This was our second visit to El Paso at this location. We arrived a little over an hour before closing, and we were seated quickly and chips were out immediately. 8-10 minutes later or server came to the table to get drink orders. We placed or food orders at the same time. I ordered a dinner and a taco ala carte. About 5 minutes after that the server came back for clarification on my order, and about 10 minutes after that, back with drinks. The food was wrong when it came out (the dinner I ordered came out as an ala carte item). I understood that mistakes happen, and explained to the food runner that a mistake was made, and asked him to help to correct it. That obviously would have interfered with his flirting with the hostess. Another 10 minutes pass and our server comes by. I explained what happened, and ultimately he rang in what I originally ordered. Apparently the idea of voiding an item off of the check, ringing in the correct order, and bringing me the difference was lost on him(and the flirty food runner). I doubt well be back to this restaurant. Youre only as good as how you handle mistakes. I spent many years in the service industry, and because of this Im very understanding. Tonights experience was unacceptable. They only received 2 stars because I felt or other visit was a 3, and I went with the average.

My theory is that you can tell a lot about a mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa! El Paso passed the test, leaps and bounds. Their salsa is freshly made and you also get a delicious bean dip to start. Next...their margaritas! My husband and I ordered one of their organic margaritas, which was delicious. No pre-packaged margarita mix here; just a perfect, fresh blend of sweet, with the agave nectar, and tart, with the fresh squeezed limes. The food was the same...delicious! We had the chicken and steak enchiladas and the trio fajitas (steak, chicken, shrimp). On top of all of this greatness, the service was outstanding. I am so excited we have a mexican restaurant of this caliber in Metairie! It is also kid friendly, which is a plus with a 2 1/2 year old. Definitely a MUST TRY for anyone looking for tasty, fresh Mexican fare.

This place has a refurbished exterior (formerly an Asian restaurant, and a seafood restaurant, previous to that), and a clean, neat interior, with abundant televisions. Service is good, quick, and friendly. I ordered the No. 10 Lunch Plate (beef taco, enchilada burrito, and one tamal), which came with Chips & Salsa appetizer. This is nothing exotic, just standard, American Mexican food, but its well done, for the style. Most will like it. Foodies will find it dull. Id return and recommend it. RJT

I was greeted by a friendly staff, and did not wait long for a table. The waiter had great recommendations, and knew what he was talking about. The food was better than what I had expected based on other reviews, and although some dishes are not quite on the "El Gato Negro" level, it is definitely worth the price. I will be coming back again for the great fajitas! Highly recommended for someone looking for above average Mexican food without paying too much for it.

Our service was so bad, our servent did not check on us frequently also when we asked for boxes to go she came and picked up the appetizers to take them away to the kitchen. Like why did i tell her to give me a box to go not to put my food in it or for her to throw it away. The servent was very rude and was not respectful to us when we asked her for things. I would never go back again and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

I had high hopes for this place as I LOVE Mexican food and it was close by. Ate there a few nights ago with my boyfriend. Food was ok. But he ended up with food poisoning. Worse experience ever. We ate similar things except I didnt have any ground beef so guessing that was it. I took it as its a new restaurant and maybe they still have some things to figure out. But wont be going back again anytime soon if ever.

All I can say is "Excellent" I checked out El Pasos sharp-looking website and knew I had to have the lunch Fajitas Texanas. When it was delivered to the table it was obvious the ingredients were extra-fresh and abundant. And the taste was amazing. Perfectly seasoned and cooked peppers, chicken, and shrimp (I requested no onions) Thank you El Paso of Metairie! Ill definitely be back soon.

The food was good as always but the waiter was pretty arogant. She was very rude argumentive and when I asked her for a cup to go, her reply was we would have to wait because she had to bring the other table food out 1st. I have always liked eating here but today this waitress Jessica took the cake.

15 minutes to get a server after being told we were seated where there was no server. 30 minutes to get food, that wasnt right. 10 more minutes to get a (correct) chicken and cheese enchilada. Usually good food and good service - today was absolutely terrible.

Food tasted pretty good. They completely messed up my order, and took way to long to bring me the correct order. My family was halfway thru their meal before mine came out. Its very hard to find good Mexican food in this area. I guess we settle.

At this particular location I had one experience with slow service soon after they opened and one experience with fast great service more recently. I really like the food at all El Paso locations. This one is no different.

Good service! Delicious food and they have HORCHATA. Good for family gatherings as well. Only wish the large queso was actually large in size. Their margaritas are also really good and a "medium" is wayyy more than enough.

Everything on the menu is very reasonably priced. From the giant $12 sampler plate which would easily feed two or three people. To the $2 tacos. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back.

Drinks are good, especially the strawberry daiquiris. Food portions are bog and you can actually split a meal with someone and still have leftovers. Service is good; staff is attentive. Will definitely go back.

Best fajitas. Batter than superior grill. Better prices than velvet cactus and El gato negro. Velvet cactus does have a better selection of margaritas. The salsa and free bean dip is amazing

The service was good, but the food very average. Had much better around the area. Average price for a Mexican restaurant. Your money is probably better spent at another restaurant.

Great food, awesome waiting staff. My girlfriend and I have been here at least once a week. Mesquite grill with 44 oz margaritas, by far my favorite mexican restaurant around here.

The service is generally great and friendly, but it still has a corporate chain vibe. Its also pretty pricey for what it is. If youre in the area, hit Carretas.
