Play it Again Sam was recommended to my party after we discovered that another restaurant had an hour wait, and I cant say I was disappointed. The place was packed, but our food still arrived quickly. I had "the bad a--" sandwich, which was delicious, although I generally dislike avocado. They happened to be out of Brie to go on the sandwich someone in my group ordered, so they offered a complimentary gluten-free dessert that was quite good. It was a little loud--not great for quite conversation, but Im sure that definitely had to do with the time of our visit. There was seating outdoors, but most of the chairs seemed to be missing, so availability was limited.

I ordered a bacon, lettuce, avocado sandwich and asked them to "hold" the tomato. The sandwich arrived with several juicy tomato slices. I told the waitress and she took it back to the cook. The cook took the tomato slices off and the sandwich was returned to me. The bread was soggy from the juicy tomato and there were tomato seeds all over the sandwich. Obviously you can tell I really dislike fresh tomatoes, but what if it was a bona fide life threatening allergy? The cook didnt care at all. Sorry, I wont ever go back there.

Cozy little cafe. I met my soon to be fiance here. We used to LOVE their coffee so much we would buy it by the pound in store so we could have it at home on mornings we didnt want to leave the house, but since switching to the Maryland Rise Up brand weve fallen out of getting our coffees here as often. I appreciate that Rise Up is locally sourced, but it is just NOT as smooth as the coffee they used to have. Disappointing :-(

Coffee and sandwiches are decent, but the baked goods often taste stale. I usually have trouble choosing between a seat out front on the sidewalk for people watching, or a seat in the lovely shaded courtyard out back for quiet reflection. They also have retail wine sales and a small bottled beer selection.

Cute and cozy! As a student I always came to Sams to study with a coffee, or get lunch with a friend. The sandwiches are awesome (the badass is the best one). Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chestertown, its a good place to meet locals and have relaxed conversation.

Love this place! Friendly staff and great food. Plus there are options for those of us with dietary restrictions (e.g. vegitarian, lactose intolerance, gluten sensitivity, etc.) I love to come here to study or just grab some coffee after exploring the town.

Fantastic iced tea and lemonade; I bought one of each and the staff gave me an extra cup to mix them since the mix isnt a menu item. One of the staffers helped me get my drinks and very tasty baked goods to my car. Grrat service, excellent food and drink!

This is my favorite place in all of chestertown. Coffee is smooth. Food is unique. I think they should do more food. The chais are the most amazing ive ever had. The atmosphere is great. Wifi! Outback there is awesome art. If i died there id die happy

Always packed with locals and visitors, this is the best breakfast sandwich in town but it is a toss up on the coffee. Usually good- sometimes not so much. Coffee drinks from the barista are too expensive for my taste.
