I have been to Bulls and Bears twice now. On high praise from a friend. Each time the food and the waitresses have been very good. Although on the second visit one of the male wait staff kept dropping dishes and breaking them! The main problem I have is that both times i have wanted a table in there outside section. The first time we could not because people came in off the street and seated themselves and there were no more tables. OK... so the second time i made a reservation and requested outside seating. When we got there we were told we could not sit outside because and it had rained and was wet. I think she could have said ok... let us dry of the table and chairs and we will seat you right away. Instead she followed up her "no its wet" with "If you go out there and it starts raining you cant come back inside"! I thought this was very rude. So we reluctantly took a seat inside. There were many many empty tables inside. While we were eating they started seating people outside witch made me even more angry. I probably will not go back because of two bad experiences in a row.

1st - After being in the restaurant for a while we noticed that everyone else there had bread, and we never received any. 2nd - We ordered two entrée salads. I could make better salads at home. IN FACT, the McDonalds Southwest Salad was WAY better than the Southwest Salad I purchased here. 3rd - It took LITERALLY 40 minutes to get our salads after we ordered, and we didnt see the waiter again for about 30 minutes. 4th - When we FINALLY saw the waiter again, we asked for the check to get the heck out of there. 20 minutes later, another waiter came by to take our dishes, and said he would get our check. 20 additional minutes later we FINALLY got our check. Lastly - We paid $30 for two horrible salads and over 2.5 hours of our lives that we will never get back. ALSO - there were MANY other tables that I noticed were annoyed with the quality of food and service.

Bartenders are extremely slow at waiting on customers seated at the bar--you have to almost yell at them to get any service. Food is very slow in coming to the table after ordering. Most of the food I have eaten there has been good - last time there the portions were extremely small - almost like an appetizer and not an entree. Not much value for the money. Atmosphere is okay; I especially like the outdoor patio area in front. My biggest complaint is that B&B as a sponosor of Feet on the Street (the current Friday nite happy hour location) will not allow microphone or sound system in public corridor (Potomac Walk) to be able to hear and enjoy the music. Okay place to drink and people watch in good weather on the patio - not a great draw otherwise.

Went twice for lunch while in Hagerstown for a week long conference. The food was really good, but inconsistent. I had the Pesto Mussels appetizer for lunch as an entree both times. Plenty, as it was a pound of mussels and a good chunk of crusty french baguette. It was delicious both times, but didnt even look or taste like the same recipe. Id still order it again though! The day we went, they only had one server and one cook, and the bartender was having to serve, so they were a bit frazzled. But they tried hard. Id definitely recommend. Everything else my colleagues ordered looked delicious as well, and they all said it was. Their potato chips are homemade (I think) and theyre super good too.

We had our son’s college graduation party there. Even though there was a mix-up on the reservation for the party they went over and above to make sure we were happy. The food was super and all our guests commented on how great the buffet was. The staff and management was friendly, professional, and tended to our every request. We also eat there often and the food and service is always great. If you want a nice meal, a snack, a few beverages or hosting a party this is the place to go. We have always been treated great and the food is always good.

Had a company Xmas party here. Food is terribly over priced and the service is horrid. Waitress would disappear for 20 minutes at a time, and then forget what it was we asked for in the first place. If we asked for anything, it would take 2 or three times asking before they finally brought it. Sat for over an hour waiting on our check with our dishes in front of us because the waitress couldnt figure anything out. If you care enough to have a Xmas get together, then you care enough to go somewhere better than this.

Bison burger, pepper jack cheese, avocado, with applewood bacon. The fries had sea salt. I didnt see the use in ketchup at all. The Yuengling came in a chilled glass and the mixologist was friendly and professional with the service. I also over the chef telling another staff member how he is furthering his career in the food industry because he loves cooking. These things say alot considering we all have to eat. The atmosphere shows history as well. I will be back. Really enjoyed it.

Graduating class had reservations and waited so long, 1 person never did get to eat. It took almost an hour for my son to get his food. They commented that the party should have come earlier. How early do you get to a place when reservations were made 2 months in advance? I emailed Bulls & Bears 2 times and no one cared. Two - Three times a year our family gets together with a group of 20+ people, I can assure you this is no where I will make reservations.

My boyfriend and I ate dinner there last night and now both of us are terribly sick from food poisoning. The waitress came out at one point and took his coleslaw away saying that someone had complained so they were making fresh and she would bring it right out. We have eaten there before and it has never been the best, but after this I will never eat there again.

It was okay. The root beer was great, service was slow. We were seated outside and then left on our own for 15/20 minutes. Our poor server was sweet as could be, but overrun with the amount of tables she had, which were both inside and out. The hosting staff wasnt very warm or welcoming either. The food was okay, but severally over-priced.

I had a bad experience here a couple of years ago, but Ive been back several times recently, and my recent experiences have been a lot better. Perhaps I caught the employees on a bad day the first time I went. In any event, the food Ive had recently was excellent, and the beer lineup, while not expansive, was adequate.

Food ok and a lot of it seemed like reheated meals and not very fresh. Service was ok also. Waitress charged our card for another table (of at least 6) instead of our check and wasnt very quick. Spent $95 for 2 entrees, 1 app, and 2 drinks --- def not a $100 meal. There is a great place next door though.
