We ordered 3 crunchy rolls to go.. They are not at all spicy as I have eaten there many times...and these were spicy! I cant have spicy food or I will get sick. I ordered them Tuesday night at about 8:30pm and by the time I arrived home they were already closed. So i called then wednesday to try to get them replaced.. and the guy that answered was BEYOND rude! I let him know what happened and that I would like to get them replaced.. and he responded "Well the owner was making the rolls and he made the menu.. so there is no way he would have made that mistake".. no apology.. no trying to make it right... all I got was well... too bad. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I caution everybody else to do the same!

Ive never been to a restaurant as many times as I have Mandarin Spice - it just impresses me every time. So far I havent found anything on the menu I havent loved! The food is always cooked perfectly, and that quality never seems to waver. Every waiter and waitress Ive had - even new hires - have been friendly and professional, and the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is top-notch. I prefer this restaurant to Sushi House because the quality of service is consistently better, and the size and layout of the building seems to help keep the noise down. Definitely worth a try. My favorite entree is Beef Chow Fun, and favorite roll is Fried California Roll (cant beat the price on this one!)

I cant believe everyone seems to think this is the best place in CR to eat. I mean, its alright, but I liked the place better when it was called Green Leaves. Why? Meals were cheaper with larger portions, everything listed on the menu was there and could be ordered at any time, plus they had a sushi buffet. I mean, I ordered something called the Dragon Roll cause I love eel sushi and they told me that they no longer serve it and that many menu items have died either because they quit making it or they just dont order certain things anymore. And who wants to eat at a restaurant like that?

Mandarin Spice is definitely one of the best places in Cedar Rapids to get sushi and you cant go wrong with the large menu and various Asian cuisines available. The big sell is currently the half price sushi going on now until June 29. This includes a number of specialty rolls like rainbow rolls, volcano rolls, etc. This is a big deal since the $13 specialty rolls are only $6.50 a piece and basic maki like spicy tuna rolls are down to $2.75. The service can be slow during lunch when half price is in effect, but the wait is worth it due to the high quality and fantastic prices.

Poor service, we sat at our table in the back room for about 20 minutes before I got up to tell one of the servers that no one had greeted us yet. Someone came over to our table to take our appetizer order and we waited for another 15 minutes by the time we got our appetizers. Someone finally came over to take our order which is only a couple of rolls and we waited almost 40 minutes before our food came out. All the time we were waiting no one came over to check on us or refill our empty drinks. Just wish someone had paid more attention to the table in the back corner.

Hands down, without a doubt, the BEST Oriental food in the area. Ill put their Mongolian beef & Black Pepper Chicken up against anyones in town, & this will win every time. Every dish is on point; their curry noodles & sushi being a couple of my favorites. The Sunday buffet is top-notch, & totally worth the price if you do it right. Best way to save your wallet & your belly when theres two of you: order one or two items from their tapas menu & split an entree. Perfect date night dinner right there.

Fresh ingredients, cooked after your order, exquisite recipes, artistic presentation of some of the dishes and customization are the hallmarks of this restaurant. The soy is organic, which is important for me. The sushi is always great and heck they even serve organic sake!! The staff are pleasant and Michael often stops by for a quick hello. I am yet to find a better fusion restaurant in all my travels. My favorites are "whole grain veg fried rice" and "wild mushrooms with organic tofu"

We were in this week..early summer...and the place was slammed at 6 on a weeknight..obviously a surprise volume of people for us and the other guests..still seated with a party of six in 10 minutes..and the service was good..but they were working like mad..apps arrived fast....dinner not too far behind and the food was almost PF Changs quality...the kids eat edamame by the gallon...the adults got fried cali rolls and were amazing..taking the guys from work for lunch next week.

Hands down my favorite place to eat in Cedar Rapids. The menu is large, and each food Ive ordered has been top-notch, from the sushi rolls to the entrees. Their Sunday brunch is great if you want to try a bunch of their foods - you get to choose from two entrees and then visit a buffet of noodles, fried rice, rack of shrimp, and more. The cocktails are also awesome if youre out for drinks with friends - killer Mai Tais!

A great experience from start to finish. This fabulous restaurant is new to Cedar Rapids and well worth a visit. Having eaten Chinese and Sushi food all around the world, from 5 star hotels in Hong Kong to the smallest in East London, I must admit this is the best Ive ever tasted. Michael the owner and his team cannot do enough to make sure you have a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. You must try it.

Ive eaten here for both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. The wait staff is well trained, the portions are nicely sized and the food is excellent. As good a restaurant as you could hope to find here in Cedar Rapids, stands up well to places Ive experienced in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Recommendation: The Singapore Noodles... as good or better than anything I had in Singapore.

Nice to have a good fusion restaurant in town - great menu selection for even those that are picky or not big on fusion style. Has good sushi, and tapas selection. Recommend the wontons and sweet and sour pork. They even have a few American craft beers on tap, always nice when you can get those at something other than a pub and grub! Service has been consistently fast and friendly.

Being disappointed at the previous establishments in this location, my fiance and I still had been interested in checking this place out since we walked by and a nice gentleman leaving highly recommended it. It has a wonderful variety of Asian dishes and the service was great. I hope word spreads because this one of the few really great places to eat in the Cedar Rapids area.

Great food. Staff works very hard but the restaurant was extremely understaffed. Our order was taken wrong, we couldnt get water refills, and our food took almost an hour. This all happened when the restaurant had open tables. I asked to speak to a manager before leaving but after waiting 5 minutes I was done wasting my time at this place.
