The Rex is where my daughter who works on PAX NAS ended up taking us for dinner after a fun filled day driving around Southern Maryland. We walked in and were greeted immediately by a friendly and attentive staff. Our waitress, Emily, whom I found out through pleasant banter was the manager, made the experience memorable. I opted for the special and was astonished by the plethora of flavorful experiences making my mouth sing. Steak Del Monico topped with crab, accompanied by asparagus, polenta, and cheese topped waffle fries. Simply put, AWESOME! Washington Street Tacos got rave reviews from the wife and the St Marys Stuffed Ham was well received and thoroughly consumed. Mac n Cheese with ham and pineapple??? Who comes up with this stuff? A hero according to my table, thats who! Dont miss this treasure of Southern Maryland creativity!

Love this unique restaurant bar in Leonardtown! They are always hosting fun events and live music every weekend. Last weekend they hosted a masquerade party to celebrate Mardi Gras, complete with New Orleans themed buffet, a photo booth, and music by their talented house DJ. The fun Rex staff members always keep things exciting. They have a solid wine and beer list too, although I always want to see more local products on the menu :) Everything that I have tasted off the menu has been phenomenal! Their interesting popcorn flavors are addicting -youve been warned. The Rex is a must try if you are in Leonardtown!

The food was exceptional. The wait staff was good and attentive as well. We had a party of 8, and ordered the reuben, a few burgers, the fish tacos, and a few appetizers. Everything was great. My only complaint is we went around 6pm to dinner, well before a late night crowd is usually out. The music was very loud, and the lights were very dim. My parents had to break out their cell phones to read the menu! Other then that, the food was absolutely fantastic, and they do not water down their drinks.

Will likely not return any time soon... service and food were mediocre. Two of us were served while the others waited 10 more minute to be served. Custom burger orders were all messed up; we requested lightly toasted buns, got plastic hard ones instead, ordered medium cooked meat, got them well done. Caramelized onions, tomatoes and ketchup were also missing from the burger orders. We did not get what we paid for...

The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated and seemed really cool at first. However our waitress was curt and it felt like we (the customers) were bothering her. My brother is vegetarian and we kept having to ask questions and it took us awhile to order. We got pizza and it didnt taste very original for how much they charge you for it. It almost tasted like a frozen pizza. I wouldnt go back...

Drive from NC and didnt get in till late. Kitchen was closing but they kindly agreed to stay open for us to grab a bite at 9:30 on a Monday night when most other restaurants were already closed. Shrimp Tacos were great and we loved their homemade secret sauces. THANKS so much for the great kind service late night. They even had Devils backbone which is a beer we love!

The bartender was talking to her friend: she kept putting me on hold the two times I tried to get her attention politely. So I waited. For half an hour. When she finally started pouring drinks, I realized she was so drunk she poured half the drink over the bar. Later on, they charged me twice. Needless to say, I wont go back if I dont have to.

Granted Ive never been here when its been hoppin, like on Friday and Saturday nights at 10-12am, etc, I usually stop at around 4-7pm and this place is always great. The staff is very nice and the food is great too, typical bar fair bit its always fresh and tastes great! They have music on certain nights as well.

Food is outstanding. Staff is very helpful. Hungarian cabbage soup was this weeks special and it was superb. A bit heavy on the pepper side, but other than that simply perfect. Tuesday here is Trivia night and it was just a cheery on the cake to already great night out. There is plenty of parking outside.

The cook( Shamal )was absolutely fantastic! The food was perfectly cook, with a beautiful presentation. We ordered off the menu, he made a handcrafted meal just for us. Not only was the food amazing but he personally brought it out. We were completely blown away. -A perfect Valentines Day

So we came on a Saturday night. The front doors were left wide open the entire time. It was hot inside and the flies were a complete annoyance. We werent the only hot people inside. The food was ok, my order was goofed but my wifes was on par. Sorry The Rex - we wont be back. :/

Nice spot in Leonardtown, very cool decor as it was previously a movie theater. Nice, but small outdoor seating area on the street. Food is VERY good for bar food. Drinks/service lack a bit, but overall a decent stop.

Cant say enough good things about this place. Staff was great. ..Lindsey and Joe were nice enough to show me the old theater and not kidding when I say the buffalo wings were the best I ever had. MUST COME HERE
