This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever encountered. The table clothes were plastic and dirty. The candle holder was greasy. The food was Horrible. The cream of crab, bland at $5.25 a cup. The salad consisted of frozen lettuce mix from a bag and sour blue cheese dressing. The pot pie over southern style biscuits looked like vomit on a plate with hard tack hockey puck biscuits . Even when they brought replacement biscuits they were hard and non eddible. The concoction had a large bone and a Bay leaf that was not removed from it before serving. Then it has several deep fried burned chicken nuggetts in the bowl. The shrimp salad sandwich was supposed to have nothing but shrimp salad on it, yet it was served with more shredded frozen lettuce and a tomato but worst of all it was served on two slices of stale texas toast and the one slice was the heel of the loaf! They never even cut it in half. There was very little shrimp on the sandwich at all. The manager was rude and flip. very unproffessional. She said she would remove the 2 bad dishes from the bill, and then attempted to charge and extra $5.00 for the remaining dish. Once that was corrected , I noticed she charged me for two sodas instead of two waters. This was by far the worst ever. Food sucks, service sucks. No wonder there were only five people in the restaurant. The only thing nice about this place was the view. Just horrible! This place deserves NO stars!

Stumbled upon The Island View and couldnt have been happier! We were lucky enough to have walked in on Crab night! They were beautiful crabs, caught straight from the Chesapeake Bay that morning. The deal is $1 or $2 crabs or large by the dozen. Delicious! We also ordered from Island Views menu. We tried the Crab Cake and were not disappointed. These crab cakes were featured on MPT and we know why. Yummy! We also tried a cup of each crab soup, Maryland Crab and Cream of Crab. And the Crab Pretzel is like nothing Ive ever tried before, no cream cheese, just crab and seasoning. Beers were cold, servers were fantastic. We even met the owners! What a nice family! They gave us the history of the building and their story and it just added to the charm. We will be back!! ps. this is not a corporate restaurant. They are a family business in operation for 42 years! wow! Sit back and relax there! Enjoy the view and appreciate a restaurant that really does want to make you happy and have you come back again and again!

Amazing view of the water from the deck, plus awesome food selection make this a go to spot for me. Try the crab dip pretzel and the jerk tuna bites for sure. Last time I went they also had a new drink of pomegranate iced tea and vodka which was out of this world. Shrimp tacos were also good, but not as spectacular as the first two dishes I mentioned. Deck has about 8 outside tables with some shading depending on where you sit and time of day. They also strung some fabric overhead to create shading which would probably help. Servers are usually friendly and playful, not pushy at all. Overall a favorite summer spot for me and gf when we are in the area.

My wife took me to the Island View Waterfront Cafe for Fathers Day 2017. The place was quite busy, and they were turning away people who didnt have reservations. Fortunately, we did have a reservation. Our service was excellent, and the Angus burger was the best burger I have ever tasted, and Im a 72 year old American so I have eaten lots of burgers over the years. This is a casual restaurant / bar way out on the end of a peninsula east of Baltimore. For burger aficionados, its well worth the trip. They also have good seafood. I had the shrimp appetizer. The cocktail sauce needed a bit stronger horseradish.

Longstanding family owned business with warm staff and management- had a nice 15 minute conversation with the owner in the parking lot last night, and my waitress from Sunday actually recognized me on Tuesday ! They are kind enough to let we kayakers use their dock for ingress/egress on a regular basis. The view is incredible - serene and beautiful and well worth the trip . There arent many restaurant views like THIS in Baltimore County. Have had their seafood and bar food many times and have never been disappointed. A memorable place that i will return to many times in the future.

Average food and great kayak rentals. Great scenery quaint restaurant. My father in-law was disappointed in the experience he had. My father in-law was asked by the owner Bryan was his meal my father told him of the long wait (hour for food) disappointing service. Bryan (the owner) told my father in-law "Weve been open for 47 years and if you dont like it youre welcome to go someplace else." This is not how the hospitality industry works. For full disclosure I am a former employee of this establishment and had a 4 star review after I left and until this came to light.

Amazing oyster po-boy sandwich! My favorite secret spot on the water. My husband and I eat here often. Staff is amazing. I spilled something on my shirt there and they gave me a free island view tee shirt. Super nice! Never had a bad experience at this place, not sure about that one review below. I can say, I do not know the owner or anyone that works there. I am just a random person that discovered this place while driving around one day, and we have been back time and time again. Great deck and amazing view. Love it!

Worst food ever after a long wait on a slow Wednesday afternoon. Crab cakes tasted like fish that was cooked in same oil as the fried oysters. Fries came out slightly warm and the cole slaw was a waste of time. Salmon dish was tasteless. Server showed no interested in our dissapointment. Not even a thank you after spending $85 for the worst meal ever. Was really hopeful when we arrived. Loved the place and view, but thats all they have to offer.

Visited this location for a private function so it was closed off to the community. There were maybe 5 people ordering drinks, and the bartender couldnt remember which tab I was under... that was annoying. The food was fantastic - especially the lasagna. The view was killer! They rent kayaks and paddle boards, although that is pretty pricey comparatively.
