Took a friend to the Auburn location on Tuesday. I have eaten at this location, Augusta and Portland several times and thought he might enjoy it. I had the carnitas soft tacos and he had the Street Style tacos. I have traveled the country near and far and I can truthfully say these were the absolute BEST carnitas tacos I have ever had - bar none. The meat was plentiful and had both a nice crispy texture and a soft, tender interior. The condiments were generous. They also were outstanding. I actually ate 3 bowls of it and could have eaten more but I had exceeded my nacho chip limit for the day. My friend was also impressed with his meal. We will definitely make this a regular stop when our wives give us a boys day out. Thanks for the great food and very pleasant service.

My wife and I LOVE mexican food and will go out of our way to seek out good authentic Mexican. On Sept. 11, 2016 about 4:30 PM we tried Margaritas in Auburn Maine. The lady seating us and our waitress were very nice provided great service. The food was mediocre at best. Meat was overcooked and (as we both had fajitas) cooked even more on the hot plates it came out on... restaurant is a bit dates and quite dark inside, noticed things like stains on the carpet, etc. The booths were small and very cramped (not comfortable at all). Price was on the higher side for the area, but much cheaper than in CT where we are from. Conclusion: good service, nice people, dark/dirty/dated inside, food, not worth coming back for.

Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a mojito and it came with rotten mint in it, literally black and a piece of mangled fruit in it that I couldnt identify, I just knew it wasnt a lime. Just gross. I sent it back and got a beer which was really cold and great- Hard to screw up a beer. The nachos were lame. Whatever cheese they used was tasteless. The refries on the side were also tasteless. My entree was ok but the other two dishes ordered were not great with more than half left uneaten. Pretty disappointing. I still tipped 20%. If you have a crappy cocktail and meal, dont stiff your server. Its not their fault the chef and bartender have low standards. This place needs an overhaul.

Sat at the bar on 4/6/17. The bartender was nice and had nice tattoos. I ordered the same thing I always order when visiting a Margaritas... Mexican flag with black beans and rice. I sat there wondering what was taking so long (even though the restaurant was not busy) and observed the cooks standing talking to the bartender for a good amount of time, not sure but it looked like they were drinking alcohol. When my food was served, the cheese was burned and the enchiladas stuck to the plate. I was shocked that there wasnt a manager around to see this blatant socializing. Needless to say I probably wont be back.

Delivery to table can be slow but you get free chips and salsa as you wait. Food is always delicious and tastes fresh. The atmosphere is great and there is always some celebration going on. This is a popular place for fundraisers so if you see someone in the lobby holding a stack of papers go up and ask about it, theyre not allowed to come up to you as a policy created by Margaritas. If you do go up to them they will most likely give you a piece of paper if you show it to the waiter/waitress 20% of your meal price will go to the fundraiser.

Terrible food. Rubbish. I asked for Carnitas.. They gave me two tortillas with small pieces of bacon and some burn fat pork. The need to go BJs in Aurburn and see the Carnitas by Aragon Sanches. I mentioned this because is closer to them. Mainer probably do not know too much about Mexican food. They are robbing you. I have lived in nine States of USA, three different continents and I had visited Mexico four times. I know about food. Carnitas never has bacon. Instead pork meat they gave burn fat.. like chicharones (Pork skin)..

We spend the winter in Florida so we were probably expecting to much when we decided to go here for some Mexican food, without a doubt the worst Mexican food we have had, we came home and found something to eat, very disappointed, the only thing good was the waitress was good. The rice had no taste at all, my wife had an enchella which was over cooked and stuck to the plate, I had a very dry and tasteless burrito.

Mexican food in Maine is some what of an outlier but out of desperation for something South of the Border I tried margaritas and was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. I had the Mexican flag enchiladas and it was awesome. I did sample the chimichanga the next day and it was very good as well I would say 5 stars but I want to go back to just to make sure thanks for great time and experience.

Showed up for takeout and they had sent my food with someone else. Then I waited about 40 minutes while they tried to have the person bring the food back. I had to ask them to make me fresh hot food which is what they should have done right away when the mistake was discovered. They acted like it was not their fault and didnt offer me any kind of discount. In the end 2 hours passed since I first ordered.

Where do I start. So the first bartender got our drinks very fast, but then disappeared. The second bartender was present for a moment. Then pizza showed up and disappeared along with the other. And they werent just leaving patrons unattended there was dirty glasses all over the place. The margaritas were decent though, but the food was horrible. Not a happy camper at all..

Loved this place. Staff excellent and very friendly. Decor exceptional, from the moment you walk in its like being on vacation in Mexico, beautiful. Food was outstanding, portions large, desert menu if you have room ( I did not ) very nice, next visit will save room for the Fried IceCream. Highly recommend for special occasions or just a night out.

I can be a really tough food critic since I am Mexican and my grandfather is a chef. Margaritas is not real Mexican food, just a mere resemblance. Kudos to the decor and drink options, but the food is bland and the dishes so altered to cater to American palates I really cant bring myself to come back again.

Its pretty good tex-mex food, especially considering were about as far away from Texas and Mexico as you can get in the US. Nothing too spicy offered here, but everything Ive tried has had decent flavor. As this seems to be the best L/A has to offer in terms of Mexican food, well be back.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in L/A. We havent had a bad dish here. Its never especially crowded. The prices are reasonable and the portions large. Weve tried fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas, burritos, and they have all been great. Try the Mexican corn!

Not bad, Service was ok but there was a loud party there and to my surprise we were seated right next to them. Just the two of us. Kinda ruined the quiet romantic date but still, the food was nice. Waitress was busy. Didnt ask how the food was. Dressed for a marathon too.
