My wife and I live in Pensacola but originally from Baton Rouge. We decided to take my younger siblings (20 and 17) out to eat at Tokyo Cafe. We decided to get appetizers and sushi. I was the only one that has the appetizers. The edamame was by far the worst Ive ever had and the miso soup was ok. As far as the sushi (Philadelphia roll, snow crab roll, and crunchy crab roll)(we each ate a different roll and didnt taste the others rolls), it tasted ok until I crunched on some rock like substance. We finished our food and left. Before we even made it back to ours cars, we all had bad stomach cramps. Honestly we were lucky to make it back to Port Allen before having a bowel movement on ourselves. Wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy!!!

This is the best sushi Ive had in this city. The service is unbelievable Ive never walked into a restaurant time after time and felt so welcome and cared for. Every single staff member is polite and attentive, my absolute favorite sushi menu which you can add or mix or do whatever to any roll, I must say I have never had a bad experience here and I probably will not eat sushi anywhere else because I want to spend my hard earned money at this establishment. Oh, and the owners are the friendliest guys you will ever meet. Please dont pay attention to bad reviews, that is surely not regular service from this restaurant.

The waitress took my husbands order, left, and didnt take my order until long after his food had arrived. I ordered two sushi rolls without eel sauce because I hate it. When my food finally came, both were drowned in eel sauce. The baked salmon appetizer is actually two giant blobs of chopped up imitation crab stick with a molecule of salmon smacked on top. Everything took forever, especially the check. The food was extremely overpriced. There are MUCH better places for sushi in this city. The miniscule tip we left was much more than what was earned. We will not be back.

My wife and i had just moved to BR. This is the best sushi resturant in town. We had been to so many sushi places none of the others can compare to Tokyo cafe. They have great services and special rolls either raw or cooked. Their Hibachi is also great! For sure the Chefs can SHOW and COOK. If you were in town and cant think of where to eat.Def give them a try they will change your whole experiance on sushi and Habachi. Excellent!!!

Absolutely horrible! The hibachi chef was so rude, put on no show, and worst of all he rushed through it so bad everything was undercooked and raw. It was unedible! We complained they offered 20 percent off. I explained nothing was even ok enough to eat let alone pay for it. The manager come over and was so extremely rude and made it out to be our fault! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

I probably go to Tokyo cafe twice a month, or more, with friends or by myself. Ive come to known the managers and waiters. My favorite waitress is Hue. The moon roll is tastey, try it out. Hibachi is great too, the portions are unbelieveable. Makes nice hibachi leftovers :)

We went here with friends recently and the food was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and our chef was amazing. We had a better experience here at Tokyo Cafe than we did at Teppan Edo in Disney World. Now thats saying something! Well definitely be coming back soon!

I just love this place. The service and sushi are both wonderful. Best baked salmon I have ever had. High def tvs are available above the sushi bar if you want to catch the game but are not in the mood for a burger. This is by far the best place for sushi in baton rouge!

Went to this place twice. Sat down for an extended wait with no one to take my food or drink order and left. Only went back the second time after a friend really wanted to try it and it happened again. Cant comment on the food because I never got to try any.

This place is absolutely terrible .My boyfriend and I ate there yesterday and we have been sick with vommiting and diahrrea ever since. The service was poor and the food was definitely over priced for the quality. Stay away from this place!

Best sushi restaurant Ive tried in BR. Most stuff in the menu (especially sashimi!) are cheaper than any other sushi restaurant Ive been but had very good quality. The customer service was spectacular. Definitely recommended.

Phenomenal! This place has excellent everything - sushi, hibachi, staff, atmosphere, drinks, fun, etc. Plus, if its your birthday, they come out with a gong and sing to you! Always have a good time when we go and we go OFTEN.

I dont know if it was my hibachi chief or what but the food was terrible I could not eat it. I left and went to taco bell. Also I ordered an appetizer after about 30 min the waitress asked me if I still wanted it.

Excellent selection for lunch around 10 dollars including sushi, bento boxes and teriyaki dishes in Japanese spa like atmosphere. An inexpensive and relaxing lunch treat. Excellent servers.

The fried rice is bursting with flavor, but unfortunately for me, its loaded with onions. The sushi is wonderful. We went on a whim never had been before but definitely will be coming back.

Your kids will love the Hibachi experience and the servers are very nice, Good for a Special Occasion or Birthday. Ignore the very critical reviews. But it is expensive.

Had not been here in awhile. Place has went down. Very dirty!!! The chief was not entertaining and the food was very mediocre. Scratching it off my list.

Its been a staple for years. Wonderful food. Fun hibachi. The staff is hit and miss as Im pretty sure the turnover for waiters must be weekly.

The food is good and the atmosphere is nice. The quality of the hibachi show depends on who your chef is and if theyre busy at the time.

Hibachi is usually fun and pretty good. Sushi is pretty good too. Not my favorite place, but several of their rolls are excellent.
