I have never had a good customer service experience here. Appetizer order has been forgotten to be put in almost every time we go. Servers do not come to check on table or refill drinks. I have never walked out of a restaurant before, the last time I went I waited over 15 minutes after being seated with no one checking in on the table or taking a drink order. When we were seated the server came over to the table said nothing to us grabbed the extra plates from the table and walked away. Didnt bring water or ask us if we would like anything. Extremely rude, especially because there was only one other table in the restaurants and multiple servers. The sushi isnt bad but I will not be returning to this restaurant due to the horrible customer service I have received since day one.

I used to go to Yokos on occasion, but not nearly that often. The food before it change ownership, was good, but not great. Ever since the change over, I eat here on a regular basis. The fish is excellent, and their menu is, well, an adventure. Sushi dishes aside, I actually really enjoy their regular entrees as well, and while I havent had the Hibachi yet, Im sure itd be good. Also, their drink menu (both alcoholic and non-) is interesting and varied. Its always fun to take a friend their for the first time and see if they can successfully open a Ramune. My only complain is that some times the staff can be a little TOO attentive when theyre slow - If you know what I mean. Cost per person varies, from $15 up depending on what youre ordering.

Used to be a regular at Yokos, I was very sad to see them close. Just tried Sushi Pirate for the first time though and I was very impressed. The service was fast and friendly. The menu is much larger with a wider variety if ingredients. We tried several of the rolls in addition to one of the sushi and sashimi plates. The rolls were fantastic. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious, with unique flavor combinations. They tend to use jalapeno for spice instead of wasabi, which complimented the fish quite well in my opinion. The sashimi was fresh and tasty, good sized pieces too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for good sushi in La Crosse. (Not that there are that many other options...)

Overall the price was really good with a total bill, including a good tip, for two hungry people at: $45.93. We left satisfied. On the disappointing side, the bartender didnt know how to make a dirty martini. The staff didnt really understand when we asked for olive juice to get added to it. It may have been due to her spoken English coming out a bit broken but she tried (kudos). The sushi chef was also a bit too chatty when we were trying to just get away and have a date-night on our anniversary. The place looked clean and the staff was attentive. Sushi and sashimi were okay but nothing too exciting. Wed go back if we were in the neighborhood.

Sushi was ok.. cooked food(namely the mixed tempura) was disgusting. Poorly prepared. They comped my meal, which I appreciated because neither of us could stomach the undercooked batter. But The fact that they would even serve what I was able to identify at first sight as a screw up is what will keep me from coming back and cause me to warn my friends against it. Any restaurant that is willing to try to get me to pay for something that obviously inedible is not a restaurant I have any interest in revisiting.

This is our favorite place to come for sushi in La Crosse. Every time weve been in the staff has been extremely courteous and accommodating, even if we happen to have forgotten their hours and show up near closing time. Our meals are always outstanding and they are always happy to recommend a new item to try if we are feeling adventurous. They also offer a Hibachi option if that is more to your liking. If youre looking for sushi in La Crosse, certainly check out Sushi Pirate.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in LaCrosse. I have been coming here since they opened. I was disssapointed tonight when I came in about the gift card special, it is very misleading. We were told you can buy them but you cant use them today. I asked them to honor it because its not indicated anywhere on the promotions information. They said no that it wasnt their policy. It will still remain my favorite place to eat in LaCrosse.

Im really not sure how this place has such good ratings. The food was pretty mediocre, and definitely overpriced for the quality of food. It was more like mall food at at least twice the price. The presentation wasnt even very good. Ive never had sushi where they didnt give me wasabi and ginger. It seems like theyre trying to cut a lot of corners.

Im not sure if it was just our lunch, or weve been ruined by better options, but the quality honestly wasnt what it used to be. I feel they place used to be more elegant, now theres pictures of captain barbosa and Jack Sparrow. This isnt a movie theater or theme park ( sorry).

The sushi was overloaded with too many ingredients. It took away from the taste. Even though there was so many ingredients, the flavor was bland. This was the worst sushi Ive ever had and the service was so bad I will never do business there again.

Awful, overpriced food. They dont even use fresh vegetables with their chicken teriyaki, it looks like it came out of a microwave. Service was average. If youre looking for authentic japanese food dont go here.

Best place for sushi in La Crosse, hands down! Staff are extremely helpful and patient, food is always ready quickly and they always get my order correct. Plus, they have Lucky Buddha beer, which I love.

Good selection and quality of food. Menus need better descriptions. Comfortable atmosphere, except a beeping noise that repeats (low battery on fire alarm?). To pricey.

Sushi pirate is such an incredible experience! I was avidly against sushi, until I tried a Philadelphia roll from sushi pirate! The delivery is great too! Super quick!

Fantastic sushi, great ambiance. The back part of the restaurant has an old-school feel to it with the lounge-y music. Lunch specials are phenomenally priced.

From out of town, huge fan of sushi. I found this sushi overpriced, and comparable to some sushi that can be bought from a grocery store. Not impressed

For La Crosse, this is about as good as you are going to get. This fish tasted fresh and I didnt need to use a heavy amount of wasabi.
