Food was OK but for sure have had MUCH better Korean food! Took over 5 minutes to sit us and we were the only people at the counter! As we ordered we were told that they would not make part of our order because it would take too long....thought that was odd but we shrugged it off. We NEVER received the drinks we ordered. And only got water. Which was never refilled! Waited a good twenty minutes on our mang doo which was OK but once again Ive had better. After we finished our mang doo it took another thirty minutes to get our main course. My boyfriend said his main course was good, but my pike fish wasnt that good and had a very bitter taste the more I ate. Then we had to go ask for the ticket because she did not return to our table. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the service! After we walked in a family of 5 with 3 small children came in. And then a party of 16 which must have been related to the owners came in and welcomed themselves to the kitchen the whole time they were there. They literally went in and out of the kitchen as if it was their kitchens at home! Shortly after the family arrived a couple came in and their order was never taken while we were there and I know this because the young lady came over to our table to complain about the service and to ask how we felt about it! Anyways the family of 5 never received any food the whole hour and fifteen minutes they were there. But yet the 16 people that continued to go in and out of the kitchen was almost done eating when we left! Oh and did I mention a party of 6 actually got up and left after having to sit themselves and never receiving any service for 15 minutes. As I said before the service was absolutely HORRIBLE! and the prices were a little high!

Guessing ordered in an off hour since when I went to pick up my togo order nobody was there (called at 4 and picked up at 430). Called ahead and lady on the phone was very nice, English was very broken but was extremely polite and made sure we both understood each other. I got the spicy beef bulgogi (did see it in the menu but asked if theyd make it and she said yeah), friend wontons (she seemed to think wonton soup which made me think this too may not have been on the menu), and large order of kimchi. Best thing about the quality of the food was the sticky rice which wasnt very sticky but was good. Absolutely not Chinese restaurant quality and was actually sticky. Bulgogi was beef and spicy and was great at first, after getting under the visible top layer it was nothing but mush. Which is about where that met the trashcan. Kimchi was subpar. Cabbage didnt taste bad but was also mush, radish wasnt great, cucumber was alright but largely mush, and bean sprouts werent great and some were grey. The rest I didnt try since theyre just not my thing. Finally the wontons were largely flavorless and accompanying dipping sauce made me gag. In short wasnt great of even good. Service is only thing that was actually amazing. Was honestly surprised with how helpful she was. Outside of that will not be going back now or any time in the near or distant future. No pictures largely because wasnt worth looking at more than I needed to.

I live directly across the street from this restaurant but had never been. I am not from Louisville, KY and have missed the cuisine I have grown to love. Being a military brat I have been afforded to taste some of the tastiest Korean dishes. This restaurant is ok, but there is more to be desired if you are honest about everything. When I walked in it was clean, check, but my fiance and I were left standing there not knowing wether to seat ourselves or what, so we waited on instruction, you seat yourself there... The food was excellent, I had bulgogi, since it was my first time I tried something that I know is pretty hard to mess up, and it was delicious. Fiance had the combo rice, for the less adventurous. My only qualm about this was that when our hostess brought the fiances food out she knocked a cup of water into his plate, she did not replace his meal.....SHE POURED THE WATER OUT, SAID SORRY BUT DID NOT REPLACE HIS DISH.....MY REVIEW IS DONE, I JUST GOT MAD ABOUT THAT ALL OVER AGAIN FOR 45.00 THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER! I hope if I ever go there again she remembers my face because she owes me one lol. NEXT TIME ILL HAVE THE JJAMPONG!!

I have never had Korean food until my friend (half Korean) said I needed to try this. So taking a chance we went to another local Korean place over in St. Matthews. The food was over priced and bland. From what my friend stated, the last thing Korean food should be is bland. So, we looked around and found Koreana Restaurant II. Upon entering it looks like a Japanese Grill place (all the vents are over the tables for BBQ cooking). But thats where the ssimilarities stop. A night Koreana Grandma takes care of you, inviting you into her home. She takes your order and you are about taste authentic Korean Cuisine. From the Kim bop, to the chicken bulgogi (which she made mild for poor me!!!) everything was hot and fresh. The side are also nothing to sneeze at. Just like in a tranditional Korean household, the side items are where its at. Quick Sauteed Pea Sprouts, cucumber kim chi (YUMMY), regular kim chi, sauteed mushrooms, daikon radish, all are just fresh and yummy. I cant recommand this place enough. Dont let one bad review take you down. They are AWESOME!

The beef prepared was pretty delicious!! i love how korean restaurants give those little appetizer dishes in the beginning. This restaurants little appetizer dishes were ok. I was really disappointed when my Bi bim bap came, and it was just ingredients made up of the little dishes. There was no art or effort put forth in my dish. In addition, one of the ingredients in my dish was rancid. I dont know exactly what it was..but something had a festered taste. I ordered a spicy tofu vegetable soup which was pretty depressing. It looked and tasted as if, they just boiled a bunch of random ingredients...and threw in some kim chi. I wouldve been able to tolerate this experience and perhaps go again and try something new if it didnt cost so much. My bill came out to $37 for ordering two entrees bu gol gi, bi bim bap, and a tofu soup. Needless to say, I wont be trying this place ever again.

I liked it. Very few people when we showed up and seems a bit run down, but the kim-chi and veggie appetizers were very good - some of the best Ive had in a Korean restaurant and many more of them than I typically get (I could have just had those, a bowl of rice and a beer and been happy). Beef Bulgogi was good, though she didnt catch I wanted it spicy (it normally doesnt come that way here, the chicken bulgogi was good as well (and its normally spicy here). Overall a good meal and I wasnt disappointed - plenty of leftovers for two men eating a dinner meal on the road.
