4 out of 6 dinners were fine We got lemon merengue milkshakes which were outstanding. Also a peanut butter / chocolate / banana and a kaptain krunch. All were good but fairly contraindicated with food. Next time I will order it for dessert. We got a veggie sandwich (soggy but decent enough) monte cristo egg, special which was corn cakes and eggs, and the fries / gravy / BBQ thing. Those were all OK and enjoyed by the people who ordered them. I got the chipped beef on toast. So terribly wrong. It had very odd flavors (chili? Rosemary? Something with a back of the throat bite and something fairly floral.) It was thich and gooey, not like a gravy or bechmel sauce at all. The toast was thick and only lightly toasted so the whole thing was like a disaster of soggy starch covered with school paste( which is, after all, flour and water). I sent it back and got an omelet. They got this out to me in minutes so I did eat with the rest of the tbale. No argument or anythig- they clearly wanted me to be happy. I really appreciated that since I really hate sending anythig back- it feels like I am making a scene. The eggs were cooked to rubber and sort of wrapped around brown avacado, crumbled to dust but overcooked bacon, and a decent amount of good cheese. It was not what I would have called an omelette and certainly nothing I would have served anyone at home. The people sitting around me had the monte cristo thing with egg. The things reeked with cinnamon so that I couldnt eat my food without having such a stong scent of cinnamon that it colored the flavor of my food. Not good. They ate the stuff and seemed happy with it. I would not have wanted to eat it with that much cinnamon. One the pieces of bread was absolutely black with loose cinnamon sugar. The fries were really good. The corn cake and egg special got rave reviews. The service was friendly and prompt. I imagine that the average IQ of the staff was 120. They were quick and friendly to deal with my unhappiness at the chipped beef. I didnt tell them about my experience with the omelette because in seeing others come out, it is the way they make it- a cake of whisked eggs on top of the omelette "filling". This is the way they make it. That is fine and they seem popular; its just not for me. Many reviews complain of the decor. I can undertand why some people might be put off by it. Very busy, lopped off doll parts, upside down things on the ceiling, but I thought it was funky and fun. I thought it was clean. I thought a lot of thought and effort had gone into the decor. The outside plantings were inventive and the pez dispenser display has to been seen! All in all I would say that the problems were user error. I know better how to order next time and I hope to go back.

I generally love the Paper Moon Diner , but my visit today, might be my last! We ordered breakfast, which was good... but after we ate the owner of the restaurant told us to leave... that there were other people waiting. We hadnt long been finished with our food when we were basically ushered out! The owner, who was removing our plates said, "you are leaving now..." so I asked "so, we have to leave?" and she said, "we have people waiting, so yes." In any restaurant, there is a wait based on how long people take to eat/talk. We actually had a wait to eat... but to be asked leave and then she says what she says and then walks away is unheard of and poor customer service. Im sure the owner wanted us to pay, but after that point I really didnt want to give this establishment any of our money. Because of who WE are we paid and left a tip, because our waiter was excellent, but it was hard to leave any money in this establishment. The restaurant was busy, so not only what she did rude, but it was embarrassing as there were other people around that witnessed this! Ive been coming to this restaurant for years, starting as a student at Johns Hopkins and never had this issue. This new owner is absolutely horrible!! Hopefully theres someone over her that can correct her poor behavior!

This place was pretty OK. The first thing I really, really loved about it was the funky decor. Little Tchotchkes everywhere, a trip down nostalgia lane for some of us. I was seated right away and that brings to my first let down. The coffee. It just wasnt good. It wasnt flavorful or hot enough. No matter, I bravely looked over the menu. I settled on a veggie omelet with pancakes on the side. The veggies in the omelet were SUPAH fresh, and so tasty, but the omelet is cooked differently than I am used to. Most places put the ingredients in while the eggs are still setting, so the stuff gets all mixed in and coated in egg. Here they put the ingredients on after the egg was already set, so it was kind of like a veggie soft taco with an egg instead of a tortilla. Not bad, just different. Then pancakes and my second let down, they were only OK. I really wanted them to be FABULOUS, and they just werent. Last, no one came by to bring me any more coffee (so I cant tell you if that awful cup was an anomaly or not). The check was reasonable, people were friendly, and the menu looked interesting, but for this tip I can go only give it an OK. Def going to go back and see if it was just an off day, will update when I do!

So how many people know that Paper Moon Cafe on 29th Street Baltimore, MD was my all time FAVORITE Breakfast spot EVER????? Well, As I do whenever I have guest from out of town I take them there but maybe because it was Packed Sunday, the owner gave me the WORSE experience ever !!!! A party of 9 and 7 peopler were there, she said in the nastiest tone... we refuse to seat you until your entire party show up NOW WAIT OUT SIDE!!!! So we changed it to 7 people because our guest was hungry... she said: Well I placed you in the back of the line.... I like the food so much we waited for 45 minutes longer, Tyrice Gorham asked her how long will it be???? In another nasty tone she said: Didnt I tell you that you were next??? TYyrice said you didnt tell me anything. ... Were pissed but didnt leave yet.... She then set a party of 6 who JUST walked up 5 minutes ago.... I asked for the manager and she stated she was the owner and what do I expect her to do... I believe in 100 % customer Service and I promise you that my guest had to pull me out of there because it wouldnt have ended well ... Well Ms PAPER MOON WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN

Me and a group of 6 friends went to this place for the first time and the last time today. The owner was rude throughout the entire experience. First we were greeted at the door by a nice young lady with a smile and we said party of 8 we had six in the building. She told us we had to wait for all 8 to arrive but was seating us at 2 tables of 4 so we didnt understand why we could just sit. Instead of waiting we chose to sit without our two other friends. We sat down and no one greeted us for at least 15 minutes. Finally we ordered drinks and then our two friend showed up. The owner would not let them sit with us even though we had two chairs at our one 4 top table that were not being used. What were they planning to sit other random people there? So they finally let them sit with us. The rest of the meal the manager was rushing us to leave and was still zapping out at her wait staff. You could tell they hated their jobs because they rolled their eyes with every step.
