So when we came in there were no other guests. The lady was inattentive from the start. She got our order and it took much too long for 4 rolls. Only 3 showed up after waiting for so long. We had to ask for soy sauce for our table as none around ours had any either. Only two other tables showed up... so they still werent busy. They were very stingy with the Ginger. And some of our rolls came with neither wasabi or ginger. Overall the sushi was only okay. Our fourth roll, the volcano roll was the least apetitizing. The lady never refilled our water until we got our check and walked right past our table to go to the table that had to request to refill their empty glasses among other things like utensils for their food and soy sauce. She was never available when we needed something and would walk away just as quickly as she came. The other customers there were also very apparently dissatisfied with the service. This was my first and will be last visit here. Extremely disappointing. Im going to try Fuji sushi next time.

We have been a loyal customer of Fuji sushi. But we decided to try something new out, so we venture to this joint. Here are what I took away: For the same price, the portions here are smaller. There are slightly less variety of rolls. All of the rolls we ordered (TNT, Yellowtail, Alaska) were loose. Pieces of fish in the rolls were skim (smaller than at Fuji sushi). Alaska rolls were unique, to put it nicely, but it doesnt taste good. It was drizzled with the generic sweet and sour sauce ?!?!? The Unagi sushi sauce were too strong and overwhelmed the taste of eel. While fishes didnt taste old, they didnt taste fresh and were rather bland. Edamame were overcooked. The green tea was very diluted, closer to water than to tea. The setting of the restaurant remind me of a cheap Chinese restaurant rather than a sushi joint. Overall, it were a disappointing experience given the reviews we read. We are not going back there again. We consider that meal a spectacular failure.

I have been getting my sushi and miso soup from this place for the past two years. The sushi is ALWAYS fresh (the chef is a really cool guy; at least the younger guy I talk to) and the miso is superb. However, they got new management about a month or two ago and I must say I can definitely tell a difference in the quality of the food. The sushi is not so good anymore- still fresh but the rice is funky. idk. The miso is okay too. But I feel that they charge really high prices for mediocre food. The menu has completely changed so I was really taken aback while ordering once they switched over. The lady was rude and rushing me to order. It sort of irritated me to be treated like this when I have been a regular customer for over 2 years. but like I said- new management. So I guess its not their fault. I am not pleased with the new takeover and I wish things were back to the way they used to. The same sushi chef guy is there.

Ugh, avoid this place like the plague! I went here maybe a year and a half ago, and I had a really good experience. That was the first and last time! Ive been 3 times in the last 2 months (we love sushi) and have been very disappointed each time. The California rolls fall apart and dont look very appetizing. Very meager portions, almost like a joke. The lady who seems to run the establishment is very mean and delivers horrible service. We got the lunch special and I asked could I trade miso soup for a different soup, and she wouldnt budge. I offered to pay the difference and she still refused. I dislike miso soup and she basically said no to more money, which boggles me. I would rather go to McDonalds than Zen 16 ever again. Ive given them enough chances. If you want good sushi, try Fuji Sushi. Their 2 roll lunch special is amazing, and the Bento boxes looked really appetizing as well.

Literally the best sushi Ive ever had. Been eating there for years and unfortunately have not written a review until now. The staff is amazing. Kevin, the main sushi chef, is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work as well as being friendly and approachable. Its a good place for both sushi beginners and oficianados as they have no trouble catering to your individual tastes and comfort level. Not to mention there kitchen food is also quiet good (house fried rice and curry). Contrary to what another user posted, I have noticed no decline in the freshness or quality of the sushi. I love going there and now I find myself having a tough time going anywhere else.

I enjoyed the food here several times when they first opened for business. The quality of fish was excellent in the sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls. And the sushi rice was perfect. It instantly became one of my favorite sushi spots. However, Ive noticed a decline in the freshness of the fish and overall quality of sushi dish construction in the past year or so. Maybe they hired a new itamae or changed managers or something. Im disappointed every time I go back hoping they can reclaim their former glory and end up wishing I would have went to Toki Sushi....That said, the restaurant is clean, the atmosphere is soothing, and the service is endearing.

I like this place before, sushi was good and they did special orders for me. I came today and order 2 types of sushi and miso soup but when i got m order there was no soup and lady owner was arguing with me that i did not order soup . I asked to get it for me but when she sow that im paying with credit card she just told me no miso soup. Very very mean. Her husband went to kitchen and tried to get me soup but she started yelling at him and screaming . Will never go back again to this mean owner!!!!!!!

We went to Zen 16 for dinner one night after I found their menu online. They have great, very fresh sushi and tempura. The ginger salad dressing was different from typical Japanese restaurants but still very good. The decor is nice and looks very clean. The waitress said theyve been open for about a year. Hope they do good business because they are a great find in Harford County! Cant wait to go back!

One bad experience in years of eating here. Some noticeably old cucumbers in my Philly roll. Other than that, food is amazing, service is gr8, place is so comfortable, and owners and son are so kind. Another place that is comparable to here is toki. Try that place. Ive rated it the same.

A lot of sushi for the lunch price, however ive had better. Also the woman who answered the phone could use some training in customer service you shouldnt scream at the person whom is ordering from your restaurant especially if youre hard to understand in the first place.

Its a okay place. The waitress didnt seem to care about us and rush us on picking food. When we were paying, she was standing right behind us and starring at us to make sure we leave the good tip since we came with a "Groupon"

Been eating here for years. This is my familys favorite sushi place (and weve tried places all over). Menu has good variety, quality is excellent, staff is patient (if sometimes a bit brusque). Highly recommended!
