When you enter, you feel a gentle thrum fill your body. The room seems less like a bar and more of a warm haven for thirsty travelers. Every time you visit, you witness a part of the bar you previously didnt know about. The collection of Polaroid pictures on the wall, the posters of various drinks, the lottery and pinball machines, the cardboard Skelton looking down from above. The bar invites you in, makes you feel at home, a place where you belong, a place where everyone knows your name....wait a minute.....okay so rereading this I realize I was just writing nonsense. So....uh....this is awkward.....lets see....ummm....they have good booze and nice bartenders. Come drink here....oh and pool is free on Sunday....so....uh....thats pretty cool.

I dont know anything about the owner, but the prices in Thumbs are the best youre going to get. Always great specials, not to mention the best foosball table on this side of town. Of course, what makes thumbs my favorite bar are the people who go there - you simply never know who youre going to meet each time.

great time over 4 yrs, probably the best bar in Ames, the local crowd is always cool and you dont usually get that 21 year old club element vibe in there. Keep it up Hildy yur doing a great job
