I had a horrible experience with someone that was serving ice cream. I am going to describe him physically in hopes that his manager reads this and identifies him. He is a young man in his late teens or twenties. He is tall (at least 6 feet), dark skinned and with dark, coarse/curly hair. The name on the receipt is Ahmed M. He was conversing with two or three girls st the register when I walked in. Instead of greeting me and acknowledging my presence, he continued his conversation with the girls. After standing there a while, I was able to make eye contact and give the indication that I was ready to be served. I ordered a regular cup of ice cream for $6.50. I gave him a $20 bill. He gave me $6.22 change. I said, "I gave you a twenty. Thats an expensive cup of ice cream." He immediately realized he double charged me and gave me the correct change. I found it odd that he quoted me the correct cost of the ice cream but shorted me on the change. I sat at the outside table and ate my ice cream for about 5 minutes. This table was closest to the entrance and in the direct lime of sight of the cashier. When so hot to the car, I noticed I did not have my brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. I immediately rushed back to the Hagen Daz and asked the same guy if I had left the phone at the counter. He looked me square in the eye and said, "I saw a guy walk off with it." A look of fear and desperation must have been on my face as I said, "Are you serious? Jesus Christ!" He felt guilty, went into the drawer and handed me my phone. I guess I should be grateful to have my phone but the Bethesda Row Hagen Daz has a problem. At best one of their employees is dishonest. At worst, he is a thief. I will never return to that store if I see Ahmed M behind the counter. I wonder how many people have been shorted of their change or lost their phones while this guy was working.

Incompetently managed!!! On Columbus Day 2015 at 4:30 pm they had only one (1) employee tending the store. We gave up after waiting more than 20 minutes in line. Never again!!! PS: Just found out that H-D is a Nestle product. So I am glad I did not spend money there after all! :-)

This location of Haagen Dazs is tucked away by the Bethesda Theater so its hard to find. I worked in Bethesda for more than a year before I knew it existed. Nonetheless, if you need a sweet snack, its a good option especially on "Free Haagen Dazs" day!
