This has to be one of my favorite chicken places. I have been coming to place as long as I can remember. I used to come here with my grandmother who loved this place. I have family that will come from Laytonsville and Gaithersburg just for their food. The place is really tiny and there isnt much room inside when it gets busy but they have great shakes and the staff is alway really friendly and fast. Im typically in and out pretty fast, even when I dont call ahead. The fried chicken is alway fresh and juicy. We loves getting the fries, they are far better than any fast food place. All the food is better than the fast foods places. I would get this chicken any day over KFC. My Dad swears by their burgers but I love the chicken. Some people arent a fan of why they are fried without the heavy batter like some other places but I love it, you get a better taste of the chicken rather than a thick batter.

Red Rooster is a cute place with large picnic tables under awnings for shade and protection from the elements. So its outdoor seating only but it was amazing cool even on a sunny 98° August afternoon. They have breakfast sandwiches, burgers, BLT sandwiches, fried chicken, buffalo wings and very tempting desserts. Although busy service was fast and friendly. We tried a bacon cheeseburger and the Smoke House Steak Sandwich. Both were tasty and satisfying. Next visit well try their buffalo wings and fried chicken.

Honestly, if you are a local you should notice the difference between how the food used to taste and how much better the food was under the past owner Kevin and the new people that bought this place. Yes they own the place now and kept the most of the old menu, but changed lots in the preparation and taste. unless the new management stop cutting corners and start implementing the same level of service, the red rooster will be one of the many good ol places that would fade away eventually as the food has.

This Damascus hole-in-the-wall is minuscule, with only three parking spaces out front, and room inside for half-a-dozen people to stand in front of the counter (and a tight squeeze for that many). A mixed 20-piece on this first visit was a guilty pleasure. The thin, crisp breaded-skin and moist meat are a solid step above fast-food fried-chicken. That said, this isnt free-range natural-feed fair-trade buttermilk-brined chicken. But its still quite tasty, and much cheaper than those variations would allow.

Best Damn Breakfast sandwiches you will ever have. That might be an understatement. They fry each egg made to order and you got get your choice of bread including bagels and also your choice of meat including thick bacon, patty sausage, and whole link sausage the size of an Italian sausage. Sandwiches are cheaper than a McDonalds breakfast sandwich and its larger. I dont know why you would get breakfast at any other place

What a Total Disappointment they overcharge me for the 3 piece platter by $1.10 what a rip off they tried to convince me that it was right by saying they up charged me 49 cent for a 1/2 ORDER OF WEDGES WOW A 1/2 order. Also the chicken was lukewarm at best, it tasted like was reheated. It looks like they are using smaller chickens.

Their fried chicken is really good, not too salty but a really nice crunch. I used to be a big fan of salty crunch because I had been raised on KFC. Now I have learned the fine points of proper breading and frying. They do a really good job here. Service can be slow sometimes, but that never bothers me here.

"Famous" Fried Chicken indicates popularity due to outstanding quality. It didnt live up to the self-proclaimed hype for me. Skin texture was great, but the flavor lacked and was served cold. Fries were average and lacked seasoning. Coleslaw was minced which was unique, but tasted watery.

Ive had the opportunity to both dine in and take out and have to say the food is is always hot the chicken is juicy and not dry like some chicken place i been to in the past and the staff is friendly and always ready to help. Great job!!

The chicken isnt bad, but it isnt great either. As for the bbq, were not talking smoked pork shoulder, but generic shredded pork cooked in sauce. Havent had breakfast, but scrapple is on the menu if that tells you anything.

Went for subs. Cant speak on chicken. Subs were meh. And small. The sitting outside is next to the dumpster so smells fresh and classy port a potty next to the entrance. Might come back to try chicken.

Chicken is a bit pricey at $1.72 per piece but it is delicious when eaten hot. The chicken kind of gets dried out after it gets cold. Nonetheless its pretty good chicken!
