I have been very disappointed in the service the last several times I have been to Caseys. At one time this was my favorite restaurant! But it seems like they train the wait staff to have a certain air that is not hospitable or friendly. Not outwardly rude but just on the hairy edge. Definitely not attentive or responsive to issues. A dinner last year came out horrible and I asked for a replacement, the waiter refused. Another day I brought my staff in for lunch, and drink orders were missed, late, etc with no apologies or efforts to correct, last week I had cream of crab soup with a LOT of shells... brought it to staff attention, and I got an "OK" with no apology, no offer to make it right. And thats the way they roll at Casey Jones anymore. For the price, they should do better and they used to.

American eclectic menu, local produce, fresh seafood in season. Daily specials, often heavy on fresh fish. Insiders secret: Voted one of the best wine bargains by Washingtonian Magazine and a perennial Top-100 Restaurant favorite. Main dining room is quiet with a view of the open kitchen. The bar and railroom can be loud when crowded. Check the website for live music and special events. In downtown La Plata, a short drive from MD Route 301. If you want to avoid I-95 and the Capital Beltway on a long north-south trip, come on by way of Route 301 and stop for a good meal. Northbound traffic pays no toll over the Governor Harry Nice Potomac River Bridge. Dont forget to stop for cheap cigarettes in Dahlgren Virginia.

We had a reservation for 5:00 pm. We arrived a few minutes early and the doors were not open. We went to the bar and waited for them to open the doors. At 5 minutes after we walked up to the hostess stations. She acted like we were intruding. She finally acknowledged that we were standing there and we were taken to a table that backed up to a party with a screeching child. I asked to be seated somewhere else. i was told all the tables were reserved. Hello I had a reservation. The food has not been gerat the last few times we have eaten there. Needless to say I WILL NEVER GO BACK. ! Good luck to those of you who brave being treated so badly. This used to be m favorite restaurant. Not any more!!!!!!!!!

I usually enjoy having lunch with colleagues and clients at the Crossing. Unfortunately, the cream of crab soup was not up to par today and after the second spoonful, I returned the bowl to the server explaining that I something was missing. She removed the bowl from the table but not from the bill. I asked her about it and she then informed me that my soup was boxed up and waiting for me to take home. The manager told her the soup tasted okay. I was quite surprised and I will find another restaurant to dine with clients. I declined the offer to take the soup and I will find another restaurant to dine with my clients.

Unprofessional management and ridiculous policies; about 80% of the employers, including managers, were very unpolite and did not hesitate to display to their customers that their time and experience was not valued above the rest. Rude and even a woman who claimed to be the owner did not make us feel welcome when we had some concerns with their drinking policies (which they dont accept vertical licenses, whatsoever) and when she did not have an adequate answer for us she simply chose to insult us and walk away. I would not recommend it, there are plenty of other places in and around La Plata to enjoy.

We came here before heading to Port Tobacco Theatre. Disgusting. My date ordered a buffalo chicken pizza - it wasnt cooked all the way through and they put chopped lettuce on top of the pizza. I had ordered their special fillet mignon. It was so salty it was essentially inedible. It took over 45 minutes for the food to even arrive. Even the bread in the bread basket wasnt fully cooked and you could see the stretchy raw dough on the inside. This place was an utter waste of $50.

This was a special dinner before Port Tobacco Players theater...we each had the daily cut filet medium, mushroom risotto and fresh steamed broccoli. We started with the Tuscan shrimp over smoked mozzarella in a rich tomato sauce! Excellent. The steak was a perfect medium, the risotto creamy and broccoli stramed crunchy like we like it! Excellent meal!

Over the years this place has gone up and down and down... I dont think they can keep a good kitchen crew or good servers. There are a few that have stayed but it is so inconsistent. Food is good but the service could use some "What else can I interest you in?" instead of "OK here is the check"

This place has gone down on quality in the last several years. I used to go out of my way on a regular route when coming through Tennessee just to go here but not any more. Prices have gone through the roof. One piece of crackling cornbread is over $3.

One of the finest laid back casual pubs in la Plata I have been to!! A little high end on drink prices but is matched by service!! Will definitely swing by on my way back down!! Ami thanks for the great conversation and service!!

Went there for some drinks at about 10 pm and it was pretty busy, bartender says most people clear out at about 1130 and move on to some of the outdoor bars. Sangria was quite good!

Decent quality and good service. A bit pricey for the menu offered. Always busy bar. Baked Alaska is unusual anywhere and this place does it right!

Casey Jones always has a great specials menu. Delicious fresh fish dishes. Great wine list - the wine flight is a good value.

Lousy service. Overpriced food. Not particularly friendly or customer-oriented. Was good at one time, many years ago.

Pizza Thursdays are a great deal. Probably one of the best higher end establishments you can find in La Plata.
