One word ... Prejudice... Travel all the way home to KY to have some of their Charim wings ... Fist time we ordered them .. We didnt know the name of them so we called them hot braised chicken wings ... Confirmed it with the girl several times and she said she new what i was talking about ... Got there and was given hot wings... Decided to get over it ... Went back the next day ordered specifically the Charim wings ... Was told 15 min ... Got there around 20 min later ... The whole restaraunt was filled with Caucasian customers and I stood at the podium for about ten minutes and watched as the server came in and out of the kitchen waiting on the customers and she saw me every time she came out . Another 10 min passed and she didnt even stop to say ur order will be up soon or have a seat we will be right with u ... Nothing. I even stood there and called the restaraunt from my mobile device and they still didnt come to the desk. I finally got mad and left. I called from my car and told her to cancel the order and told her how I had to wait and no one said anything. How disappointing to be so rudely treated... Thank heavens there is a place like ... Arriang on Popular level road that recognized a loyal customer after having left the state after 1 year and they remembered my whole family and were very kind. In this day and age prejudice is still very much alive.

In KY on a business trip from CA/AZ: At first I was skeptical that a small suite could serve good food, especially in Kentucky. As soon as I entered it reminded me of so many places Ive been to in LAs K-town. The place is clean and fairly spacious. Authentic korean food, just like LA. This place isnt a grill your own; they grill the meat in the kitchen. Everyone on the reviews talk about how good the Chicken Bulgogi is, but I had to try out one of my favorite dishes and a traditional summer dish. The Pajeun or thick pancake was good, but it still had small shrimp tails on it :/ I ate through it like my father taught me. The cold buckwheat noodles were great! Chewy with lots of flavor in the broth. It wasnt served drowned out in ice. I was eating alone but they still served me a lot of delicious Ban-chan, or side dishes. Extra points: had a photo of Chef Ed Lee with the owner. The waitress was cute and smiled a lot. Ill be back to try out the BBQ and stews.

Great food and great service. This small strip mall hidey-hole delivers a powerful punch of goodness. Those people who love Korean food love good kimchi and rarely find it, and this place has what you need! Try the radish, cucumber, or the regular kimchi and you will see how fun it is to "build your bibimbap" yourself. Even the barbecued peanuts they give you with the bibimbap are awesome. The tofu and kimchi appetizer is very delicious and filling. I cant wait to go back and attack the noodle soup part of the menu! If you are looking to be health conscious or gluten-free or vegetarian, this would also be a great choice for you!

The food is excellent and the menu nicely varied! I have been to South Korea and was looking for the taste and quality Id experienced while traveling there. I found it at Charim. The staff is friendly and, while not native English speakers, will work to help answer any questions you might have. I highly recommend the Seafood Pancake appetizer, any of the stone Bibimbap bowls and the Bulgogi soup ... though there isnt anything bad on the menu.

Really enjoyed the food here. Had the Hot Stone Bibimbap wth chicken and beef bulgogi, Mung bean cake, and fried tofu. All were delicious, but particularly enjoyed the bibimbap and mung bean cake. The bibimbap was nicely charred on the bottom. Try the corn and barley tea. As a bonus they use the purple rice if you order brown rice... Its beautiful and delicious!

I eat here all the time and regularly order Sundubu Jigae (tofu soup). I love the atmosphere, its never too loud and the food is exceptional. The staff is sweet and attentive. The chef has come out to greet and check on me a few times during my plethora of visits. I hope Charim remains extremely successful because I love eating here. - Jonathan Burton

Ive eaten at Korean places all over the country & this one is by far in my top 5. The owner comes out & says hello to us every time we go. She is friendly & its a family business. Kid friendly environment. Cozy & welcoming. To go food so fast & easy. We moved last year but I cant wait to visit to say hello & eat up. Definitely a must try.

Great service. Expect long wait due to tasty food is being prepared. To make the wait shorter, order beer and/or sake and insist that the appetizers are served immediately rather than with the meal. The food arrives steaming hot so be careful, but this is another feature I love to eat here. The food stays warm throughout the mealtime.

This is one of my favorite restaurants, which says a lot, since there are so many excellent choices in Louisville! I have never been disappointed. The food tastes authentic, from what I remember during my short stay in Korea. My son and I love coming here. The waitresses are very nice, too. Its a little pricey, but I never regret it!

The menu is simple and good. The food tastes more like home cooking than at other restaurants because this place doesnt use MSG nor too much salt. I actually prefer this style of cooking plus this place uses quality ingredients. I had 5 different items on the menu in 2 visits and I actually ate them all and enjoyed it very much.

Good food but ridiculously long wait. I hate to give a bad review because the people were so nice, but it was an hour and fifteen minutes after we ordered that we got our food and our server did not check on us and refill our drinks very often during that time as well. Hopefully this was just a fluke.

This place is great. Went with friends and then took my wife a couple weeks later for date night. Everything we had was fantastic and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend going. And yes, I know its a Korean restaurant and wings isnt what you first think of, but the wings are great!

Wonderful little korean restaurant. More sit down than some of the others in Louisville with complimentary traditional Korean appetizers. I was worried that my wife who isnt always open to different food, but she loved their bulgogi and Charim is her favorite asian restaurant

Fantastic Korean cuisine! The stone bowl, hot pot, and soups are delicious. You receive kimchi and many various Korean side dishes at your table that are all interesting and worth a try. The staff is nice. The atmosphere feels like a strip mall but dont let that stop you!

Everything is good and authentic! Yet my favorite is to get a Pajeon(seafood pancake) for an appetizer, a grilled bulgogi and a sundubu soup (soft tofu soup) to share for the entrees. They go very well together! Love the food, service and the modern interior.
