My wife and I were visiting Baltimore for our July 4 weekend and decided to drop in on a DDD recommended joint: Sip & Bite. I love Greek food so it wasnt much of a stretch. ¶ We ordered the spinach pie, which Ive had and loved at local Greek fests. The pie was fine but not especially good. The side Greek salad came with lettuce that had brown edges which suggests non-fresh ingredients and if you see that in one dish what does that have you thinking about the others. The Greek salad tasted all right but its hard to ignore the lettuce. ¶ So if everything tasted okay, why the bad rating? ¶ Service. There was none. ¶ You walk in and are greeted by a shout of "sit anywhere you want". Fine. We did. The waitress did all of two things: took our order and brought us the food. Beyond that, there wasnt a single other interaction. No "hows the food" or "can I get you anything"? She didnt even bring us the check. Even as I got up and stood by the register I was never acknowledged. When she arrived at the registered there wasnt even an exchange beyond taking the card from my hand and returning it to my hand. ¶ When I eat out food is one component. The other component is service. So when there is none youre already down. ¶ I also usually like a place with some kind of ambiance, but I guess I understand that youre sort of giving up on that when you choose to go to a diner. But when the personal charm of having a server show some hospitality is completely gone, whats left? The food better be utterly delicious, and since it wasnt, I have to reconsider any joint Guy Fieri recommends on DDD.

My husband and I came to Baltimore for a getaway wknd and I Googled in search of great eats!! I noticed that SIP AND Bite was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, for their famous crab cakes so I figured wed give them a try!! We popped in on Friday evening and Veronica, our server, gave us a run down of all their amazing menu items!! We decided on the cream of crab soup (amazing), crab cakes (equally amazing) and salad with the house dressing)! Veronica did not disappoint! We loved our meal and the price!! Saturday, we visited the Harbor and decided to check out the Rusty Scupper! We were sadly disappointed that the cream of crab was absolutely no comparison to Sip and Bites!! Needless to say, we ended up back at Sip and Bite on our last day! I tried and loved the chicken and waffles along with more cream of crab and my hubby ordered our usual! Lol!! Thanks Veronica and the staff at Sip and Bite!! Ill be sure to tell everyone to check you guys out when they are in town!! The Presleys!!

I have always liked to eat here ! As well as many of my family and friends have ALWAYS enjoyed eating here also. My boyfriend and I have been known to visit the establishment several times a month. The food, service, and atmosphere are always usually very nice. Although, I do have to admit that on our last visit there ( which was fathers day ) I can not say the same type of nice things about our visit. The waiter we had ( who I had never seen there before then ) was well, ..... Not very good at all ! ( to be nice about it ) She did several things wrong .... Including for getting about coming back to our table to take our order, she was eating her food while on the floor working, another waiter ( who usually waits on us ) had to bring " us " to her attention ( while she was eating her food )

People visit the Sip and Bite after a nights round of barhopping in the nearby area of Fells Point because its one of the few places still open. Its probably a good thing most people are already drunk when dining here in the wee hours as the food is substandard, to say the least. While Ive never had the legendary crabcake, I have had their breakfast fare, occasionally accompanied by a stray hair. Like its cousin on the west side, Paper Moon Diner, (which used to be open 24 hours) both the customers & the wait staff encompass a wide assortment of people, from students to artists & musicians to locals - you just never know whos going to be there or what might happen, and thats the real reason you come here - for the atmosphere & people, NOT for the food. Stick to the coffee.

I came in today to pick up a for a delivery for uber eats. Even though the restaurant was only half full, no one would make eye contact with me for several minutes. When I announced that I was from uber eats, no one bothered to look for my order. The guy behind the counter did tell the waitress who had just bumped into me and did not even apologize for doing so while i was waiting, rudely stated she didnt have time to look for my order. No one even bothered to say, someone will be right with you the entire time. I cancelled the order. I will never deliver food for nor eat here again.

Nothing about our experience (wife and 3-year old son) was enjoyable. The wait staff was overwhelmed and we did not receive menus or water for about twenty minutes. My son ordered orange juice, which was glorified, watered down Tang. Our coffee came out without cream or sugar - that took another 5 minutes to square away. Then the food came...Vegetarian burrito with uncooked spinach and canned mushrooms - tasty... Oh and we never got refills on our burnt coffee. Much better places to go for a similar price - Golden West and Atwaters to name a few. Will not go back. Vastly overrated.

So I went there with my bff around 1am this morning. Whn we got there it wasnt very crowded so we sat at the counter. We ordered the stuff shrimp and a crab cake and seafood combination and the house salad with shrimp. Well they ran out of shrimp while doing our order so they took money off with no problem. The stuffed shrimp was gigantic and delish. It was a three man show Mikey on the food, the waitress and the dish washer.. It got crowded and the waitress still remain friendly.. I def will go bck again.. Great way to start my bday!

Had the worst experience here...soon as we came in the door, a waiter tried to put other ppl in front of us ...definitely borderline racists...food came to the table cold & drink was completely wrong...shivered the entire time of dining...crab cake was mushy on the inside & fried hard on the outside...steak barely had any meat...utensils were dirty & the waitress knew! ...definitely not a family place, majority of the customers were tricks & hos ...NEVER AGAIN WILL I RECOMMEND NOR VISIT THIS PLACE !

SO i visit this place only because it was on DDD and the place seemed to be at the time a nice looking and well rounded place (that was for TV). The decor was old, cramp style, who has a microwave visible for all to see (put that in the back)......the menu was not appealing to me at all. My husband and I left and went somewhere else to eat for dinner. I would of gave a half a star, only because Guys picture is on the wall, other than that....THUMBS DOWN.
