I really like the products here. I work in the shopping center, and get lunch and a smoothie (or 2 or 3) almost every single day. (Im considering stopping that habit.) I spend between $50 and $100 a week at this location. However, I have noticed more than one time their customer service has not been up to par. A Co worker and I both received a coupon for a smoothie. She asked me to pick up her smoothie (also a regular customer) and they would not honor the discount. Also, their smoothies are loaded with sugar. You can request them without sugar, or with splenda subsitute. However, I watched as a customer with diabetes was told they could not remake her smoothie without charging her, because she didnt realize it had sugar in it... This was an elderly woman...

I went to the Gambrills location for the first time on 7/30/17. There was no one in line in front of me. No greeting when I came in. I waited about 3-5 minutes before a young man just came to the register and stared in my face. No...welcome to Tropical Cafe or How can I help you or Are you ready to order?? Nothing. I mentioned that to the guy and he still didnt acknowledge. I started to walk out. But once I had placed my order, the young man gave me my change and no "thank you!" What kind of customer service training if any takes place at this store? Every customer should be greeted. There are other places we can take our business....like Bowie! Im not sure I would be coming back to the Gambrills location....first impressions are lasting impressions.

I recently took my banana, oat smoothie to get it reblended because i tasted oats and banana pieces. The manager came over to me and said that i didnt taste that, i told her i drink this smoothie all the time. She gave me the nasty look, took my drink and told one of the workers to reblend it. After he poured it back into the blender and looked inside the blender, the manager a B/f looked into the blender also. Well after that i didnt want it. Then she walked over to me and said she didnt see any bananas of oats pieces in the drink. WOW! To avoid a pissing contest I just said to her " i always get this drink", talk about if looks could kill. I know what i tasted. What ever happened to customer service! OH, i forgot, the customer is never right.

The owner is extremely rigid. My bill was 7.27. I gave the cashier a 20 dollar billl, and 30 cents in coins. The cashier had already rang up the change which was 12.73 and could not figure out I he needed to give me 13 dollars and 3 cents. As I proceed to help him out the lady owner comes up and says he cant do that. Give her back her 30 cents and give her the change the register told you to give her. She continues to explain he cant do that because when I audit the register I need to know what the register told him to give you. I have a puzzled look, well you wont be short its going to be the same thing I just wont have all these coins. She says well he cant do that I told him not to. How interesting. .... cant think outside the box.

Ill start of by saying I love the products at tropical smoothie cafe and i typically go to either the one in Columbia or this one near my home in Waugh chapel. That being said, this particular location has the slowest, least efficient service I have ever seen. I had hoped it was just one or two bad occasions where they have been swamped but its a recurring problem. There should be no reason why Im waiting 15-20 minutes for a smoothie here while the one at Columbia has me in and out in 5 minutes. They need to invest in more blenders or a more efficient way of handling orders because I find myself driving out of the way to Columbia more because it takes less time overall.

First time coming here. Good food to be honest. I got a caprese chicken pesto with mango magic smoothie. The stories was delicious. Especially that I had a coupon totaling $6.36. My sister in the other hand had a $5.99 coupon for a smoothie and half a sandwich or a salad. When she ordered, they didnt honor the coupon and only deducted a dollar. Then they processed to say they cant give her a sandwich. Like what kind of store has a promotion that entices customer to come try their store and doesnt have whats on the menu and has a false advertising.

Healthy eatting, different smoothies, breakfast wraps or lunch menu items. Can get very busy, but get waited on pretty quickly.I love the morning specials they have.A smoothie on average can cost about $5.00.But on the mornings if you get in before 9 a.m. its half price. But you have to check every so many months. The morning specials change They like to call it Happy Hour. Its family owned employs late teens to college age students. Its run pretty smoothly, smoothies can be very addicting.Youll want to go just about everyday!

I love this place, everyone is always nice, everything is clean and efficient and the food and smoothies are always top notch. I saw the negative reviews here and I have to say they are messed up and clearly the people who wrote them thought they are the center of the universe. This place is awesome my boyfriend and I recommend it to allot of our friends and family. This is one of those places we would always choose to go to first whenever we travel or eat out.

Horrible. They close an hour early within the winter times. They dont have this anywhere posted to forewarn customers. After making a 35 minute drive to get there, only to find out they are closed. The employee who spoke with us was very condescending & rude, they acted as though we were supposed to know this information. I will never be going there ever again. Tropical Smoothie is a horrible company/franchise. Dont go there.

Bad service and horrible attitudes. The women owner has a nasty attitude and it reflects on her staff. They look tired, like they dont want to be there, and act like they dont want to even be bothered with you or your order. Thats definitely not the type of place Im going to patronize again Especially when Im spending over 6.00 a DAY On a drink. Its very hard to support black owned businesses because of their attitudes!

Tropical smoothie in waugh Chapel used to be good, it was a weekly thing for my family of 5.. They honorered their military and their spouses and made good smoothies. Now every time we go the story changes about how they support the military. Today they would only do it if in uniform..which is a joke because everyone should know the military isnt supposed to go out in uniform

This place is awesome. They once catered a work event I was part of and took the time to write everyones name on the boxes. This was my first experience with them. I have also been back to eat solo, and have ordered wraps, sandwiches, and smoothies. I also believe this location tastes better than the Columbia Dobbin Rd location. Management and staff are friendly as well.

First time eating or even hearing of this place was Saturday at i5 church at Meade Middle School...the food was amazing and taste delicious! 1st time for everything going and it was a great choice...I guess I will have to drive 21 mins every other day to go to the one in Gambrills because this is the closest one to Fort Meade.
