Mint just opened up and its got really decent reviews on Yelp and a couple solid ones on Google; however, I feel as though Mint really is not worth the hype. In short, the food simply isnt up to the par and the service leaves a lot to be desired-- especially when compared to other restaurants in the area (primarily Royal Taj and Ananda). Its definitely not "the best Indian food ever" like other reviewers mention-- and thats what should make you wary of those reviews. I came across Mint on a Saturday afternoon right when it was supposed to be open-- but the doors were still locked. I finally called and the restaurant unlocked the door and I was ready for the weekend buffet. However, the buffet was still being prepared as I walked in, with next to nothing ready to eat. This was definitely a bummer but I waited anyway. Once the buffet was finally stocked, I sampled everything from the raita to the tandoori chicken to the channa masala. Frankly, nothing stood out and I didnt find myself to enjoy any particular dish. The naan were fine but youve got to request it to your table. The service is what really threw me off. My father and I were the first ones at the restaurant by 15 minutes-- yet the waiters continued to service every other table instead of ours. Finally, after 10 minutes of waiting for some sort of naan or rice to have my buffet entrees with, I gave up and asked someone for some naan-- and then it finally came. This shouldnt be the case when youre paying $15/person for a buffet. The overall lack of polish of the waiting staff was extremely noticeable too-- common courtesies simply arent performed here like they are at Royal Taj, Ananda, or other comparable restaurants. The restaurant has a pretty nice atmosphere-- theres tons of decorations on the walls and the silverware is just fine. Parking isnt an issue either, which is great. Still, the subpar food, unpolished service, and relatively lackluster experience are enough to keep me from going back to Mint.

Ive been to this place twice now. Once for lunch and once for dinner. The lunch buffet on a Saturday was absolutely amazing! The saag paneer and dosa was out of this world. Staff was extremely friendly, polite, but not overbearing. I came another time on a Saturday night for dinner with 10 of my closest friends, and I can honestly say that this was the best and most fun experience Ive ever had an Indian restaurant. The belly dancer made the atmosphere more fun and lively. Done very tastefully. Dinner was amazing and service was excellent. I live in Bethesda where Indian food is in abundance. This is by far the best Indian Ive had in the state of Maryland!

Excellent food & lovely atmosphere! Our new favorite restaurant. The first week they opened we ate there 4 times. I told the staff my husband wants to move in there !! Beautiful presentation prepared by a top flight chef at standard Indian food pricing. High value to cost. The prettiest & most interesting interior of any restaurant within a 20 mi radius in my opinion. Friendly wait staff very kind & accommodating. The chef owner came out to greet us several times that week. They topped off my husbands birthday dinner with a gorgeously creative presentation of cheese cake slices to share with our friends served with a candle. Chef Neel is an artist !!!

I work in Potomac and love Indian food. One of my coworkers told me about this hidden gem that just opened in Clarksville, md that I had never heard of. He told me it was well worth the 40 minute drive to check it out, so thats exactly what some co workers and I did, and let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! Gorgeous atmosphere, friendly and attentive service and some of the best Indian food Ive ever had! I met both the chef and young owner, both of whom were very accommodating and welcoming. Needless to say Ill be making this 40- minute trek again!!

We had awesome experience on Friday night dinner time. Outstanding services, delicious food and exceptional ambiance. Staff members are very friendly and they will treat you like royals. Especially Vishnu was very nice. I was craving for tandoori paneer&vegetables which I could not find in any Indian restaurant around in Columbia/Ellicott City Area. Found it here...very delicious. We also loved their Kashmir Korma. Korma was Awesome. Kids loved their Indo Chinese food. Finished it off with cheese cake. My new favorite restaurant. I highly recommend it.

We were expecting another cafe-type restaurant with largely carry-out business. What I found, once you walk in the door, was a plush, beautiful and glittery fine dining restaurant in the middle of Clarksville. I had Chicken Tikka and a grilled vegetable platter. The food was quite good, and the sauces/curries were wonderful. They apparently have a buffet at lunchtime, so I might try that out.

We went to the buffet on a Saturday and found the food exceptional. There was more variety than most Indian buffets, the bread was fresh and hot, and the chicken vindaloo very spicy and delicious. Especially liked the different dahls offered. Soooooo happy Mint is in the western part of the county instead of Ellicott City or Columbia. There is a desperate need for great food out here.

Wonderful restaurant! If the cuisine isnt the best around, the service is! We called a few days ahead to arrange for a graduation dinner and we were treated like royalty. It seemed as if every member of our party had their own server. The head chef as well as the owner greeted us and made sure our meal was exceptional. My family is still talking about the Gobi!

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Delightful ambience and outstanding service. I was particularly pleased with the staffs willingness to explain how to enjoy some of the unusual dishes. My friend and I contemplated the consequences of kidnaping the chef responsible for the coconut cream and walnut soup. Wonderful experience.

I have been there twice and had a great experience both times. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for our dining experience and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the lamb biryani on my latest trip. I will definitely be dining there again.

Ambience is great, food is consistently good to very good. Their naans, pakodas are awesome. Other items are not consistent. Service lacks consistency. It is great sometimes and couple of times was okay. For the price they should improve their quality and service.

Excellent food and service! They have a lunch buffet all week long! Its kind of a secret item, but you can order chai (tea) as part of the buffet, and its really good! Its cheap enough that I go there for lunch a few times a week and never get tired of it.

Great service, refreshing house-invented mint curry, and best Malai Kofta Korma Ive ever had for a reasonable price in an impressive atmosphere. Finished it off with a pistachio kulfi (Indian ice cream) while pondering the next time I can come eat here.

Im living in America for two years and this is the first restaurant I really liked. A delightful place, chic dishes, good service. The food is wonderful. My husband is a connoisseur of Indian cuisine and he was also delighted.
