My boyfriend and I seriously thought we were on a hidden camera show, the staff was making us feel so uncomfortable. Telling us about how he just killed a giant hornet and needed to clean it up (GROSS!) and kept asking if we wanted a signed baseball card? We just want our food! (Come to find out, this was the MANAGER!) While waiting at the window, random staffers kept coming to talk to us, awkwardly asking us completely random questions, basically trying to "entertain" us while we waiting the ridiculous amount of time for our food. It was so cringe-worthy, we almost drove off. Needless to say we were nervous about eating our food, which we didnt because we got home only to realize it was completely wrong. We felt like the staff was completely messing with us and thought they were being funny by making us feel uncomfortable. Incredibly immature!! When my BF called the restaurant, he asked to talk to the manager to which whoever answered replied "Sure", only to wait a few seconds and get back on the phone. So either someone was pretending to be the manager, or the manager initially answered and pretended to be a staffer, either way, ridiculous! This place needs to clean house and hire staff (and management!) that will actually do their jobs, not a bunch of kids who do nothing but screw around and act like a bunch of immature jack-holes!! I understand that orders get messed up sometimes, but when you have terrible service that seems to be purposely making you feel awkward and uncomfortable simply because they are immature, bored, and think its funny ON TOP of our order being completely wrong, then Im gonna be pissed. I will NEVER return to this place, ever. I literally cringe every time I drive past this TB.

This location needs to get it together. Tried eating here in drive for breakfast twice in one morning after their posted hours. At 7am there was a car in front of me and they drive off. I figured they didnt want anything or forgot their card, Etc. only to find that when I got to the window I was not greeted either. I waited for a few minutes, left and came back at 7:15 and still no one there, breakfast menu not up, four cars in the lot... So I called the store and spoke with a manager who told me that they were having some technical difficulties and thats why they werent open yet. I have previously worked in the customer service/food industry for 10years of my life and I understand sometimes things happen, but I feel like this could have handled it a lot better. At least post a sign at the drive speaker and front door stating "sorry for the inconvenience, we will be open at _:__ this morning due to technical difficulties" or at least apologize on the phone, offer some type of apology and explanation.. But none was given, just some excuse. Its a new store, so I think some outside, extra training and help is needed here after reading some of these other reviews. I have never tried TB Breakfast before , and after today, I can say I still havent.

This place has had over a year to improve, and only gotten worse. Posted hours says they serve breakfast and open at 7am - this almost never happens. Usually 7:30 at the earliest. Today I drove through at 7:50 and absolutely nobody was in the store. Lights off, no cars in the lot. But still says that they serve breakfast and open at 7 a.m. I hadnt been there in months because the last time we went through for dinner, we placed our order in drive through at 7:47 p.m. At 8:25 p.m., we got to the window. So many people drove off, but it still took 45 minutes from speaker to window. Then another several minutes to hand us our order - which was stone cold. Ridiculous. I was so excited to have a Taco Bell opening in this part of Ankeny, but its turned into a colossal waste of time. This place needs to get it together or close; Im honestly embarrassed for them.

Ive given this Taco Bell location (Ankeny Blvd) 5 chances now and will not be going back (which is a shame since I live just 2 blocks away). The employees are ok but seem generally unhappy to be working there and make no attempt to be friendly (with the exception of one male employee who helped me at the drive thru window today named Ty- he was very friendly). What is worse is the food, the food quality at this location is absolutely terrible! I have tried a different item all 5 times that Ive gone here and they were all awful; 3 of the 5 times the food was stale, cold or way past its hold time and the other 2 times it was burnt or missing ingredients (like the sauce that usually accompanies the quesadillas). I dont look for this location to do good business in the future if they continue to provide such poor service.

I dont expect the food to be amazing- its Taco Bell. I do at least expect them to have what I order in stock. While in the drive thru, I asked for a salad and was told they dont make black beans before 11am. Ive never heard of this "rule" at any other Taco Bell. While it may be true- I still have a feeling they said that out of pure laziness. So I ordered a chicken quesadilla in place of the salad. What I got was what should be called cheese quesadilla with a blob of chicken in the middle. Two slices didnt even have anything in them! I paid full price for half the food. I was happy that I opted to also get a bean burrito- at least, until I took a bite. The beans were hard and tasted old. Not impressed!

The worst taco bell I have ever been to. Bad, slow, lazy service. They wont be open when they say they are and that happens all the time. Expect to spend 10 minutes in the drive thru even if no cars are in front of you. Whatever corporation owns this one should fire the manager immediately they have had a year and it is only getting worse. I see they have now changed their hours and dont serve breakfast anymore. I guess if you cant get it right... give up. Skip this place and go to the one on the south side of town by the fire station.

My mom and I drove up to this taco bell location today (Tuesday, November 22), at 8am, to discover that, not only the dining room was not open, but we got no response at the drive-thru as well, as if no one was there. Funny thing is that this store was supposed to be open at 7am, at least according to Google. So whats the deal!? Is this restaurant staffed and run by people, who dont know how to make sure its open on time? Today, Im giving this location 2 stars, the extra star is because I really like Taco Bells food.

We went tonight (6pm) and were told they had no beef!!!!! What?! The boy said..."Yeah, that happens." We left and went to the only other TB in Ankeny. They had everything in stock. This is not the first time Ive had issues with this North Ankeny TB. New update a few months later...things have seemed to improve. They act like they care and there are more adults rather than all teens. Items seem to be in stock, food good and customer service has definitely improved.
