The Smokey Pig was suggested to us as a possible dinner destination on our way to the KHSAA football playoffs, and Im glad we deiced to give it a try. None of our party of six had ever been there before, so we were kind of flying blind when it came to ordering. Because of that, we went with some advice and had the shoulder platter, dipped. This came with two sides, red skin mashed potatoes and vinegar slaw, but the meat was far and away the star of the meal. The meat was "dipped", which was supposed to make it more spicy, but I thought it just gave it more flavor, not heat. (I like spicy food, so YMMV.) The meal came with two slices of white bread and bbq sauce was found on the table. I just pulled the first piece of shoulder apart and dipped it in the sauce to get an idea for the overall flavor, which I found excellent. I ate two more slices as mini sandwiches with the white bread. (I think there were six slices in all. Think thick cut bacon+.) The sides were good, nothing to write home about, but they dont have to be. I could have ordered either mac & cheese or baked beans, which I will probably do the next time I visit, and there WILL be a next time. Well worth the trip if youre passing through Bowling Green.

I really enjoyed my lunch here. The service was good and the food was delicious. The place was easy to find because as we pulled up you could see, and smell, the smoke from them cooking. It only added to the anticipation of the meal we were about to have. The interior wasnt what I was really expecting though I dont judge a BBQ place by its interior work. I was greeted by very friendly workers who were very upbeat and helpful. After a moment of reviewing the options I decided on the large shredded pork sandwich. The sandwich was a good size helping and wasnt with any sauce though they do have sauces at the table. The meat was top notch and very high quality. My only knock would be that I enjoy a slightly drier meat and this was a little more moist than my usual preference but nothing to complain about. The sides were also very good and they provide free refills on drinks. I would easily recommend giving their food a try. I doubt youll be disappointed.

This is a small bbq joint that seems to be passionate about their meet. They focus on pork shoulder, pulled pork, and chicken. They use both a rub and vinegar dip approach as well as offering the tomato based sauce. I had the pulled pork and it was moist and delicious. I wanted the pork should but on a Friday night around 7:30, they had already sold out of the quarter chicken and pork shoulder. Thats probably a good sign to how popular it is with the locals.

Great tasting meat. If youre looking for authentic pulled pork BBQ, this is the place to go in Southern Kentucky. They smoke all their own meats. I lived in Bowling Green for 5 years and not a month went by where I didnt eat there at least once. Dont believe the haters, this place is the real thing. Though its a dive (and proud of it), the balcony actually has a wonderful view of the Barren River (beware of window seats if youre afraid of heights).

Best BBQ in bowling Green or the surrounding area period tried em all and this is the only one Ill go back to . Theyre a pain to get to where theyre located so we dont go often they almost always have long lines especially at lunch but you can call ahead your orders the prices are good which goes great with the quality some we have a very large family and normally end up getting a couple of their family packs

I dont know if I went on bad day, but i tasted almost no smoke flavor in bbq or ribs, and for a place to have "smokey" in its name, that is very disappointing. I had a couple good bites from the ribs that actually had good flavor (and smoke flavor that I like), and sauces they used were ok, but besides the macaroni, I was let down big time from being so highly recommended...

The driest pork shoulder with little to no smoked flavor Ive seen in 50 years. It was like eating beef jerky but without any taste. The chicken was a little better but still dry with very little smokiness. Bake beans were straight out of the can. The ice tea was good. Not sure if it was a bad day or what but we were there at 4pm on a Friday.

Delicious. My husband and daughter really loved the pork shoulder while my son and I preferred the pulled pork. The coleslaw was great and the smashed potatoes were delicious. We would visit again in a heartbeat. I promised I would mention that Lee is awesome (and a great ambassador for his business).

Good smoked pork. Most of flavor will come from sauce. 3 kinds of sauce mild, sweet and hot. Mashed potatoes are good. I like my baked beans a bit spicer so added some BBQ sauce to give them a kick. I recomend the family pack so you can take home for later snack or work the next day.

Best Southern pulled pork & pork shoulder I have ever had!! This place is absolutely delicious & the service is amazing. The pulled pork was juicy and tender. The pork shoulder was splendidly seasoned and paired with a finger-licking vinegar dip. This place is a must try!

Family operated and they are great folks. They knew it was our first time in and couldnt have been more helpful. The shoulder tastes like bbqd country ham. Sliced thin, salty, but good. The kids preferred the shredded pork. Vinegar slaw is excellent!

Lines can get long, but definitely worth the wait. Some of the best pulled pork Ive ever had in my entire life. The staff are incredibly friendly, which always seals the deal for me. If youre a BBQ lover, dont pass this place up.

Best place in town for true BBQ, the coleslaw is some the best I have eaten out 20 plus BBQ spots. Its the true vinager base sauce. I recommend the shoulder plate, for a true BBQ experience.

Little local place. Great BBQ and very good "tater" salad. Two thumbs up. ..... And that was last year. I went again today. Still extremely good. Their "Mayo Slaw" was also excellent.

Friendly staff the pulled pork sandwich was decent. The meat had good taste a little too watery though the sauces are great. No brisket at a bbq spot whats up with that..?
