Weve ordered from them a few different times. I feel like every time we order we get different quality food. This time it was all right. Definitely could have been a lot better. My other issue they were late with our food. The delivery lady was at the wrong house and she kept insisting that I was wrong. I was sitting on my porch when she called me. I told her our porch light was on and I was sitting on it. She told me the light wasnt on and no one was sitting on the porch. I got up and walked onto the deck she was at the wrong house and was just walking around on the sidewalk. We are going to be looking for a different place to order from. Not just because of this incident but the food being different every time. Also this night we got mostly rice with a few bites of meat. For the prices I would expect there to be a bit more meat.

We order delivery pretty frequently from this China Inn location, and have always been pleased with the food and service. They have a pretty expansive menu, and reasonable prices--especially with the variety of sizes and options they offer. The staff are always friendly and quick to take your order - and the delivery staff are also pleasant. My only complaint would be that it rarely takes fewer than 40 minutes to get our order, but I think thats probably because this is one of the few Chinese restaurants in town that delivers to such a wide area. Well definitely be ordering again!

I should have read the reviews. This is not a 4 star chinese restaurant. The only thing that was good was the egg roll. The food was disgusting and I didnt eat more than a few bites. I had the king pao chicken. The chicken was all fatty and a strange color. The vegetables were overcooked and the fried rice tasted like it was old. I think the owners of this business should heed mt fortune cookies advice "if you dont do it excellently, dont do it at all". You may as well shut down cause you obviously dont care what you serve your customers!

Its a Chinese takeout restaurant. Im not sure if the people giving one star ratings are expecting a candle lit dining experience or what, but I have absolutely no complaints. The food is consistently good, and it takes them 10 minutes to put it together for us to pick up. If the best thing about a restaurant is the egg roll, youre either ordering the wrong thing, or you are delusional about setting expectations for a takeout restaurant. Its good food. No complaints. Prompt, consistent, well priced, and locally owned.

I ordered the sesame chicken, chicken fried rice, and 4 crab rangoons. Food took an hour to get to my house, and I wasnt happy about paying $16 for it. The rice was very bland, and the chicken in it tasted like it was boiled (which it probably was), the sesame chicken was better but not by much. And when they boxed it up they just dumped the sesame seeds on top? The only redeemable thing about the whole experience was the crab rangoons; and even they were mediocre at best, and tiny. Will not be ordering from here again.

Not the worst Mandarin food in the Cedar Rapids area, but not the best, either. We have this stuff delivered at work every other week or so & it is perfectly acceptable. Edit: Maybe is the worst Mandarin food in the area. Three different times Ive ordered spicy dishes & asked that they be made extra, extra spicy. What I get is grissle drowned in sauce that doesnt even give me sniffles & really un-good fried rice that may have been reheated from the day before. Tired of throwing my hard earned money away.

I got fried rice, egg drop soup, and beef and broccoli. I liked the fried rice, it was a good size porion and tasted great (No vegetables if you a were expected veggies but I didnt mind). However, dont order the egg drop soup. Its definitely not homemade. At least the broth isnt. It was thick and almost slimy. I didnt take more than a couple bites. The delivery was pretty fast, and the prices are pretty cheap. And delivery to my place was only $1.50.

This has got to be the best Chinese restaurant in Iowa... and Ive been to a lot of em! The food here is great, service is always fast, and it is very reasonably priced. Its mainly a take-out place, but they do have several tables, too. The building isnt in great shape, but dont let that scare you off. Inside its cleaner than most CR restaurants and the kitchen is open so that you can watch them prepare your food. I highly recommend this place!

Waited an hour and a half for my food when it finally got here it was cold and the wrong order we called them back and they told us tough luck. We have friends who ordered here and it took them two hours We still ate the food and it was awful. I wish I had looked at ALL the reviews instead of some of them. Because this food made me ill. This place is awful and should be inspected by the health department. Waste of money and time.

If you get delivery and decide to pay cash, make sure to have exact change, because this place will not give you exact change. My order was $25.58, and they gave me back $14 because the driver said they dont carry change. She actually argued with me about it when I asked her why. The driver actually took 20 minutes to get 3 blocks to my work. The food was okay, it was the delivery and paying for it that wasnt okay.

Egg rolls are big and have the thicker crust Orange Chicken has the sauce truly cooked on, not just dipped in Fried rice is actually cooked in a pan and seared, not just steamed in a big pot with peas and carrots. I have had chinese on blairs ferry, hiawatha, there are 2 close to 33rd, at the mall, etc. China Inn is by far the best, and I believe one of the cheapest too :-)

Worst food Ive ever had. Steamed dumplings tasted awful. My wifes mei fun pork was full of under cooked fat pieces. My generals chicken was the worst quality chicken ive ever seen. The only thing that was good was the speed of delivery, i paid $30 for junk & crap portions. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

If I could choose no stars whatsoever, I would. This was the worst chinese food I have ever had, and it made both my husband and I sick! Not to mention that it took 2 hours to get here (we did delivery)! Support local businesses during this rough time, but DO NOT order from here! Gross!

Decent Chinese food, convenient location, good prices. Nothing fancy but delicious food. I recommend calling in your order because they do get busy. Where else can you get a nice meal for $6 including a can of pop? It beats the fast food joints.

Always good food prepared quickly at a fair price. Most always order crab Rangoon with sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard and fried rice, then an additional something new. House Special Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Chicken Chow Mein are favorites.

I get a to-go order every week and have for several years. Always excellent. Not much variation -- maybe if someone is on holiday rarely. But, this produces good consistent Chinese food. Actually, I am shocked to read any negatives.
