband to get his main course. Dinner for 2 was well over $100 so it isnt cheap.

I went last night with a friend while waiting for our movie to start. We ordered 2 drinks each and while it took a few minutes for a waitress to address us at our table the drinks were great, cheap and the bartender was friendly. The food looked great so Ill probably go again soon.

The food is great. But I was very disappointed when I took my mom out Saturday for Mothers day in hopes of eating here and they werent open yet. Online it says they open at 11am. We walked up and were so sad to have to turn around and find somewhere else to eat.

Very disrespectful bartenders. Kicked four people out of the bar because they didnt tip him on their credit card but held cash in their hand to give to him. Once they gave the bartender the cash, he threw it at the customer. So terrible to watch.

Horribly made cocktails. I ordered a Manhattan that came out like a bad rum and coke. Waitress was slow, confused, and un-knowledgeable of the menu. Dirty seating area. The windows looked like they havent been cleaned in months.

Great food, though it comes at staggered times. Very cute mish mash type of place, you have rustic bits with a touch of something else. Very clean bathroom, smelled nice actually so thats a plus. Nachos are A++ and not too spicy.

Great vibe, small and cozy. A nice find for a local place to go for a good cocktail and "small bites". I had the fried green tomatoes....it was great! going back again for a girls night out. Hope I have another good experience.

The name should be changed. This place has simple bar food. I doubt anything was freshly prepared. If you want a cheese burger and crinkle cut fries just like you had in school, this is your place.

The only place in Hampton Roads for real Italian food. The owner, Maria, is an absolute treasure and has very high standards for what comes out of her kitchen.
