We have eaten here a couple times before, and the first time we were here it was great. Im not sure what happened after that ,our waiter was great the food was good even though the first time we were there we were instructed not to order one or two things on the menu because in his opinion they werent that good. The second time we were there I ordered the French toast and it was normal thin loaf bread made into what they called french toast and it was terrible. The last time we were there we sat at a table that was so unstable that I spilled coffee on myself twice, the waitress was clueless and didnt give us a bit of service, and she told me that the Belgian waffle that I ordered and to make sure that it was crispy, she said they couldnt do because Belgian waffles arent that way. So as soon as somebody tells me that a Belgian is it supposed to be crisp and light that I know they have no clue as to what theyre talking about. Since the first time we had gone to Newport grill it has gone downhill in my opinion its snobby the foods not that great and the help is very lacking in service. We wont be going back for a long time.

On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this restaurant overall below 4. I had to send my $38.00 SMALL piece of Halibut back to the kitchen because it was cold and my husband said his was dry and tasteless (although he didnt send it back and no one asked him how it was). The fish that came out the second time was excellent - although it took 15 minutes to get it and everyone else was finished eating by then. The hash brown potato cassolet with a fancy name was good, but I expected a bit more effort here as well. My $8 Caesar salad romaine was not torn just sliced with a knife and dumped on a plate with boxed croutons. This restaurant is WAY too pricey to be served below par food. Wait staff was attentive and friendly, I give them an 8 out of 10. Ambiance was nice, a bit loud with the open bar right in the middle of the restaurant. I would suggest to others if they want excellent, well prepared fish to frequent the Bristol - you get what you pay for there. We will not go back to the Newport Grill.

Ate lunch here last week and got a real treat! Bacon wrapped dates and calamari appetizers, and the blueberry lemonade were the top surprises of the whole meal. Too much to explain...just try them and youll see. I had the Chilean Sea Bass, which was fresh and tasted great. One of my sons had the Scottish Salmon and I had a taste of it as well. In a nutshell, I think its the unlikely pairings with both food and drink that makes this place different. Step out on a limb and try something that seems weird--youll taste the difference. The server was like an encyclopedia so we were well informed on our choices. Very upscale atmosphere and top notch service.

My waitress and the rest of the staff were super nice! We had the beef rumaki as an appetizer and I will probably get that as my dinner next time! It was FANTASTIC! For my dinner I had the Chilean sea bass and my boyfriend had the swordfish. They both just tasted like any kind of regular store-bought fish to me-which wasnt bad at all but it didnt wow me. The whipped potatoes were awesome and the bruleed potatoes were AMAZING! I will definitely get those two sides again! It was a very upscale place but didnt have a "snotty rich person" kind of atmosphere. We sat on the patio and loved the lighting out there.

We have been to Newport Grill several times now and it has been consistently excellent. The bar and wait staff are amazing! The hostess could be a little better in comparison, but having been one in the past, I am particularly critical of them. Wonderful drink menu! Only complaint I have is that sometimes I feel maybe they scrimp on seafood portions (one scallop doesnt really seem like scallops on the side). But I excuse this for even having high quality seafood in the middle of the country.

Went there for our anniversary dinner. Our waiter was awesome, he knew the menu and gave great description of the flavors of the dishes. He also knew his wine and recommended a great wine for a friend that was with us. My wife ordered a White Cosmo which he described to her before ordering. We had desert which wasnt great but they corrected it right away to the point where the owner took care of us with it. Overall the place was a great place to eat and staff was top notch.

This restaurant has incredible food and some of the best service Ive ever had and when I say service Im not talking about just the waitress the whole staff including the head chef himself brought our food out and had a short conversation with us and to top it off we had a small infant with us so the manager sent an employee to go get our car from valet

This is my go to place to eat from now on. First the reservation process was easy and asking me what occassion was personal customer service. Parking was FAB! Staff was exceptional and the food for all 10 of us was a home run. Something for everyone ...such a crowd pleaser! KUDOS

My fiancé took me here for our 2 yr dating anniversary. The service was amazing. Oyster and Fish very fresh for the Midwest. We will definitely come back and hopefully bring other family and friends to experience a nice and elegant dining atmosphere.

My #1 place in KC! This place should be way busier considering how good it is. Great location inside Prairie Fire, with a great atmosphere. I travel all over the US frequently but to my surprise the best seafood Ive had is here... in Kansas.

Great food...if youre willing to wait. Staff is nice but kitchen is ridiculously slow. Friday night date night, restaurant half empty and every table complaining of how long the food is taking to arrive.

Offered creative cocktail choices and the staff was friendly. I only met someone for happy hour so I didnt get the chance to view their entire menu. They did offer great small bites which were delicious.
