I love good sashimi and this place has some of the best I have ever had. However, we are unlikely to return. Parking is abysmal. I didnt expect free parking but damn, the closest parking garages are mostly reserved or valet. It really puts a damper on a date when you spend 30+ minutes getting parking. When we got to the restaurant we were the second table seated...and somehow forgotten about. It took 30 minutes to get a drink order, another 20 after that for our food order, and just under an additional hour to get sashimi. SASHIMI. We tempted desert and the wait was just as long as everything else. We saw people around us seated, served, and out the door who had arrived long after us. We were there for three hours. While the food was stellar, it put my husband and I off on our weekly date night. We wont be returning. If you have a ton of time and are staying locally, the food is top notch...but the service...failed.

Visited Azumi this Saturday for a birthday party! Was not happy with the service, but was not going to complain. Sunday I was severely sick with food poisoning and felt extremely bad. In the morning today I found out that 4 other people from the birthday party had the same symptoms, and one girl nearly got to the hospital after fainting! Im extremely upset! I found out that people were poisoned there before multiple times! How is this possible in 5* place??? This is absolutely outrageous! Im going to file a complaint to Baltimore City board of health. If it wont shut them down then at least more inspections will be performed and other customers will not suffer like we did! Im still recovering. The worst I have ever felt in my life! I will not let it slide!

Upscale Japanese fusion restaurant with great harbor views and expensive prices. Fancy interior and club music playing in the background throughout. The sushi was excellent, but extremely expensive for just a cut of fish. Entrees and appetizers were good, but nothing groundbreaking. Again, for that price level you kind of expect more. One thing that did stand out were the signature mixed drinks which were excellently crafted and presented. After trying a couple selections, each cocktail had a very deep palate that is hard to find anywhere else. Overall, Azumi makes for a great night out for a special occasion or if you have money to burn. However, just be aware that you are paying for the privilege.

Enjoyed the alfresco dining one Saturday evening. Tried the smoked salmon sushi, Chesapeake roll, the little crab appetizer. Staff was very attentive and informative about the menu offerings. So many other delicious looking items I want to try next time..... (update) had an amazing happy hour today, tried some new things. Just as pleased with the food as before. Had the Sautéed Mushrooms, Scottish Salmon Crudo, Sawagani Crabs, Tempura Rock Shrimp a Chardonnay and Old Fashion. Staff was great, sat inside in the bar lounge. There were a few unsavory patrons at the bar clearly doing drug deals withe thier pants so low all thier rear ends were out. Otherwise it was good.

Terrible prices for what you are actually getting. Fancy prices make you think the food will be fancy too. $7 regular Japanese house salads?? Seriously? I ordered the spicy tuna roll ($10) and got poop on a plate. It was ok tasting but their spicy sauce was mostly mayo and the tuna inside was a big lump that was weirdly firm. When I asked if they could ask crunch flake to the roll, they responded with no. Yet my husbands roll came with it on it? No special orders I guess? Idk. And when the server asked how was everything, and I stated my distaste, he just "Im sorry" and left. ???? Ok weirdo! Why ask if you arent going to fix it. Dont think Ill be back.

We went for the Chefs Tasting Menu and, despite it being 5 courses, we were told the courses would be smaller portions of many of their dishes so we were assuming wed maybe get 5 bite sized dishes - we were so wrong, and SO stuffed. The entire meal was amazing, and well worth it. The drinks were very well made - we went for almost one of every cocktail throughout the night and every single one was awesome. If youre not going for the tasting menu, I definitely recommend at least going for the king crab legs hot appetizer - the spicy soy butter on top of very meaty claws/legs was amazing. Well be back for sure.

By chance discovered they have an attractive happy hour menu. Dishes were decently sized and ranged between $5-8. Sapporo and Kirin Light regular sized drafts were only $2! Three of us decided to make it into an early dinner, ordered practically one of everything, and left very content and sated. This rating is strictly for happy hour, but one in our party had been there before for dinner and felt the quality of the dishes was the same. Note that happy hour is only available inside and not in the patio area, based on what our server explained.

I dined at Azumi for a business dinner. I really enjoyed the Kyushu Margarita. Very fruity and sweet! I also sampled the calamari, mushrooms and eggplant as a starter. My favorite is definitely the eggplant. It just melted in your mouth. We shared 4 sushi rolls, grilled octopus and a plate of edamame between 3 people. It was enough food. Service was great - they were very attentive. Overall, good food, good service but very pricey.

After Pabus departure from the Harbor East Four Seasons, I was worried Baltimore wouldnt be able to experience high-end Japanese cuisine any longer. That fear is irrelevant now with Azumis arrival in the city. The food, cocktails, and service have been 5 stars. Cant wait to see how this place continues to grow and change the Baltimore dining scene!

Definitely a place for splurging. They have delicious cocktails that pack a punch, but if thats not your poison then the extensive sake and Japanese whiskey (!) selection might be your jam. Sushi is excellent, but what really sets it apart is the service. Attentive but never pushy, our servers always made sure we had an excellent time.

Modern, trendy, expensive. A place you take someone if you want to impress them. A place you go to be impressed. The sushi is delicious, the cocktails are expensive and delicious. They have a large selection of Japanese whiskies to choose from, if thats what youre into.

Both times Ive been to Azumi, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the food and drinks were wonderful, and the atmosphere was inviting. Despite the dress code warning on the door, we have definitely been in jeans and a nice shirt. Will definitely go again.

Where to start? Staff are great and friendly, fish is super fresh, and non-sushi entrees are delicious. I make a point of stopping here every time I come to Baltimore because its that good. Favorite entrees: Miso Marinated Black Cod Wagyu Strip

ok food for overrated quality. They try to be authentic but the quality is not there yet. I expect to see the real wasabi at this price. The rice is done so wrong. This is another failed Japanese fusion restaurant with the good view.

Service was horrendous and had my $370 dinner come all at once. Waited over an hour for my cocktail. Waited over an hour and 20 for my two appetizers and had them and my steak come within 5 min of each other. Awful awful awful
