We came for New Years Eve dinner 2016. I brought an old friend and my longtime girlfriend. I was hoping to impress them both with something different than the norm. I wanted the old supper club feel and that rang true. The place is nice but shows its age and use. The menu was scaled down to handle a crowd (smart). We looked at the menu to find prices were up there but who could complain if the dishes were excellent. Well....they werent. The salads came out first. They were very small and worst yet, browning leaves and not fresh. The bread roll was hard and dry, ok...dried out. Already my experience was diminishing. NOTE: Bread and lettuce are cheap and should be easy preps. Not sure what the issue is other than management acting cheaply. Now the entrées are served. I ordered the fried shrimp and garlic mashed potatoes. I expected large shrimp, they were not. Not small, but...average. They tasted fine. The potatoes were bland for a designed dish and served cool, not hot. My friend had a 10oz New York strip and a baked potato and he was happy. My girlfriend had the 10oz Filet Mignon. I tried it and it was perfect. She also had the same cool garlic mashed potatoes. When commenting on how the dishes were presented, the plates were larger which made the entrées appear skimpy. I would suggest smaller plates, larger portions or dress the plate with parsley and a orange/citrus slice to fill the void and/or dress it up. Again, same as bread and lettuce senerio, potatoes are an inexpensive item. A larger portion here would help fill out the plate. We had the three entrées, 1 glass of house red wine, and 2 sodas. This tallied up to $108 plus 20 tip. At $128 at a rural Iowa supper club? Not good. Im not saying prices were high, but they are. I am saying food value was low. I wish I could say I would come back but...I probably wont. If the Lighthouse wants to be in business for years to come, Id suggest a swift change. People will pay if they find they are not being cheated.

Not good. I was given the wrong beer and the waitress insisted it was right but it certainly didnt taste like what I ordered. The french onion soup I ordered was extremely salty and low on actual taste and didnt have much cheese in it. I got ribs for an entree upon recommendation from someone whod been there before. What I got was a gristly mess that didnt have the tender, fall-off-the-bone qualities I was looking for. I was hoping dessert would redeem the place but the chocolate cake was very dry. I can tell this place only stays in business because there are plenty of locals who have never had good food and simply dont know any better.

Mary and I had a great Saturday evening at the Lighthouse Inn on Mt Vernon Road in Cedar Rapids. She had Baked Cod (always outstanding) and I opted for the "BIG TOM" Sandwich. Deli Bun with Fried Tenderloin, swiss cheese, hamburger patty, American cheese, sweet pickle relish. Was fixed to perfection and I kept half for my brother in Waterloo. He will enjoy it on Sunday. Steve makes sure all goes well, numerous trips to table during evening to ensure satisfaction. Always enjoyable, quiet, and I give Gift cards to clients to expose them to great food.. Well done! E. The Lighthouse Inn is a cute, intimate, and relaxing environment to be in. Perfect for Friday night dates or catching up with friends and family. The inn is always clean, appropriately lit, and the staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The food is impeccable - I have never been disappointed. The wine selection is also fantastic! On a side note, eating at the inn can be quite expensive - but do not let that deter you. It is worth the fantastic food, service, and dining experience!

As a child my parents would taken me to the Light house at least once a week for dinner. On Wednesdays we would hop in the car and drive down to the best dinner place in town! The french onion soup was always the best and I have never in my life had anything as good. This place was a staple in my childhood and now I can share the same wonderful memories with my children!

Ive enjoyed the Lighthouse Inn Supper Club since 2000, and seen so many birthday, anniversary gatherings, and banquets for large events. I love the seasonal decorations, especially the Christmas tree. The restaurant frequently offers new dinner, dessert, and drink items. See the specials featured on Facebook.

Excellent and speedy service. Gluten Free Friendly. We were running behind and needed to catch our flight, so we called in about 15 minutes before we arrived with our order. They had it all ready when we walked in the door, they were super friendly and speedy. Very impressed!!

They are the bestest service I know! We go there once a month!!!! Great service every time. We was there this last Wednesday, we got a call about one of relations was in the hospital & we needed to go. We asked the waitress if we can get r food to go! No problem!!!!!!!!!
