I came home for Christmas all the way from Mississippi. We decided to go out and have drinks with a big group of friends. The service was very slow and the food wasnt good at all. There was a loud, drunk, very rude guy at the bar...touching one of my friends on the head all the way down her back. Talking very loud behind us, when we turned to look he says to my friend with his hand in her face "Im not talking to your Chinese ass" come to find out that hes the owner of the bar!! What kind of owner says that to someone?? It does not matter if you are drunk or not you just dont say that to someone. And we arent even Chinese!! And half of the table is Asian! So ignorant! And very unprofessional of him. We will never be back and I know a lot of our friends wont be back either. He lost a lot of business that night because we had half of that bar out of there. Ive never been treated like that in my whole entire life. Ottumwa being my home town and growing up here, nothing like this has ever happened to me. I wouldnt recommend and go there to support such a racist owner.

My fiancee and I were in Ottumwa last night, visiting from Seattle, Washington. We decided to head out with some family and friends for a drink and we ended up at Saints Pub. After we ordered drinks, we were hanging out around a large table. All of a sudden, I heard from a number of the people in our group that a drunk man made an ignorant and racist comment to one of our friends (my fiancees family and some of their friends that were out with us are Asian-American). It turned out that that man was the OWNER OF THE BAR. Needless to say, we left and will not ever be coming back. **I also wanted to say that an assistant manager apologized to our group. He even found us at the next bar that we went to and bought us a round. Thanks to him for doing that. However, that doesnt make up for the fact that the owner of Saints racially abused a customer. That alone warrants a zero-star rating. If you want your bar to get as many people as Courtside, dont get drunk at your own bar and dont treat your customers like garbage!

We could hear a guy being loud and then he rub my friends hair. He doesnt even know her. Then he said some rude ignorant racist comment to me. Makes the bar look pretty bad and racist. It was hurtful and disrespectful. Come to find out that the creep drunk guy is the OWER OF THE BAR!!! The owner should have some class and shouldnt be drinking at their own establishment!!!!!!!! I know that my friends and I will NEVER EVER support a place like this. **I also wanted to say that an assistant manager apologized to our group. 6/29/16: Took a party of 12 graduate students out from surrounding areas to Saints - Ottumwa for dinner. Three left with food poisoning from sliders, salads, and tacos; one vomited during class the following day. Prices are unreasonable and comical. Thankfully, our group observed Gonzo the Muppet (Ottumwa School Board President) downing ten beers while flirting with bimbos without his lovely wife (Ann, Mayor Tom Lazios offspring) during the evening, albeit, no cover charge was required. Great pictures and true visual depictions of Ottumwas drunken sycophants. Since the owner admittingly despises all Palens (like the rest of us), he gets a reprieve this time. Its better than Courtside. Foyer, TVs, and pull down doors are a plus.

Pros: The food is delicious, the environment is clean with the music playing at a reasonable volume, and the wait staff is on top of their business. Cons: The prices for food are a bit too high for my cost-benefit analysis. They dont give you a lot of food for the price they charge. This is made up in the quality of the food. Yet, I still leave hungry because I dont want to spend 8 bucks on two handfuls of pepper jack bites. Overall: I recommend giving this place a shot. The food is tasty!

Went there on Saturday with my family and had nearly a 180 in the experience I had the last time I was there. Portion size is inconsistent and my folks were not keen on the service they received. if you are paying over 9 bucks a plate, certain things I think need to be changed. I have never heard racist comments from the manager before..

This was an amazing experience. This really is a five star experience. The food is really one of a kind and can only be experienced here. The service is also amazing. Overall this is the restaurant is truly the one restaurant you need to go too!

Saints is a nice oasis in Ottumwa. A well kept place that has the feel of a city pub. The food was good, there are not an abundance of options, but what they have is decent. In the off times its quiet, even at lunch on some days.

Best food in Ottumwa. 2 AM burger is awesome and their sweet potatoe and waffle fries are great too. Whenever Im in town this is where I go for a nice dinner.
