What happened to mamma Roma? Where did the old owner go? This place was the best, food was great, and the owner and staff were awesome. You would come in with a great welcome and how have you been. Not any more. They used to have less staff and still have great service. I went there last night to find a lot changed completely. There was so many employees all over but no real service. Our food took forever which left us in a hurry sense we were on a time crunch. When asked for boxes and the check that also took forever and to top it all off which really upset me quite a bit was paying. I told the server we had some cash and that the rest was to go on my card, he said ok but never came back. I watched as he brought out orders of pizza and other dishes but still no receipt and card brought back to me. Finally we got up and went to the front to find out that "HE FORGOT". Um no how do you forget when someone gives you there bank card to pay? You dont! And you especially dont walk around with it. You take care of that persons bill before anything else. This is just sad the old owner was friendly and caring always asking how youve been and remembering you every time. Not anymore, I dont know if Ill be going back now with the bad change. Such a shame.

Waiters wanted! That is what the sign should say outside...with a party of 51, which was reserved 2 weeks earlier, the service was really, really bad. The manager continued giving excuses that their staff didnt come in and they were short staff. Not our problem..the part that confused me was, they continued to seat more people in the restaurant while we waited for our food. Needless to say, the last person in our party was served 3 hours later...the one waitress and her helper did everything they could to serve us.....Definitely, not good management practice.....cant talk about the dessert, it was too late to order...we even had 2 people leave.....ugh!! All I am saying is, eat before you come....dont know how long you may have to wait.

The waiter had no idea what draft beer was and had to ask someone. The waiter forgot what we ordered right after he took our order. Wife and I ordered cheddar bacon fries, side salad, chicken Marsala, tortellini, and two soft drinks (no draft beer). The food took forever and when it came had zero flavor. The chicken Marsala was grey, cheddar cheese fries had a small sprinkle of cheese and bacon (like barely noticeable small) and the tortellini was super hot and flavorless (must take a long time to microwave it). Finally, the "garlic bread" was so soggy it was uneatable, and the silverware was filthy. We took one bite of each dish and decided to go somewhere else. We were refunded for the meal which was the only plus side.

This place is SO good! I live in Alexandria, VA and I drive 1/2 hour to get here, because its heads and shoulders above anything I can get in Old Town. In fact, in all honesty most of the Restaurants in Old Town are overpriced and not that great. But getting back to point, Mamma Romas Chicken Parm, and Lemon Shrimp are phenomenal. I havent tried other dishes yet, but the Lemon Shrimp is so ridiculously good, its the best meal Ive had in weeks. The garlic bread is phenomenal, the garlic knots are phenomenal, everything is PHENOMENAL. The chief is authentic, hes really Italian. This place is a gem! The few negative reviews I see on here are asking WAY too much of any restaurant.

Our family went out to celebrate my granddaughters birthday. We called ahead to have pizzas ready when we arrived, so we didnt have to wait with several young kids in tow. The pizzas were ready, staff was waiting for us, and we were able to dig in right away. WOW! That is great pizza! We got four different types, large size, and ate almost all of them. The crusts were all medium thickness with a nice crispy bottom. All of the flavors were delicious. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. We brought a sheet cake to celebrate the birthday, and the waiters gave us extra plates and utensils. Well definitely be going back to Mamma Roma!

Mamma Romas makes real pizza and its great. Clearly, they make their own dough and know what theyre doing. This is the the best Ive had in a very long time. The crust is chewy on top and crisp on the bottom - real New York style. The staff was friendly. While I waited, the host told me by pizza was taking a little longer than expected and so he gave me a salad while I waited. They also have bottles of beer including an interesting Italian "dopplebock" (double bock) beer that was a good combo for the pizza. The other people in the restaurant were remarking on how good the food was and complementing the host.

Since new management has taken over it is not the same. Customer service and food quality has really gone down. The last few times Ive gine there for a pizza (even tough I have ordered the same thing each time), the pizza come out different each time and are very skimpy on the toppings. I so appreciated when previous owner was there because he kept things managed well and food was great! However now things have changed for the worst. Think I may just take a ride out to Odenton location the next time I want a good pizza, because the Brandywine location just isnt doing the job.

Good food, dishes out of the ordinary. Food that does not taste like it came from an assembly line like at the national chain too many people think passes for Italian. We have had several lunch and dinners here and the food is always fresh, well prepared and the service good. You order at the counter, get a sign with a number, find a table, and the staff brings out your food when its piping hot and ready. Pasta dishes are very good, subs are good, they accomodate special resquests (non menu recipe). A desperately needed addition to the area!

We come here a few times a month and we love this place! The pizza is hand tossed and cooked in a brick oven...very much a New York/New Jersey style of pizza. The meals are all generous portions and delicious...no one in my family has found something they didnt like. The bread is made fresh onsite and the garlic bread is awesome...my kids usually eat it all before my wife and I get any. The staff is friendly and courteous...my favorite place to eat in Southern Maryland.

This place is the best. My family relocated here from the Northeast and feel at home at this restaurant. We havent found pizza like back home in this area with the exception of Mama Roma. The pizza is the best around and all the pasta dinners we have had (and we have had a lot) have been top notch. The food comes out timely and hot. The wait staff is great and the owner makes us feel like we are back home as well. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Used to be my favorite place to eat. Pizza was always cooked the way I requested. When Id order take-out, they knew immediately what I wanted. The last few months have been terrible! First, they just say "hello?" When answering the phone. I have to ask if it is Momma Roma. Although I always request a well done pizza so the bottom is crusty, it is always doughy. Wont go back for anything but a steak sub.
