i have been going there for years! the california double rolls for $5 is full of meat and you really get your moneys worth. the owner and staff is so friendly and acknowledges everyone as well as his regulars. shrimp tempura is great! awesome prices and variety. i will continue to go here! highly recommend! ive taken a lot of friends here and they love it too!

Small little place have been a fixture in the area for many years. I like the food it satisfies my sushi fix when I have it. Like every restaurant they have up and down days. In the end I have never not been happy with my food. I think the price is right for the amount of food you get. Give it a try, and there California California is big hit.

Most disgusting and fowl-tasting sushi Ive ever eaten--shrimp tempura roll was NOT fresh by any means, salmon roll smelled especially fishy, and "spicy tuna" was inedible and spiced with chili paste...CHOOSE A DIFFERENT PLACE FOR SUSHI OR DRIVE A LITTLE FARTHER OUT OF YOUR WAY TO AVOID THIS JOINT!

this place beats all others. sure mr. Hiro may be cranky but they know there dishes and are quick and prompt. delicious food for bargain prices cant be beat, other business near rockville and D.C. cant come close to the quality and freshness that Hiro has. Best sushi place hands down!

Great pricing for their rolls and it tasted very clean -- the rolls were not simply rice with a little bit of filling, but quality rolls. Call ahead if you are doing take out and generally the wait time is 10 minutes. Will be coming back.

My new favorite spot!!! Small cozy place. The staff was friendly & my Tuna Roll tasted so fresh!! The prices are amazing!! I expected for it to be way more expensive for a roll containing fresh fish! Free green tea. I will deff be back!!!

Sometimes hole in the walls are really good but this place should be avoided at all costs. E.g. Several things on the menu not available, staff was rude and laughed at us for having dietary restrictions.

Sushi is one of my favorite foods. I have eaten it internationally and around the US, so trust me when I tell you that this place does not deserve to call itself a server of sushi. God awful.
