Daughter lives here...I came to visit. Stopped in, got there just before 8. Ordered 2/4 pc chicken dinners, and a burger and fries. Coffee, and 2 beverages. Chicken tasty, but not Hot... mashed potatoes lumpy and thick. Hour before closing, so trying to give benefit of the doubt. However, service lacking. Rushed through taking our order... reached in front of us SEVERAL TIMES, twice for the jelly caddy! Had to ask for a soda refill, had to ask her to take our empty plates... twice. We werent offered dessert...and I like dessert!! They locked the doors when we left...15 til 9. Saw a large group headed to the doors as we left the parking lot. Overall, not a stellar experience!!

The first time I walked into Crouses on a Sunday morning I didnt know what to expect, luckily i had people thatd already been there. The place was packed! But it had a nice hometown atmosphere and friendly people. Id gone up to the buffet and was surprised to find real eggs! Not even the fake substitute stuff you get at hyvee buffet. Id definately reccomend Crouses to anyone new to the town and Id like to get to know how the system works in there; Im a very quiet person so I was shocked by all the craziness but it ended up a fun experience :)

Just moved to town and tried a local favorite. Food was edible however nothing was hot or fresh. Secondly the service was less than desirable. Waitress was short with us, but very kind to the gentleman who came in about 20 mins after us. She reached in front of my face several times to refill things like jellies and ketchup but wouldnt take the dirty empty plates from the small table. Price was reasonable in comparison to portion size.

The best pie youll ever have. This small business has been there for at least senenty years and same family . You dont find that these days unless your doing something right. Every thing on the menu is great. Breakfast all day , large portions with a fair price and the place is always packed but they can always put out great food .

Excellent!!!!! Extremely friendly and fast!!!!!!! No shortage of portions so much food!!!!!! And priced a dinner special :-) :-) :-). No need for fast food chain when this is here. And same as I would have paid at fast food chain. We will be back everytime we are in town.

I would describe the Crouse Cafe best as a great small town cafe atmosphere. The staff is friendly and courteous. They take the time to get to know people. The food is wholesome and freshly prepared. I really enjoy the fact that I can get an omelette any time I walk in!

Long time favorite ever since being a student at Simpson College. Crouse Cafe is the type of place where the plates are bigger than the bills and hospitality is served to fill you up. You will always leave full at Crouse Cafe....belly and heart.

Sunday moring buffet was lousy, except for bacon, OJ, and service. Im fairly certain the tastless scrambled eggs were powered eggs, pastries were stale, potato wedges were greasy and tastless, etc. Yuck.

Just had an amazing "burger" here. It has turkey, spinach, brown rice, roasted onions and dried cherries. I deluxed" it with lettuce, tomato and pickles and had rosy apples (cinnamon chunky applesauce.

Everything homemade. Home baked pies the best in the state. Real mashed potatoes, real roast beef and real breaded tenderloins. Cant be beat for a reasonable price and great comfort food.

Insanely affordable. Awesome, local atmosphere. Funny waiters/waitresses. Great comfort food. Buy the Hot Beef and theyll roll you out in a stretcher because youll slip into a food coma.
